I normally do not post things like this publicly, but after attempting to address concerns privately and receiving no response, I feel obligated to share our experience to help others make informed decisions when booking events. We recently hosted our daughter's First Communion celebration at Ophelia's Wines & Bites, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. Throughout the planning process, numerous promises were made regarding setup assistance, décor, staffing, food portions, beverage service, and overall event coordination that were either not followed through on or changed entirely by the day of the event. Family members and guests ended up handling many tasks that we were told would already be completed, including decorating, organizing tables, lighting candles, and addressing missing items while guests were arriving. Food portions were much smaller than represented during the tasting, several items we expected to be included were charged separately, beverage service was poorly managed, and there was little to no actual table service despite paying for what was presented as an "all-inclusive" event experience. Most upsetting was the lack of communication, follow-through, and accountability afterward. We spent a significant amount of money expecting professionalism and hospitality, but left feeling stressed, embarrassed, and taken advantage of during what should have been a very special day for our daughter. We visited Ophelia's Wine & Bites for a moms' night out, and overall it's a cute spot with a lot of potential, though a few things didn't quite hit the mark. The atmosphere is charming, and the space itself appeared clean, but the place was completely empty during our visit, which surprised us. I ordered a Lambrusco from the sparkling section of the menu and expected something bubbly, but what came out was a still red wine. Everyone at the table was a little confused by that. Thankfully it still tasted good, so I kept it -- just not what I thought I ordered. For food, I had the crostini, which tasted good, but for the price I expected larger portions rather than very thin slivers of toasted bread with cheese and fruit. We also ordered the s'mores, which were fun and tasty, but again didn't quite feel worth the cost. A few more strawberries or a way to toast the marshmallows would've elevated it. The service was truly great, though. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, attentive, and checked on us often. She was definitely the highlight of the visit. The only real downside was seeing a few roaches on the wall. I know it's the South and it happens, but it's still not ideal in a dining setting, even in a place that otherwise seemed clean. This place has so much potential. The food itself is super good. But I can see why on a Friday night they were empty by like 8pm when they are open til 11pm. They had music, which in a space that small didn't need to be as loud as it was. The waitress we had was new which isn't an issue at all. She did mistake my friend ordering a beer for a food item on the menu. And she rarely checked up on us. We had also been done and ready for the check for 20 mins before she finally came over to ask us. On the other hand, I think the owner, at least she seemed like the owner. Though she was very friendly she also over shared. Complaining about how she was tired. And complaining about other things to not only us but others around us which got to be very uncomfortable. We ordered the trip dip dish. Which was good. It has hummus, guacamole, and basil pesto (you could choose a tomato pesto) it came with veggies and thin sliced bread. I wish it also came with the some bagel chips or some lots chip especially for the guacamole. My friend and I split a charcuterie board. Everything was good but we didn't get the right cheeses. And we asked for the correct cheese and still got the wrong one. The board was also too small for what all was on it making it difficult to get things off of it. This is a personal preference but I wish there was a pickled vegetable element to it. I did LOVE that the bread was sliced thinly and that they gave your crackers which I really liked. The s'mores desert was over priced for what you got. Also they gave you so much chocolate which wasn't needed and seemed like a waste. I wish that there was more strawberries and s'more element. This is EXACTLY the type of place Moncks Corner has been needing and I'm so glad Ophelia's is here! I stopped in for a first time visit late one Sunday afternoon and my friend and I ended up having the place all to ourselves before the Happy Hour/early dinner crowd began arriving. The two staff working were both super friendly and answered all of our questions. Service was fast and our wine glasses never remained empty long. I loved the variety of wines offered and for snacks we opted to try the charcuterie board and do a variety of their crostinis. The charcuterie we built was DELICIOUS and I'm still dreaming about their house made sun dried tomato goat cheese. By the time the crostinis came out we were starting to get full but I could have eaten the pistachio and brie cheese one aaaallll day. It was a wonderful way to pass a few hours on Main Street and I can't wait to return again to support this wonderful and local small business! Businesses like this are what Moncks Corner needs more of....not another chain fast food restaurant or big box retailer. Mayor Lockliear, please take note. read more

In town for the holiday. Lots of people hanging outside of the building. Security guard should enforce that you go inside. Too congested, not my true version of a Wine bar. I doubt if I will ever return. Why would the owner allowed people to hang outside ofvthe establishment. It spells TROUBLE..... read more

We just had a baby shower at ophelias and all I can say is wow ! She hosted around 40 of us , the catering was delicious and she stuck to our budget. The place was so cute we didnt even decorate. The service was spectacular and we plan on coming back for any other event in the future. What a gem ! read more

Finding this place on Yelp I had to try it, and Wow what a great time we had. They have a daily special where you can select two 1/2 sandwiches for $10, beats having the whole one, although I did, so I paid $13.50. I had tne BBQ Bano which I highly recommend, but it appears everything is awesome as the wife had a BLT + BBQ Bano, a friend had a BLT + Steak and another had a whole BLT. All of us highly enjoyed our sandwiches made by Nina who served us and entertained us. If you are in a rush this is not your place as it took Nina awhile to put it all together, but we're leisurely diners. Love it and recommend you try it. read more

Went tonight for the first time. We were invited out for a 80's DJ party and we went! Located in the middle of Main Street in Moncks Corner. Lots of street parking as well as a large parking lot just across the street . Very nice ambience, dimly lit with candles and a DJ playing 80's hits! We tried the crostini's with different toppings. I loved the strawberry one and the fig and goat cheese w honey. I had 2 glasses of Bubbles champagne. Very light and bubbly. Chatted with the owner for a few and she also served us. Very polite lady and made me feel very welcome. They do live music on Friday nights! So I think we'll check that out also.. I loved the eclectic decor and found the seating comfortable. Give them a try. I will go back. No pics because I ate our food before taking one. read more

Ophelia's is an awesome addition to Moncks Corner. The food is spot on. We love going for a charcuterie board and a glass of wine. The have rotating charcuterie items so you always have something new you can try. The BBQ sammie and the melt are amazing. They do Sunday brunch now with a special brunch menu and live music. Anytime we stop in they are welcoming and the owners and staff are attentive. It is new and they are still working out some kinks. We frequent this place probably too often! read more

We moved away, but this was one of our favorite spots. We would go here not only for the great selection, but the staff. We always felt welcome and remembered. Really like this place. Have been here 3 times now and everything is made fresh, tastes great and is a very reasonable price. Inside they're still working on the decor but don't let that fool you - the food here is amazing and it's worth the trip! I've had the charcuterie board (delicious and beautiful) - the medium was a perfect heavy app for 2 people. If it was dinner, I'd probably get a medium just for me. Wine is great too - had a few whites and the rose. Also had mushroom soup and moco melt - both great for a cold day! I don't eat grilled cheese sandwiches often but this is a splurge worth trying! Maybe we went on a bad night (Friday). But there were so many issues. The only front of house staff was the bar tender who had chick-fil-a on the counter (never a good sign in a place that serves food). We sat at a table that was insanely wobbly and sticky (2 tables pushed together, both unstable) and when she didn't come bring us a menu for awhile we went to the bar. Ordered 2 glasses of wine, she wandered around in circles, picked up some dirty dishes, walked around, looked at some wine labels....15 mins later poured our wine. Spilled half the carafe down the side of my glass so I got much less than I paid for. Ordered some charcuterie, they were out of several options that were on the board. An hour later... This place is filled with roaches, rude staff and managers, and mediocre food. When I came and needed help, the girl with glasses was more concerned on being on her phone than helping me. I've seen one of them go to throw trash out, and came back inside without washing their hands. Not to mention their food sits out for hours that's supposed to be refrigerated and then they'll serve it to people. Slack and disgusting. read more

Don't be fooled by the simple interior. The staff are very friendly. Not the largest wine or beer list around but a good selection of good wines and beers. The menu is short but the food is very very good. My wife and I were finally able to get our schedules together to enjoy a nice laid back lunch. Prices are very reasonable! We will certainly be back! This is such a cool historical place with great potential, but I feel as if it just came up short in so many areas. My wife and I left with so many ideas of what would make this place so much better. The hardwood floors and classic ceilings added good ambiance, however, the slapped together bar that you can still see the angle brackets on made it seem unfinished. The waitress, who was very hospitable and good, was setting the wine glasses out and making sure the napkins were placed correctly did well, but on that motif of furniture, just did not work. The bar could have been a striking centerpiece that really drew someone in, but alas it just seemed like a dull remnant of what could have been. Too much was clashing here. The new age shelf paper looking tables didn't coincide with the up scale wants of a "wine" bar, nor did the couches and green padded chars. Nothing was displayed as they boasted local libation's and obviously were pushing the wine enthusiast persona. I did see a couple of bottles behind the register, what wine was it and why wasn't it displayed, talked about, showcased? They did have a local list of beers written on an oversized chalkboard but even that seemed without effort or care in writing coherently. There were displays along the walls that were waisted space as this would have displayed the wine and beers that they seemed so proud of. Instead it was some arts and crafts pinned to the walls without rhyme or reason and hung on nails with carabiners. Just seemed thrown together. Am I at a wine bar or craft fair? Maybe having a showcase of a local artist and displaying them would be pleasant to the eye and compliment the atmosphere. Lots of waisted wall space. Not a picture in sight. I felt as if the run down couches, green padded chairs, shelf paper covered tables and craft fair displays were just to much clash. Is this edgy shabby chic or wine enthusiast hang out? So let's get to the food, the sandwich was good, fresh and well liked and priced. We ordered the charcuterie, another display oriented meal that must be done right to compliment the clientele and atmosphere, it did compliment the atmosphere as there was an effort. The goat cheese was good and the breads were a nice compliment. The salami was basic store bought stuff and the meat slices were small portions and dry, the crackers were basic wheat crackers. The thing with a dish like this is presentation as well as foods. It fell flat as I was expecting a bit more flair and flavors like prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, authentic biscuits/crackers all arrayed in a nice harmonic display. The mustard was basic deli and the other dish was just maple syrup. The board was drizzled in trail mix of raisins, nuts and dried banana slices. Eh! Basically the whole thing I could have done by myself from the local grocer for half the price. All in all it was not what would be expected when walking into a place named what it was in a historic part of town. read more
