The shrimp was amazing! Service in atmosphere was really nice for being a restaurant in a small town

This is a great little bar to stop at while out riding the backroads. Great service, laid back atmosphere, and the food is incredible.

Seems like a neat place, we must have just come at the wrong time of year. Sunny outside, but air…read morewas chilly and a bit windy. Our greeting when we came in was not the most friendly, woman behind the bar didn't even smile and mumbled something that I assume was our greeting. Our server, though nice, seemed very new and inexperienced. But she seemed to be nervously trying to do a good jobl My drink order never was what I ordered. I think there was confusion with the server and woman behind the bar. Our server didn't seem old enough to serve it to me, it was broght over by bar tender. It was pricey for not ever really getting what I requested. The day we were there, they had one of the garage doors open and the front door as well. It was so cold in there, we almost left to go elsewhere as I suspected the food would be cold before it got to the table to be eaten. After our 2nd request, they finally closed the one garage door,, but was still a bit chilly. Then they told us they just put the heater on. (the heater helped but have entry door open to bring food in from food trailer) We didn't realize the food was made in an outside trailer and walked inside. I got the crawfish tail ? Ettofee baked potato ? Ettofee sp?. Although The potato was well baked, and the sauce was Very good, there was only 4 or 5 very small crawfish tails on it. I ended up taking it home with me as it just wouldn't stay warm enough for me to eat more of it. I wish they would of had some type of thermal box, or cover to bring the food in from the outside trailer to the table... My husband had a mushroom swiss burger which was good, and some really delicious flat shaped fries, but again, keeping our food warm enough to eat it was not the best situation. There were some really good looking things on the menu, but it was just too cold in there that day. During nice weather, I'm sure our experience would have been much better, as it seems like a really nice place with a very nice patio with great view.

Their patio and views were amazing and so relaxing. The cutest restaurant indoor/outdoor. We also had our dog which they accommodated with some water. She also made friends with the sweet manager Erin (i think! Hopefully we got it right). Food was good and vibes were better. Will definitely be stopping by next time we are going to or coming from Galveston.

This young man pretty much had all the tables in the dining area and was hustling. He was none stop moving and tentative to all his tables. If you do decide to stop in highly recommend getting him as your waiter. The entrance is in the back with the hostess stand and, can be a little challenging to find. The one downfall is the parking. Once it fills up it can be challenging, there is a large field to park in as long as no one blocks the little entrance to it at the driveway.

So now for our second visit we were in the area delivering donation cakes for an action and decided to eat dinner at the Rusty Cowboy again! They weren't to busy yet and we got right in funny to say got the same table as the last visit. Jason our waiter got got us 2 Coke Zero's in those big old mason jars while we looked over the menu. Bonnie my wife decided to just have a couple of appetizers instead of a meal and to try some of my French fries when I get them with my shrimp and fish dinner. Along with a side of coleslaw and plenty of tartar sauce! Bonnie got corn nuggets and they came out first with sides of Ranch dressing. They were hot and very good. Then they brought out her chicken wings with Buffalo sauce with just a little kick to them and lots of meat on them. She loved them, I got my 3 fried shrimp and 3 fried pieces of Catfish along with my small mason jars while we of creamy coleslaw and my extra tartar sauce. Everything was hot and so, so good. Fries were hot and salty but not greasy. And there was even a couple of hush puppies underneath the fries, very good too! We stopped just short of finishing up so we could try some of the Blackberry cobbler we missed the last time, with some vanilla ice cream. It comes in a Mason jar with a spoon. I'm sorry to say, but we didn't like the cobbler, too much cobbler and not enough Blackberries! But will still come back and try some more choices! Jason did a great job!

The Chicken sandwich was extremely dry, thin as a credit card and the entire sandwich was incredibly messy. The sauce had a good heat to it. The margarita was sadly the worst I've ever had. There was salt ground in the glass, if you like a salt block this drink is for you. The cheese pizza was ordered with the rest of the meal, but didn't come out until after everyone else finished their meal and after 15 minutes of someone in the party reminded them that we still had no pizza. The pizza looked good, and tasted ok. The crust was thin, the sauce wasn't too thick but it just delivered a flat flavor overall. The ambiance inside the restaurant is very nice if you like pool and tv. We ate outside on the porch because the inside smells of smoke so badly, even though we didn't see any traces of smoke or smokers. I'm giving them a 3 star only because the staff was nice and the burger was good; otherwise they would get 2 stars.

We would have to go to the bar and order more beer or ask for a yogi box. The second issue we had was the really bad music. Twice now there has been some awful music played. So bad we had to leave. This will be our last night at Halftime 36 Bar and Grill. Service sucks, food is all fried but not bad. Bottom line is, Spend your money elsewhere on a business that cares.
