We absolutely loved this place. It's such a cozy spot right in Summerville -- and honestly, it was so nice not having to go all the way into Charleston. We actually stumbled upon Luxe Bar & Bistro while planning to head downtown, but a bridge closure caused major traffic, so we decided to change plans and just find somewhere local to enjoy a holiday cocktail. After checking reviews online, Luxe Bar & Bistro stood out, so we decided to give it a try -- and we're so glad we did. They have a large outdoor space, but of course, it started to rain as soon as we arrived. Luckily, they also have a covered front patio with a few chairs, which worked out perfectly. We each ordered two cocktails. I started with Under the Mistletoe -- Tito's, house-made rosemary simple syrup, lemon juice, topped with soda ($10). This was hands down the most delicious holiday drink I've had so far this season. It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and hit the spot. I also tried the seasonal special, a Pomegranate Cranberry Sangria ($10), which was equally good. My husband ordered the Tipsy Grinch-- Malibu rum, mango purée, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and soda water ($9.50). He said it was sweet but not overly sweet and really enjoyed it. He also had the Dirty Snowman Martini with RumChata, Disaronno Amaretto, vanilla vodka, and a cinnamon sugar rim ($13). He substituted almond milk for the half-and-half, and it was still creamy and delicious. We also had a great conversation with Natalie and quickly realized we had a lot in common, especially when it comes to dogs and the importance of pet safety. I always love meeting a fellow dog mom who shares the same values. The service and ambiance were excellent, and the space was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We will 100% be back -- and next time, we definitely plan on trying the food. read more

I love this place so much. When I come to town for a visit this is a MUST STOP for me. The food is always delicious. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I've always been impressed. My favorites are the Italian sub as a sandwich option (Italian subs are my go to when trying a new restaurants). The baked brie is out of this world! Whoever thought of adding hot honey on top is a genius! It is a must try. And, the nachos, OMG, the nachos. They are literally a mountain of goodness. I'd heard about Luxe from a friend and was in the mood for some wine. So I called her up and asked her if she'd liked to go for a glass or two. We went around 3:00 p.m. and it was not crowded at all. More people started arriving shortly after we sat down with our food and slowly filled in within the 2 hours that we were there. We decided to eat outside because the weather was nice and their outside area is extremely roomy. There is great parking, either on the side of the building or in the field behind their outside dining area. What's unique about this place is that it is an expresso bar and a wine bar. When you're placing your order the space inside looks kind of small but there is ample seating. It's broken up into four areas one is tucked back in the back that you don't see untill you go through the middle section. Customer service was great. The staff is very friendly. Turns out one of my former students works there. And she remembered my name. We ordered the smallest charcuterie board and it was much bigger than I was expecting it to be with all the sides that they include with it. The wine was great, but you can't go wrong on that. They have an outside bar area as well which was convenient for ordering. I would like to come back and try there brunch and some coffee. The place had such a relaxing vibe to it. I'm sticking my review in the middle. And let me explain why: The staff is super friendly & helpful. I like the location & atmosphere. There's plenty of parking, and I absolutely love that they stay open late - even serving coffee at 11pm if that's what your heart desires - and mine does sometimes! Sometimes, the coffee is really good. Delicious. Sometimes, it's not. I've have a couple of drinks where I can only assume they way overdid it on the syrup or something & it made my jaw clench. Usually, I can deal with my drink being a little off, but once....I just tossed the whole drink in the trash. I have not tried their food, but I've sampled several coffee flavors & attended a movie night where they offered out popcorn to the guests. At this point, there are enough positives for me to continue to go & just hope I catch the flavors on a good day! read more

I visited Luxe for the first time today and traveled out of my way to give them a try. I feel like this place had some hits and misses. Positive Things-Customer Service, as soon as I entered a barista greeted me by saying good morning and hello, I felt welcomed which is a good sign. I appreciated that there was little to no wait time to receive my drink as well. The syrups tasted home made, not sure if they were, but they had a great authentic taste. They offered several sugar free flavors from caramel, vanilla to pumpkin and a few more. Negative Things- Communication amongst the staff or baristas particularly. I spent a couple of minutes explaining to the barista that I wanted my drink extra hot, with an extra espresso shot, and a combination of Sugar Free Syrups. The barista handed my order off to a co worker and did not share all of the instructions with the 2nd barista resulting in my drink not being as hot as I would have liked and they also forgot to add one of the flavor syrups. The drink (a latte) was ok, nice foam and frothy texture, the syrup flavor was great considering it was sugar free however the espresso taste wasn't as strong as I would have liked and the temperature was warmish hot, not pleased with that. I might return if I was in the area to give them another chance but wouldn't make a special trip. (This place is also a wine bar and has parking adjacent to the establishment.) read more

OMG!!! I want to move to Summerville because of Luxe Espresso And Wine Bar!!! Situated on a country road just outside of town, this little oasis disguised as a darling house offers everything!! Driving back to my friend's house, we saw a house lit up with a live band playing in the backyard. We thought, wait what was that?!?! So we turned around to check it out. We parked and listened to the band as we waited in line for a glass of wine. We started talking to people near us and learned that the front of the building is a coffee house. We had a glass of wine that night and returned the next day for a latte. The music on both days was fantastic. The talent is real. The staff was fantastic. They were so sweet and friendly. They even remembered us on our second visit. The back outdoor area is wide open with a ton of tables. The stage is set toward the back. Inside the house has several rooms with tons of seating. There are board games, books, toys for kids and more. I absolutely fell in love with this dynamic place that offers so much. And I look forward to returning the next time I visit my friend who is lucky enough to live in Summerville. read more

I discovered Luxe through Game Night Charleston's trivia night that just started there on Thursdays. The building was originally a house, so the inside has a few different open rooms and is very cozy. I could see meeting a friend here for lunch or even coming out for a coffee date on a Saturday morning. They have a large outside area, complete with an outdoor bar. I felt like extra tables kept appearing before my eyes - they have a LOT of tables outdoors. This is great since Charleston can really accommodate outdoor dining for most of the year. And pro tip - the outdoor bar has bug spray, and they had some little mini-fans for tables. They also bring out the little food tents to keep bugs out of your food, like my Grandma used to have. Adorable. Anyway. They have a great selection of local and local-ish brews and wine. Their charcuterie boards are out of this world delicious and overflowing with bites. They've only been open a few months so they're still learning and finding their sweet spot, but the staff is really friendly and happy to answer questions. Great spot with lots of potential. I have been here twice, once in the summer months to play bingo during the week but unfortunately it was rained out. We did get some really yummy food from the food truck that was there before it was rained out though. There is ample parking in the lot they have or you can park in the grass "lot" they have behind the building. There back area behind the building is nice, with a bunch of tables and chairs, picnic tables for larger groups, and to the side area they have chairs that around around small fire pits, which are really fun and cozy. The night I was there, they had the game on the TV outside and live music and a food truck too. Really nice and relaxing. You can get a beer or wine outside or inside the building. Inside is small but also cute. They serve their own menu of food inside. And they have a nice little brunch menu for Sundays. I have not been able to try it out for brunch yet but it is definitely on my list, and I will be sure to write an update as soon as I do. I'm totally in love with the romantic aspect of wine out under the trees, but so much of the summer is too hot, much of our winter too cold and the bugs are oppressive all the time. This was only my second time here. The first time was fine. I got a menu without asking for one, was waited on promptly and the food and my drink were both great. This second time, my order was incorrect the first time. When I asked for a corrected item, the item brought to me was still incorrect. It is definitely my fault that I did not complain again, but it also bothers me a bit that no one came back to make sure my drink was as I expected it to be. I asked that it not be sweet, and lo and behold, guess what, it was still sweet. I will definitely go back, because most places vary in quality now and then. read more

God Awful. Wasted Six bucks on a Frappichino. it tasted literally like dirt. it was supposed to be a strawberry shortcake flavored. I wish I was kidding about the taste but, indeed, it did not taste good. I took it back and they said that's what it supposed to taste like. I only get Frappuccino's twice a week at Starbucks. It was not only a waste of money, but I guess I was pissed because I left her a good tip. Thete were only four of us. Three coffees and my Frapachino. It was $24.00... $6.00 per drink! I tip good...$6.00 . I dont mind paying alot..,.. but my drink was bad and everyone else said it was no different than any coffee from any gas station. This is my new favorite spot. Super cute atmosphere and the staff is very nice. I got the paninis pesto chicken and the Chipotle and it was delicious. They have coffee flights which was a really cool and fun experience. I really like the mocha praline and the snickers. I will come back to try more flavors. read more

I was super excited to try a new place so I asked hubs to go to work late just to try it. I LOVE coffee, trying new places and exploring where I live. Well... hate to say but extremely disappointed in the waste of our morning off. The coffee was ok. Nothing to write home about but not bad. The food? HORRIBLE. Spent over $50 and threw majority of the food away. The avocado toast was at least day old or way over ripe avocado. The color should have warned me but i went for the taste test anyway. Big mistake! I had to spit it out! The breakfast sandwich? No butter, no cream cheese just a tiny pathetic piece of cheap cheese and stands of bacon. The grapes even made our baby gag. They were awful and moldy. I got a massive push of penicillin taste because I grabbed one without looking popping it into my mouth and truly regretting it. Stopped in Luxe to check the place and ended up spending the evening! It was a Friday night and they had karaoke going outside, the outside bar was super convenient and the service was excellent. I also went inside and the girl waiting on me, Abbie was very friendly. The vibe was very chill and everyone was very nice. Overall a really good experience and they told me they do trivia on Tuesdays! Was needing a good coffee fix and wanted to try somewhere new. I have lived in Summerville since 2015 and had never heard of this place. What a sweet surprise! I got the valentines special with white mocha and strawberry and my better half got a s'mores latte. They blew us away!
