Hawaiian Breeze coffee and spinach mushroom quiche for the Sunday morning win. The HB was a great mix of coconut, white chocolate, and macadamia nut flavors. The quiche was fantastic and beautifully packaged. The only complaint was that I like my crust a little crispy, but that is just an individual preference. I have been multiple times (4-7) and enjoy the vibe and merchandise. It seems like a very relaxing place to work or study. The coffee is high quality. I definitely would visit if you find yourself around the Midwest City Area. I downgraded to a 4 star though because I have now had two separate poor experiences: One day the crew didn't have coffee sleeves. I get it - logistics issues due to Covid. But because they were double cupping the coffees and attempting to put the lid on anyway, the steaming hot coffee spilled all over my hand, leg, and filled the cup holder of my new car. When I was clearly overwhelmed by the heat, the crew still handed the second coffee along and didn't seem concerned... I called after leaving and after my hand cooling off to implore them not to do that to others or at least warn people or turn down the heat. The person who answered the phone seemed ambivalent? Possibly they did though! I can't speak to that. A manager did not call to follow up so I'm unsure. The second less dramatic thing is please review the Boba tea. The tapioca balls must have been 'off'... cannot even describe the unhappiness. Usually tapioca balls by whatever name they go by (e.g. boba, pearls, bubble) are not a hardened gummy quality. The service business offers very similar services (quality coffee has a marginal difference from other quality coffee); what sets them apart must be the service (vibe, personality, family environment, whatever). I will definitely return and (although not try the boba again) I will update the review another time concerning the coffee! read more

I cannot wait to go back to this place!! In fact, I might be going back today! I got the iced almond mocha decaf and it was SO GOOD! As soon as I took my first sip, I texted all of my coffee loving friends and told them they had to drop everything to try OF. I cannot wait to do homework here or just get out of the house and hang out. They have a community table that was reserved, which is nice because people can get out of the office to have a meeting. I would like to start off by saying that I am totally open to revisiting and updating my review in a few weeks. However, my first two experiences will be reflected here. I went on their grand opening day around 2pm and expected it to be busy and chaotic and was so glad to see so many supporting this new Midwest City coffee shop. My first observation was that the menu, which is digital and hanging on the back wall, had the smallest print that was very hard to read. There are four screens and they were all crammed with writing, some of the descriptions were so small they couldn't be read. I asked for a printed menu and said the menu was hard to read from so far back. I was told they do not have printed menus. Which is a huge accessibility issue to me. The barista that took our order (there were two in my party) was leaving all of the cups by her register instead of moving them towards the espresso machine and queuing them up, whereas the other baristas were moving their cup orders towards the machine and in front of others who ordered first. I didn't mind waiting, but they did not have a system of fixing this issue. About ten orders that were taken after mine were served and ours was still nowhere to be seen. When I brought it up, they said the drinks would be right out. We waited 45 minutes for two drinks. They also do not have a consistent system of writing names and drink orders on the cups, it was one or the other and that resulted in them messing up several orders. A guy in front of us waited over an hour for a drink in his order and it was wrong twice. I definitely understand they are new and hopefully working out these issues. I went again today, two days after the grand opening, at around 10am. It was steadily busy, but not rush hour busy. I waited 20 minutes for my drink this time. They have printed menus now, but the font is still small on my opinion. I also witnessed the manager or owner (not sure of his title) get on to the employees publicly multiple times in front of customers. From leaving the whipped cream out of the fridge to messing up a drink order to management of the drive thru, there were several issues he chose to address publicly rather than privately. As a consumer and a supervisor, that really rubbed me the wrong way and didn't sit right. The employees seemed to keep going fine, but it wasn't done in a thoughtful and positive way-more out of irritation. I certainly hope to see that improved the next time I visit. As far as the drinks, my first visit I had a signature drink of theirs Caramel Silk and then tried a white mocha with caramel, both hot. I enjoyed both of them and they were delicious. The space is beautiful and I am amazed how well they transformed it. There's so many different spaces to work, meet with people, study or simply enjoy a cup of coffee. There are also outlets everywhere, which is nice. There's also a patio that has a nice looking fire pit and hopefully they add furniture when it gets warm out. I am looking forward to seeing Open Flame grow from their opening days. Midwest City needs new restaurants and retail spaces, especially in that area, so I am thrilled for this. read more

A fantastic new coffee shop in Midwest City. Like any new business, they're having a breaking-in period of figuring things out, but the owner has a goal to provide the best service and cup of coffee you've had. If something is wrong, he will do his best to make sure it is corrected. I've been in at least 10 times at this point, and I've had great service every single time. I am sugar-free, and the baristas have suggested multiple times how they could modify some of their signature drinks in order to accommodate me. Don't hesitate to ask questions. The atmosphere is also fantastic, whether you are looking for a quiet place to have a conversation with a friend or you need to study for an upcoming test. There are outlets for charging devices all over the place. Even my 60+ year old father who has a disdain for coffee shops has enjoyed his visits here. After the learning period is over, I wouldn't be surprised if this became the best place in Oklahoma City to get coffee. read more

Coming from the Seattle metro area, I am always skeptical about trying espresso-based drinks outside of the norm. My daughter-in-law and I were nearby and found this little gem within minutes of our dinner establishment. While this place has a drive-thru, we walked inside to get a feel of the ambiance and review the menu. Customer service: as expected from the friendly and courteous folks in the South. Prices: average for the menu. Quality: it is rooted in the coffee beans, which was exceptional for Oklahoma City. I returned the next day on my way out of town and utilized the drive-thru service. The gal at the window was so friendly and exhibited exemplary service. Overall rating is 5 stars for Open Flame for demonstrating espresso drinks made to please the palate. read more

Ugh, nothing is more disappointing then spending $6 on a cup of coffee you can't even drink. I took a few sips and had to throw it out. I got one of their specialty coffees. I think it was The Hawaiian or something like that. It was so syrupy sweet it was godawful. I couldn't even tell that it had coffee in it and it had an oily consistency that made it taste like butter. It was just the worst! And to make this syrup milk drink even worse they put coconut flakes in it!! Eww! Nobody wants coffee grounds in their coffee nevertheless coconut flakes!! Blech!! When it said coconut on the menu I thought it meant flavoring, they should warn people if they are going to put chunks of something in your drink. It was a bit unsettling. Had I been on my way home I would have tried to add coffee to it to see if it could be salvaged but as it was I was on the road and just chucked the whole thing in the trash. read more

Horrible customer service... I ordered a medium Americano with Hazelnut and Almond milk. After getting to work and just taking a few sips of my coffee it seemed sour to me... my first thought was maybe it is a light/blonde roast and I'm not use to it. I went to add some sugar to my coffee. When I opened the lid it revealed curdled creamer. I called and spoke to the girl who was working the driver thru and she only responded with "thanks for calling to let us know. We will check the almond milk." Umm okay... I called back and spoke to the guy working and explained to him what happened to my coffee. He said he had checked the almond milk and it was still good and it was probably because they use boiling water. I asked if he could refund my card for the coffee? He responded, no we can't do that. I asked can you offer a replacement?? He said sure you can come by and I'll make you another one. I told him if I did that I would just want a black coffee so it doesn't happen again... I asked what time they closed and if I could come by Monday? He said no I won't be here Monday... I told him never mind.. I'm good. Have a good one. He didn't even try to resolve the issue.. I had to initiate any kind of resolution. I will not be trying their coffee again just for the fact they lack any kind of customer service. read more

Open Flame rivals Hoboken Coffee Roasters (big compliment from me) and is so close! The decor is perfect, the seating is perfect, and the menu is PERFECT. they name their seasonal specials with such whimsy. For example, I had a Charlie Brown Chai today (and it was everything I could've hoped it would be). They've got couches, big tables, standing surfaces/bar tops, single/double seated small tables, and the list goes on. No matter how you like to enjoy your cup of joe, they've got the perfect set up! Even more shockingly is that all of the furniture goes together so you're not distracted by all of it. The room also wraps around a corner so you don't have to be sitting right in front of the order counter. Basically, everything about this building rocks!! And the options are wonderfully varied.
