We really liked the variety of breakfast options on the menu which made it very difficult to decide what we wanted! We thought it was unique that there was a milkshake menu so we ordered the strawberry milkshake. It wasn't quite as large as I expected, but it was super thick and tasty so it was very satisfying. My partner ordered the big break. When the plates appeared in front of us it became clear that big was a very accurate way of describing it. The bacon strips were really big and the sausages were full of flavour! The pancakes were also amazing and another one of the highlights of the meal. I ordered rise of the planet of the eggs. I appreciated the effort put in to using so many puns on the menu! The hollandaise sauce was very flavourful and worked really well with the potatoes. I liked that there was just a moderate amount of cheese and bacon so it wasn't too overwhelming. Despite my best efforts I wasn't able to finish the plate so I was very impressed with the value I got for my money. We'd be happy to return here someday for a chance to try out even more items off the menu! read more

Lester D's is a local favourite diner in St. Catharines. The interior has a cool nostalgic rock and roll vibe and everything on the menu is super affordable and great value. We ordered the HOUSE BARATHEON BREAKFAST ($16.75) with 3 eggs, 8oz NY Strip, Onion rings, Homefries, and Toast. It was so much food that I basically had to pack half of it home. The waiter was really accommodating in the sense that since I really wanted french toast that day, he was willing to give it to me by trading it with the homefries and toast. We also ordered the RAIDERS OF THE LOST BENEDICT ($14) with 2 poached eggs on english muffins, Peameal bacon, Hollandaise sauce, Fresh fruit, and Homefries. Once again, lots and lots of food. The egg could have been a little more runnier in my opinion but the hollandaise sauce is on point! Lester D's is definitely a hidden gem that I highly recommend you to check out if you happen to be in the Niagara region! The poor girl that was waiting on us seemed to be the only waitress and the other staff (if they were staff even) were just going in and out of the kitchen and then sitting down at tables and eating. I absolutely loved this place! Definitely a must for breakfast and I have yet to try their other menu items. The food came out hot and in huge portions. Not to mention: rye bread is included as an option! The bread slices come out like a big flower- its clever. The bacon and sausages were cooked just right- and the peameal was delicious! Eggs cooked perfectly! Pancakes the perfect size and fluffiness. You have got to try this place for yourself. This is probably my very first favourite diner. I'm usually very picky with having brunch. When we arrived, it was superbly busy. There were a few people in front of us but the lined moved quickly. I got the egg bennies, as usual! The hollandaise sauce was perfect - creamy and smooth. The meal was larger than expected. They gave a lot of fruits which is always good. Service was mediocre. The waitress wasn't attentive as she only came to check up on us once... which is asking if we want the bill. read more

Dropped by for a weekday breakfast. Quaint little diner with a movie/cinema decor throughout. Housed with plenty of booths and stool counters for sitting typical for a classic diner and TV's set-up with ongoing movies playing throughout the day. Ordered their classic breakfast dishes, eggs, bacon and toast were made to perfection but then again it isn't difficult to make your common breakfast meals. The home fries were quite good, golden and lightly griddle fried. Coffee was good too and unlimited refills. Service was attentive and friendly. Price value was good...damage was $16 for 2 people. Washrooms were relatively clean too. As a frequent visitor to various diners, I was disappointed that the coffee wasn't included in the price of the breakfast but overall everything was good. Waiting over an hour for food. No one checked on us after we got our drinks and there were so many bees around the table, me and my bf had to cover our drinks with our phones so the bees wouldn't get in them. We ended up leaving because the table who sat down at least 20 minutes after us got their food before us and they ordered the same thing (bacon and eggs and banana bread). Not sure if they forgot that we were there or what but we ended up leaving because I didn't have all this time to wait for our food. I understand they are busy but this service was just ridiculous. When we went inside to pay for the drinks I informed the one lady that we have been waiting for over an hour and I had somewhere to be so we would like to just pay for the drinks and leave. The lady didn't apologize at all for our wait and was extremely rude when handing us the debit machine. We left Lester D's still hungry and annoyed with the way we were treated and the waiting over an HOUR for food that we never even got. read more

Lester D's is famous for putting amazing twists on their meals. For example, one of their more delicious breakfast sandwiches is sausage, bacon, eggs between two pancakes.mmmmmm. They also have amazing milkshakes with some unique flavors that you can mix and match. Everything on the menu is priced VERY fair and is perfect for students who do not want to spend as much or a large family looking to fill up on a Sunday morning. Lester D's is famous for their massive Kong sized Burgers. It's plated beautifully and messy, just like a diner should. I recommend their rise of the planet of the eggs if you like a hollandaise sauce or any burger works too. The servers are all family friendly and are very accommodating. They are quick and pay attention to detail when ordering. I am a picky eater and do not like multiple condiments and it was not a problem for them at all. Bonus points for getting my order exactly right everytime. Lester D's is a classic film type Diner that I've never seen before. There are film decorations everywhere! From the tv's playing movies all day long to the servers rocking their awesome movie t-shirts! Overall, like mentioned above, the best place to get food in the Niagara region. Been here once for brunch. The atmosphere is super fun especially if youre a film nut like me. The menus have cool movie posters ok the back and fun quotes are written on the chalkboard. When I came in, Napoleon Dynamite was playing, decent film. Got the eggs benedict, which is my favourite dish. The poached eggs though, man. They were basically hard boiled eggs on top of the English muffins. The pea meal bacon was far too salty and the homefries were just diner basic. i would have liked to see more from this restaurant. I was just at Lester D's and I ordered poached medium dry rye and bacon. They sent me back poached soft bacon and soaked rye. I sent them back my meal and they returned it with poached soft and rye toast and I didn't eat it. The waitress then came back and charged me lol for the breakfast I sent back and didn't eat. I will never be returning to this restaurant! The one waitress did remove it from my bill and was very nice after I complained. read more

I explained to the employee that I knew that, which is why I wanted to book ahead for a large party. He told me it was too bad and that I'd just have to come in and try my luck. Employee was rude and unaccommodating. Turned away a party of 8 people willing to pay because they wanted to be proactive. Isnt this the whole reason you make a reservation? my husband and I decided to go there for breakfast this Sunday morning at Lester ds what a mistake that was my fantastic day was turn upside down The place was busy the waitress Jesse took our order then only brought some of it forgot one of the drinks the bacon literally could've got up and walked off the plate it was that uncooked after asking for crispy bacon. Jesse then took the plate I ate from back into the kitchen removed the uncooked bacon and gave me a crispy bacon cross contaminating everything in the kitchen We had to go up and ask for utensils and syrup so we could eat. then when we got the bill it had other people's stuff on it and half of ours drinks was on it told the waitress Jesse and she gave us nasty attitude from her and to have her walk away from us we asked her if she could get us the manager she said sure we are very busy but I'll get my mother to have the kitchen staff come over to offer me more attitude when she asked me what the problem was I told her she said it any easy fix as the owner come up and asked what was going on and apologized and said sorry we're understaffed and busy today and I I told her it doesn't give her employees aka "Childerns" the right to be ignorant towards customers this place needs retraining in customer service and to maybe hire some staff other than family. read more
