We are glad we found Opa Opa just by chance near the Public Grocery store. We had two Gyros and a large Greek salad. There were three of us and we shared the food. The salad was really delicious with the olives and feta and a great oil and vinegar vinaigrette dressing. They had an awesome dessert case but we were too full to eat dessert.

First time in Myrtle Beach and I had a hankering for Mediterranean cuisine, specifically falafel. Unfortunately, Opa Opa did not have falafel, but I would certainly still recommend! Upon entering, the restaurant itself was neat and clean - a must for me! The owner, immediately began putting out tables together (a table for 6) without us even asking. No one else noticed but I did, which I am grateful for. I ordered the chicken platter over a bed of rice and potatoes which came with a Greek salad and a side of pita bread. Although I wanted falafel, I was happy to have that chicken! It was so flavorful and juicy. In general, the portion sizes were very large that I had to share some of my food. The salad was so refreshing! And the pita bread was a bit oily/buttery, but very fresh. I would highly recommend if you looking for fresh and fast service and quality.

The food was amazing. The staff was incredibly kind, efficient, and made sure to check up on you. Food was ready incredibly fast and tasted amazing. Very nice, calm, and homey vibe to the restaurant.

We saw opa opa as we were going to the nearby grocery and stopped here for lunch and glad we did. The staff was very nice. For lunch we had a lamb gyro and small Greek salad. The gyro hit the spot and was a welcome change to the usual lunch food.

Ordered 2 meals. One traditional gyro and one chicken souvlaki sandwich. Chicken was tender and not dry. Excellent.

Originally, my girlfriend & I were going to eat at the Cook Out further north up US 17 Business on Labor Day Monday, 9/2/24. But it started heavily raining, and it was only to go at this Cook Out; the one I went to before was dine-in, so that threw us for a loop. We would've had to wait outside in the pouring rain to order and then eat in the car, which I had no interest in doing. We were ultimately meeting up with friends down on the boardwalk south of 8th Ave N. We had parked on Broadway and thought about eating over there, but nothing stood out. We walked to Ocean Blvd, there were a couple of places that were to go or just wasn't feeling. Shwarma's King looked promising and coincidentally that's where some friends already were. So, we settled on that. My biggest pet peeve with restaurants is no courtesy cup of water for paying customer of food. Water should be given no questions asked. You order at the counter. I will say the owner was very nice. And we were desperate since I don't normally do food purchases from a business who refuses water. My g/f went ahead and paid since I froze when we talked about the no water cup, and she bought water. I will also say that the Schwarma wrap was great. It was too bad he denied courtesy cup of water, which should be a given with the meal because I think I would've given this 5-stars instead of 2-stars considering the friendly owner & great food.

It s location is just off the main highway in a nice shared retail space with plenty of parking and very little traffic. The food is fast and delicious Mediterranean food. I'm a sucker for shawarma and this one is cooked well. The hummus and pizza were the other items I tasted and they were an A+. The only issue is that the soda drink options have no refills because you have to order by the bottle. If that's my biggest complaint then this plus is alright! Mediterranean is one of those places that can make everyone in the group happy no matter their diet. This restaurant kept up with our hunger and made everyone happy in the group. In general, the food was good and the staff was friendly. During my two-day visit I had two meals there. Tried the Grilled Tiger Prawns, Soutzoukakia, Beet Salad, Maroulsalata, Pastichio and Spanakorizo. 1. The tiger prawns came with four pieces. Tasted fresh but a bit too salty for me. 2. Soutzoukakia was basically lamb and beef meatballs. Compared to Kofta in Middle Eastern cuisine, these had more flavors from meat but less from other ingredients. Served over tomato sauce. 3. Beet salad had generous amount of beets, but the arugula tasted just-out-of-fridge; it was very cold and crispy, lacking the flavor of fresh arugula. 4. Maroulsalata was a salad with chopped (green) romaine, green onions, dill, crumbled feta and lemon+EVOO dressing. A light dish perfect for pairing with their meats or (heavy) pastas. 5. Pastichio, the Greek style Lasagna, is a classical. It was my first time to try it and it tasted fantastic. It was an ~4 inch square piece of layers of hollow pasta topped with ground beef, a thick layer of bechamel, and topped with graviera cheese. Unlike meat sauce, the ground beef was "dry", but this was OKay because the bechamel would smoothen everything. In general rich in flavor and creamy and definitely filling. 6. Spanakorizo was like risotto or porridge but perhaps had even more liquid. It had Arborio rice, spinach, herbs and Kefalograviera cheese. The staff were friendly. They recognized me when I had my second meal there, answered my questions about the menu patiently, and explained to me about their tips (I will discuss this below). The dishes were served in reasonable time. The vibe was definitely at the higher end among the restaurants in Myrtle Beach; plus it was not crowded at all. Despite the good food, you should be careful about the tip. Their suggested tip percentages are calculated based on the taxed price; e.g. if you select the suggested 18% you are actually tipping more than that.
