I'd heard about Luxe from a friend and was in the mood for some wine. So I called her up and asked her if she'd liked to go for a glass or two. We went around 3:00 p.m. and it was not crowded at all. More people started arriving shortly after we sat down with our food and slowly filled in within the 2 hours that we were there. We decided to eat outside because the weather was nice and their outside area is extremely roomy. There is great parking, either on the side of the building or in the field behind their outside dining area. What's unique about this place is that it is an expresso bar and a wine bar. When you're placing your order the space inside looks kind of small but there is ample seating. It's broken up into four areas one is tucked back in the back that you don't see untill you go through the middle section. Customer service was great. The staff is very friendly. Turns out one of my former students works there. And she remembered my name. We ordered the smallest charcuterie board and it was much bigger than I was expecting it to be with all the sides that they include with it. The wine was great, but you can't go wrong on that. They have an outside bar area as well which was convenient for ordering. I would like to come back and try there brunch and some coffee. The place had such a relaxing vibe to it. Definitely enjoyed myself.

I'm sticking my review in the middle. And let me explain why: The staff is super friendly & helpful. I like the location & atmosphere. There's plenty of parking, and I absolutely love that they stay open late - even serving coffee at 11pm if that's what your heart desires - and mine does sometimes! Sometimes, the coffee is really good. Delicious. Sometimes, it's not. I've have a couple of drinks where I can only assume they way overdid it on the syrup or something & it made my jaw clench. Usually, I can deal with my drink being a little off, but once....I just tossed the whole drink in the trash. I have not tried their food, but I've sampled several coffee flavors & attended a movie night where they offered out popcorn to the guests. At this point, there are enough positives for me to continue to go & just hope I catch the flavors on a good day!

I visited Luxe for the first time today and traveled out of my way to give them a try. I feel like this place had some hits and misses. Positive Things-Customer Service, as soon as I entered a barista greeted me by saying good morning and hello, I felt welcomed which is a good sign. I appreciated that there was little to no wait time to receive my drink as well. The syrups tasted home made, not sure if they were, but they had a great authentic taste. They offered several sugar free flavors from caramel, vanilla to pumpkin and a few more. Negative Things- Communication amongst the staff or baristas particularly. I spent a couple of minutes explaining to the barista that I wanted my drink extra hot, with an extra espresso shot, and a combination of Sugar Free Syrups. The barista handed my order off to a co worker and did not share all of the instructions with the 2nd barista resulting in my drink not being as hot as I would have liked and they also forgot to add one of the flavor syrups. The drink (a latte) was ok, nice foam and frothy texture, the syrup flavor was great considering it was sugar free however the espresso taste wasn't as strong as I would have liked and the temperature was warmish hot, not pleased with that. I might return if I was in the area to give them another chance but wouldn't make a special trip. (This place is also a wine bar and has parking adjacent to the establishment.)

OMG!!! I want to move to Summerville because of Luxe Espresso And Wine Bar!!! Situated on a country road just outside of town, this little oasis disguised as a darling house offers everything!! Driving back to my friend's house, we saw a house lit up with a live band playing in the backyard. We thought, wait what was that?!?! So we turned around to check it out. We parked and listened to the band as we waited in line for a glass of wine. We started talking to people near us and learned that the front of the building is a coffee house. We had a glass of wine that night and returned the next day for a latte. The music on both days was fantastic. The talent is real. The staff was fantastic. They were so sweet and friendly. They even remembered us on our second visit. The back outdoor area is wide open with a ton of tables. The stage is set toward the back. Inside the house has several rooms with tons of seating. There are board games, books, toys for kids and more. I absolutely fell in love with this dynamic place that offers so much. And I look forward to returning the next time I visit my friend who is lucky enough to live in Summerville.

Have a drink, some food from the vendor of the evening, listen to some great live music and watch the game! Great Saturday night!

I have been here twice, once in the summer months to play bingo during the week but unfortunately it was rained out. We did get some really yummy food from the food truck that was there before it was rained out though. There is ample parking in the lot they have or you can park in the grass "lot" they have behind the building. There back area behind the building is nice, with a bunch of tables and chairs, picnic tables for larger groups, and to the side area they have chairs that around around small fire pits, which are really fun and cozy. The night I was there, they had the game on the TV outside and live music and a food truck too. Really nice and relaxing. You can get a beer or wine outside or inside the building. Inside is small but also cute. They serve their own menu of food inside. And they have a nice little brunch menu for Sundays. I have not been able to try it out for brunch yet but it is definitely on my list, and I will be sure to write an update as soon as I do. In the meantime, try it out during the week or to watch a game outside by the fire.

That's a cider. I forgot to take a better photo

Luxe is an OK place. I'm totally in love with the romantic aspect of wine out under the trees, but so much of the summer is too hot, much of our winter too cold and the bugs are oppressive all the time. It's got some cool inside seating and I love me a latte... It's got a tolerable craft beer menu. And I can drink any wine so long as it's not cheap.

This is my new favorite spot. Super cute atmosphere and the staff is very nice. I got the paninis pesto chicken and the Chipotle and it was delicious. They have coffee flights which was a really cool and fun experience. I really like the mocha praline and the snickers. I will come back to try more flavors.

charcuterie board and wine was good. service was very solid (5 star). Was told by management I was able to buy the bartender/server (obviously to take with her) and the manager karened her and didn't allow her to take a shot (management 2 star). The place can use a tune up but has a good base.

Didn't put egg on it, No butter, no cream cheese, and croissant was stale

It is enclosed and air conditioned and the tables are spaced out much more than on the inside. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and on point bringing their offerings. We started what would become our favorite dish of the night Scallops on the half shell. At first, you may balk at the price but believe me worth every penny. They were $26 at the time of this review but they are topped with two kinds of caviar. It was one of those dishes that after one bite you lean back and savor the flavors. The casino butter, sake and chili garlic will make your taste buds dance. I tried the chili garlic shrimp and gnocchi, and it was so good my wife threatened to steal it. Pillowy soft gnocchi in a rich, decadent sauce with hints of heat was outstanding. It is listed as a small plate, but I found the portion size quite filling. My wife had the oyster roll which was more like a po' boy not a sushi roll. We have had other oyster rolls, and they sometimes disappoint but not this one. Some restaurants just put a few oysters on the top of the bun and that's it, but this roll had oysters all throughout. It came with house made pickles and a single fried oyster on the side as a warmup. I highly recommend it. For dessert we shared a key lime pie semifreddo which was so pretty I almost felt bad for eating it. It was topped with a graham cracker crumble and both raspberry and lime curds. The texture reminding me of ice cream and was not overly tart with a nice hint of key lime. The torched flowers of meringue were really a great touch. The best word we both agreed on was "satisfying" and would definitely come back again!

Moving back to Charleston after 25 years or so means that while I'm a native, I'm also a "newbie…read moreaka noob" at the same time. However, to look at it in a positive light, I get to explore the area while somewhat knowing the "lay of the land," so to speak. Thus, when my uncle came up from Jacksonville and asked where we could go for a couple glasses of wine I had no clue, thus asking google. The place that I really liked was Accent on Wine. When I first pulled off Dorchester Rd, I thought I had bad directions b/c there wasn't much that set it apart - ie curb appeal from a distance. That all changed opening the door! Walking in the first thing you'll notice is the compact yet quaint wine selection. I love this type of atmosphere as appeals to my snobbish wine nature. The tables and floors are rustic, gleaming with multifunctional utilization that were obtained from an estate sale in the far country. The ceiling is a hybrid of open and closed exposure, being tastefully yet frugally composed. Decore is minimal yet tasteful yielding it's way to open white wall space. It's very tastefully thought out. Finally, as a lover of all things 80s, the music was spot on. Adam Ant, Depeche Mode and Flock of Seagulls really created an upbeat ambiance. I sat down then after watching other patrons I realized that ordering beverages and/or food meant you have to go to the bar offset on the right. No problem as I'm willing to engage in a new experience. Talking with the very nice bartender, it's set up this way to have the limited staff focus on important items like slinging suds or grapes and not inconvenienced with the complexities of life such as WALKING. I joke and I have no problem with the setup. Again, I want to reiterate the staff here are excellent; knowledgably in the menu and being able to engage in bar talk. If one were to consider Cheers as a reference point: the good attributes of Sam, Cliff and Norm mixed into two people. I literally just came from eating at La Minerva and while I would have loved to sample their menu I wasn't hungry. However, I did opt for a glass of wine. As stated before I love wines and more specifically red wines from either Bourdeau, Burgendy or Rhone and "son on a gun" they had a Cote-du-Rhone Villages 2022. To fill you guys in, I just moved from Austin TX and almost no where I went could you buy a French red wine by the glass, so pardon my elation! The wine was really good with a balance of black current, cherry and licorice while slowly melding on the tongue, rounding out the experience to a smooth landing. Not pretentious, not overpowering just a mellow experience while having enough tannis to poke you if you wanted to forget. Overall, I love this joint, my style of low-key, sophistication, supply of items I like and while there weren't many people there, the vibe was a mixture of life: whether it's sitting and relaxing or a more energetic affair. I'm extremely curious what the atmosphere is like in terms of more people hanging out and also the food. Today call me Arnold b/c "I'll be back...."

At no point did our waiter, Kevin, mention a substitution or check if that was acceptable. Unknowingly, we later ordered a bottle of the Magali wine--only to be brought a bottle of Folly Rosé, which wasn't even listed on the menu. When we asked about the discrepancy, instead of acknowledging the error or offering a correction, Kevin launched into a lengthy explanation of his wine background and justified the substitution by saying it was "similar." That's not the point--guests should be informed and given the choice, especially when ordering something specific. Substituting items without communication feels misleading, and the response we received only made it worse. Transparency and basic customer service would have gone a long way here. Since Folly wasn't on the menu, I'm hoping it was comparable in price to the Magali.

The hardware store even has a post office inside, so it's truly a one-stop-shop here. The outdoor area is gorgeous and filled with plants- and the plants are also for sale. I'm sure some customers spend a good bit on making their yards beautiful after a few beers. There's ample seating, with tons of chairs, small tables for groups of 2-3, and picnic tables. A food truck was there serving smash burgers, and I believe they have a rotation of food trucks since they don't serve food. Bolts and Brews is limited to beer and wine (no liquor), but you'll find plenty to drink. Draft beers are limited but marked on the menu. Many of the beers are canned, and you'll find local favorite breweries (Edmunds Oast, Snafu, Holy City) as well as a lot of beers from breweries in other states. This is the beauty of being mostly a canned beer spot. They also do flights of mimosas and at the time, offered a full six flavors of mimosa. I had a mimosa with a mixture of peach and mango juice, which the friendly beer-tender recommended. It was a good pour for only $6 and hit the spot after a VERY hot 5K in one of the neighborhoods nearby. You can grab a beer here after buying plants or shopping in the hardware store- and folks do- but Bolts and Brews is also a destination with comedy nights, bingo (the prizes are plants), sip and paint night, and live music on Fridays. The folks who manage this spot have really transformed it from a hardware store to a place where the community can gather.
