Have been wanting to try this restaurant for ages. Oh man, the wait was worth it! Cutest space, and friendliest staff. Had a definite Japan vibe, and heard Japanese customers thanking the staff respectfully while I was waiting for my takeout. Cash only! Got one of the special rolls- the Celtics roll. It had shrimp tempura inside and cucumber, and torched salmon and avocado on top. Also got some inari, which is one of my go-to rolls at any sushi place- sweet tofu skin roll. Comes with miso soup and a can of soda. Felt warm inside, like a neighborhood place. I snapped some photos of some of the specials I noticed- which must make it fun, and shake things up day to day.
Cute spot for lunch. It's pretty dated, but cozy and the owner was by himself when we came for lunch. The sushi is great price to ratio and very filling. Ofc we went for the flaming bruins maki, the baked scallop maki, and the red dragon maki. Now i must say majority of the maki have shrimp tempura in it as a base with various tuna and salmon etc on top. Great flavors and he's generous with the portions. The sashimi was fresh and large slices! The agedashi tofu needed to be heated more but the owner made that right real fast! Thank you for that! Overall this isn't a super fancy, super high end priced spot. If you want good flavors fresh fish and at a good price, come support him! Will be back! (3.5/5 overall score imo) On side note there was a "sewer-y" smell down there which was a bit off putting but not sure if it was the space, the old building or the street somewhere.
Over the years, I have heard great things about Oppa Sushi in Allston. Oppa Sushi is the epitome of "hole in the wall". Located in a basement setting, it has a little bit of a run down aesthetic, but exceptional sushi for can't be beat prices. One time a few years ago, one of my friends and I were planning to try this place out, however, I did not make it down the stairs because I could not get over this sewer-like smell. Fast forward two years later... I finally decided to visit (there is still that sewer like smell but I really wanted to try the fire bruins maki). We were greeted by the owner upon walking in and we were served miso soup right after being seated ;) For food, we ordered the sashimi appetizer, agedashi tofu, fire bruins maki, red dragon maki, & the patriots maki. **the rolls are super generous & filling! I enjoyed the rolls & sashimi appetizer. My favorite was the one with the imitation crab & scallops. I do not believe that one is "baked" because it did come cold, which is all right, but an observation. Most of the rolls here have tempura included with the exception of a couple. The agedashi tofu we ordered unfortunately was served cold. We notified the owner and he was able to heat it up for us, no problem. Our experience here is really a 3.5/5, but the owner was very nice & kind ;) This is a good place to go for fairly priced sushi; very generous portions, the rolls are huge !
I've been to Oppa Sushi a few times now and there's a reason for that! The food is great and fresh! Prices are fair and is not something I would complain about. The atmosphere could be better. The restaurant is literally like in a basement. The tables and chairs felt cheap and there wasn't a whole lot of seating available so plan ahead if you have a big group. We tried a variety of rolls, one of which came out flaming which was definitely cool! FOOD: 8.5/10 SERVICE: 7.5/10 (nothing exceptional)
Our experience: We have been excited to try this place for a while!!! Entered down the stairs of a dark restaurant that looks run down and slightly dirty. Very much in need of a makeover. We are seated at the back in the corner going up another random uneven step again. We are served water only after we ask and the cups are face down at the table. We pour into what turns out to be a dirty greasy cup smelling like peanuts. We ask to order, and about their toro nigiri, we are how much and end up being charged double what originally told.. We ordered tea that never came and ended up asking for our order to go just to be able to go home to eat it. The food: very mediocre. I've had comparable sushi at an all-you-can-eat buffet. The toro was some of the worst I've had, poorly cut and not the greatest taste. I personally wouldn't recommend this place until they get their food, service, and ambiance in order.
I was skeptical based on the aging exterior of the restaurant, and the homey interior of wooden tables and two separate rooms didn't change my first impression. On the other hand, my guest and I had first-rate sushi rolls and enjoyed every bite. We ordered the Patriots Maki, Red Dragon Maki, and California Maki. It was fresh, it was tasty, it was colorful, and every roll held together well. The complimentary miso soup sang with umami and soy. I would've ordered more but it was only lunchtime and we had a big dinner planned. If I had to note some negatives - yes, the rice is juuuuuust slightly less starchy than you might want, and more vinegar might bring things into balance. But these in my book are not enough to warrant taking off one star. Moreover I'm just no fan of using QR codes for menus on my phone. There is a 5% surcharge for credit cards (definitely on the high end!), so bring cash.
i adore oppa sushi. this is my favorite take-out sushi place, a reliable good. they have great specialty rolls and they come at a good deal. i've actually never sat in and ordered food here, only take out and this is the thing i look forward to the most after a long week. i pretty much always get the crazy maki, and mix it up with other special rolls.
I ordered sushi here for my family...I don't eat sushi, however. As such, I can only tell you this little hole in the wall offers great service and has a pretty broad menu with cooked/raw foods. I ordered the sashimi deluxe and its about $40 and came with 2 very small miso soups. The family seemed to enjoy it. We've been here before a few times, so that must mean we enjoy it.
The sake-don bowls are $27.50 for 15 pieces of salmon. Pretty good price for fresh-tasting salmon. Their sushi rice is a little underwhelming, which docks them a point to 4. Other than that, I have no complaints. We ordered takeout and the pickup process was very smooth. I would definitely come back! Even though we only got sake-don bowls, their a la carte sushi prices also look fair. I hope to try their sushi sometime!
It's taken me a long time to find my favorite sushi in Boston, and this is it! It's so good I had it twice in the span of four days. We first came here on a Saturday night, with the wait being about half an hour. You can enjoy some boba from the nearby Tiger Sugar while you wait outside. The restaurant is partially underground and cozy. You know you're going to eat some authentic Asian food when they have you sitting essentially in their storage supply area. Our server had initially forgotten about us, but the heart-shaped sushi that they brought out to us made up for it. We ordered the Oppa maki, red dragon maki, and super crunch maki. They were all incredible! Super flavorful, with the perfect ratio of toppings. You can tell that the fish is good quality too. For the three maki, it was about $45 pre-tip, which is a great price for how full the two of us were! I'm super picky about sushi, because I often feel like the price isn't worth how hungry I am afterwards. At Oppa, I can assure you you're getting your money's worth!!
I ordered their spicy roll combo ($18) which came with 8 pieces each of spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, and spicy salmon. Whereas the other sushi places I order from will mix the fish with spicy mayo, the rolls here were plain but topped with spicy mayo instead. The rolls tasted nice but were small. I also got the mango madness combo ($35) which came with 3 rolls: pink lady, french kiss, and salmon mango harmony. The pink lady roll is a soy paper roll with salmon, avocado, cream cheese, mango, and tobiko. I personally prefer nori rolls instead of soy paper rolls. The combination of avocado and cream cheese in the roll made it have a very creamy texture-- this could be a good or bad thing depending on your preference. I wasn't too big of a fan. The french kiss roll had cream cheese, avocado, and mango inside, then was topped with thick cuts of salmon and tuna. The fish was fresh and thick. This roll was pretty similar to the pink lady but I preferred this one because it had nori and the fish-to-everything else ratio was much higher. The salmon mango harmony roll had salmon and mango, topped with more salmon and mango. Probably the best of the three rolls in terms of flavor (maybe I just like simple rolls?), but the rice was very thick on this one. The rolls were barely filled. The mango in all the rolls was on the crunchier side. It was sweet, but was fibrous rather than soft. The combos came with miso soup as well. I know things get complicated with delivery and sometimes food cools down but this miso soup was so cold I wouldn't be surprised if it had been sitting on the countertop for an hour. I liked their spicy rolls but I wouldn't recommend the mango rolls (unless you're just a really big fan of mango). The prices are good for what you get, but the rolls are on the skinny side. While everything tasted good, I was disappointed by the cold miso soup.

This place is all around good. I ordered hand roll special but substituted the tuna for extra salmon avocado due to dietary intolerance. Rolls were good. Recommend to eat in, while the nori got a little moist on way home. Flavour was good. Price is very good. Interior of restaurant wasn't horrible. Seems definitely divey. I just expect restaurants to be tidier. Two separate rooms are available for dining. Waited 15 mins for a couple of hand rolls on not a busy night. Friendly staff. I'd go there again for the good sushi deals! read more

i love love LOVE this spot! i have been here a few times and the food was divine each time! this is my go to spot if i am craving sushi or maki. a few of my favorite dishes are the spider maki, black dragon maki, fire maki, and the frenchkiss maki. all of the dishes taste super fresh and very yummy. the staff is also always friendly. i highly highly recommend checking this spot out if you're in the allston area. read more
This was our first time trying a new sushi place by our new home and when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying they are closed from 3-4 for a break. After the great reviews and yummy sounding sushi options we waited it out nearby and thankfully so, we were beyond impressed. As soon as they opened back up the staff was immediately welcoming, quick to seat us, and we were served all our dishes fairly quick. The sushi is worth every penny and very affordable menu items range for every budget and there's something for everyone on the menu. We ordered 4 rolls to share, the spicy salmon ball as an appetizer and it came with miso soup which was a nice surprise! Already can't wait for our next visit! read more
There is too much to say about my disappointment with Oppa Sushi in not only the food but also the service we have had. I have ordered takeout from Oppa Sushi in the past, but this was my first time dining in and would be my last. Coming in, we ordered the baked spicy scallop maki, caterpillar maki, Allston maki, spicy salmon maki, patriots maki, and don katsu. The server handed us water jugs but did not give us cups, which we had to request from her. Later when the sushi was served, we were not given plates, napkins, or chopsticks - all of which we had to individually remind our server to provide for us. I understand forgetting in the beginning if you were not prepared to seat us, but the restaurant was not overly busy, so I can not comprehend why she was not aware of what our table was missing. After eating the sushi, we noticed that we were not full, so we also added the Celtics maki and lion king maki. When the two additional maki orders came out, we noticed that it had been over 30 minutes since we had yet to receive our previously ordered don katsu. We reminded another server who kindly came to our table, and he found out that our previous server had neglected to put the order in properly. We decided to wait for the katsu, which ended up taking at least another half of an hour for it to come out. Our female server did not even acknowledge or apologize for her mistake. Despite this lack of service, they had automatically charged our table for an 18% gratuity, which I find absolutely shameless when we barely had decent service. None of the sushi were honestly that remarkable in taste. They were drowned in spicy mayo sauce, making it hard to differentiate the taste between each maki. The katsu was also pretty mediocre with the rice being the only saving grace of the dish. Needless to say, I will be going elsewhere for better sushi and service. read more

I want to start out this review by saying this is based solely on our EXPERIENCE - nothing about the food! Today I went ahead and ordered through Oppa Sushi's Instagram where it directed me to TOAST to select delivery or pick up. I wanted to surprise my husband with lunch so I splurged on the sushi selection and opted for delivery. My husband was alerted that his meal had been delivered 7 minutes after it had been picked up from the restaurant. No problem. He'll wait and be patient. Fast forward 1 hour - we go ahead and contact the delivery driver and the number suddenly no longer exists. At this point, we're worried about the $ lost (granted my husband is still starving) - I go ahead and reach out to DoorDash and was explained immediately that they can't help me. Cue the panic. I went ahead and contacted Oppa directly and spoke to a really kind woman that was extremely helpful! She spoke with her manager a few times explaining the situation and immediately contacted me back and refunded our money. I can't praise this business enough for understanding this frustrating situation for us! They handed food over to a delivery driver in hopes the customer would receive it and we never did. They did the right thing and refunded us. I hope that I'll be able to update my review soon to personally go in and thank them (as well as feed my husband) Thanks Oppa Sushi!! read more

Oppa Sushi's Chef's special is it's stand out factor. It's a great option for celebrating birthdays or a special occasion because you will be wowed by the presentation and number of dishes included. They will adjust the portion according to the size of your party, but for the most part to comfortably finish everything-you should have at least 3-4 people to your party. The Chef's special is fish/seafood themed that is comprised of 2 courses. The first course is a blend of cooked and raw seafood- oysters, salmon nigiri, sashimi, and maki. As for cooked food, there's monkfish liver (ankimo), tempura, hamachi kama (grilled yellow tail fish collar), grilled octopus, clams, and fish under a pile of veggies and spicy sauce. The second course consists of a fish-tofu stew, Korean ramen, and a maki roll literally in flames. Dessert includes mochi ice cream. You need to call ahead of time to make a reservation for the Chef's special. By the time you arrive, the entire first course will be already set up on the table for you to start eating! For a party of 9 people, with 2 bottles of soju, and 2 x chef's special= it was $61 per person. ---- I'm always STUFFED by the end of the meal. Even with 9 people, we were struggling at the end to finish the stew. Come very hungry! Overall Oppa Sushi is a very homey, quaint Korean-Sushi restaurant in Allston. Went in with high expectations seeing the 4.5/5 star reviews on Google reviews and Yelp. Sadly the experience was quite disappointing. We were originally planning to dine in but the restaurant interior just wasn't particularly inviting and there was a musty smell in the atmosphere right after we entered the restaurant. We still wanted to try the sushi so we opted to get takeout instead. We ordered one salmon maki ($6) and one tuna maki ($6.50). Each maki came with six pieces of sushi. For around $1 per piece, the quality was mediocre at best. The salmon and tuna fish were just ok, and there was way too much rice. We also didn't like how they added a bunch of scallions in each piece of sushi. Really don't know why they are trying to be overly innovative with their makis as it did not mention there were scallions included in the makis. We won't be coming back here again. read more

I was craving bibimbap so I decided to stop in. The staff were super friendly and service was quick (it's just assembling vegetables anyway). Got the vegetable bibimbap, no egg, to make it vegan. They have a few other vegan options like avocado rolls and tofu skin rolls but they are all very basic and probably not worth the price. The meal came with free miso soup which was nice, not too salty. The bibimbap itself was very standard, normal banchan and everything but they added avocado so that was a non traditional but yummy touch. There are signs saying uni (sea urchin) is back so if you're interested, it's there lol. They played a BTS sing so that was fun. :) I think I'm gonna do a tour of bibimbaps in the area, so we'll see how this one ranks when I have something to compare it to. read more

I'm a big fan of Oppa Sushi! It is a small Korean sushi restaurant, which you would walk downstairs to enter. The food is consistently delicious, and the owner/staff are always friendly. The Special Makis come with eight pieces each. I've tried Red Dragon Maki, Rainbow Maki, Fire Bruins Maki, Lion King Maki, Celtics Maki, Baked Spicy Scallop Maki! My favorite is the Fire Bruins Maki, which is shrimp tempura topped with torched yellowtail! Also, I usually get Sashimi Don, which is Chef's choice of raw fish on top of a bed of greens, and served with miso soup and rice! Definitely worth the price for the large portion size! Oppa Sushi is super active on IG, so definitely follow them for updates. read more

*Celtics Maki. Omggggggggggggg.* In Boston for my graduation and didn't feel like going out to dinner after. Call me laid back but a chill night in my hotel was all I was looking for. The hubby and I decided to check out some local take out and in honor of the Cleveland vs. Celtics game I opted for the Celtics Maki from Oppa Sushi.....Fantastic Choice made by Muah!!! Filled with everything I appreciate in a delicious sushi roll: - Shrimp Tempura - Salmon - Avocado - More Avocado If there was some cream cheese in here I'd be in heaven (shoutout to the classic Philadelphia roll, my typical sushi go to) Anyways, my roll was delicious. Hubby got out the car but it's located on a busy street with other local bars and pubs. Apparently in the inside it looks like a hole in the wall spot, but let's me honest....those tend to have some of the best food. Also, opened my bag to find a free miso soup, not my cup of tea, but appreciate the freebie! Try it out for yourself and let me know your thoughts!!! #BUMET2018 read more

The food was actually pretty good (didn't blow me away), but it was really hard to stomach given the fly buzzing around our table and how dirty the inside of the restaurant was. There seemed to be no upkeep to the inside or outside of the restaurant. Given the good reviews, we figured we had to give it a try, but the negatives just outweighed the positives for me. When it comes to sushi, you don't really want to feel like you're eating from a dingy place. The service was really nice; it really was too bad that I couldn't get past the mental block of the environment. The 2 stars is an average between the 3.5 star food and 1 Star for the "ambiance." read more

First time here, feels like a Korean sushi place but unexpectedly delicious Vegetable tempura - very tasty, kinda different from the other places and the sauce is amazing! Frenchie kiss maki roll - a salmon avocado type of maki roll with cheese inside, which is creative and delicious out of expectation! Eel cucumber maki roll - not very impressive but def not bad! Sashimi don - another creative, healthy and tasty option! It's like a Japanese style poke bowl but with Korean sauce, highly recommend! Food is amazing! Service is kind of slow ... the meal for two of us girls cost about $54, def will come back again! read more

I arrived 5 minutes after the order pickup time I was given and the food took an additional 20 minutes for a fairly small order. The spicy roll combo was drenched in so much sauce to the point that it was soggy and nearly inedible. I tried to wipe off as much as I could but it was challenging. The crazy maki was acceptable, but not great. The miso soup was fine. I know the pandemic has been challenging for restaurants, and I rarely leave a negative review, but this was not a good meal and I felt it required a review. I am giving three stars to avoid being overly punitive. read more

Actual rating for the sushi: 2.5 Oppa is right on Harvard in the Allston area. It is a small restaurant with a cozy and intimate feel to it. Don't miss it on the street! We ordered the edamame and different kinds of sushi. I got the basic Tuna Avocado Maki and the Salmon Mango Harmony, which came with miso soup. The plating was beautiful with the pieces lined up and separated by a flower. Maybe I should have ordered rolls with more of a bang, but I was unimpressed with both rolls. The salmon mango roll was bland, not sure if that is a sign of the quality of the fish or not. If simple is what you want, the basic makis will be a good place to start. Someone at the table next to me got what looked like an amazing bowl of soup - something I'll need to try if I come back. They seem to be better rated, so I'd recommend those over the sushi here. read more

Food was not fresh, loud obnoxious music, and taste was not authentic. Looked promising but was underwhelming. Yelp brought us here in the first place, and big time let down. Would have preferred McDonald's next door. read more
I forgot where I saw their Fire Bruins Maki, but I had to try it! This restaurant is small, maybe the size of your kitchen? Also, the outside and inside looks didn't give much trust compared to the other restaurants in the area. But that's okay! The Fire Bruins Maki was cool to watch and eat. It had shrimp tempura and torched yellowtail. Reminded me of my favorite roll (Godzilla Roll from another place), but had more pieces. I also enjoyed their ttepokki, which was spicy for me, but it of the sweet kind, which I like. Other than that, the staff was very hospitable, the chef was chatting w/ us and checked up on our food. He was even concerned that the AC was too cold for us. For this hospitable service, I'd highly recommend coming here. PS: They close at 11pm read more
Drove by this place quite a few times and never thought to try it, but I noticed its positive Yelp status. Gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised. Thought the chirashi could've had slightly more volume given it's price but nevertheless it was a solid bowl. Can't go wrong with gyoza. Maki were clean and tasty. We had to take some of the katsu curry home, but that was a well-made dish too. read more
The fish here is so so fresh!! The first time I came I had a salmon cucumber and spicy tuna roll and I was blown away by freshness. This really is a hole in the wall but don't let that fool you, the quality is outstanding. Also if you want low carb options, try the spicy salmon ball (pictured) and the naruto roll. read more

I'm a regular here, both dine-in and takeout. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall type place, but the special rolls are amazing and such good value so I come back all the time! We got 4 special rolls for 2 people and it was plenty of food. I only managed to get a picture of the fire bruins maki, but we also love the Patriots maki, crunch maki, black dragon roll, salmon tataki, and kimbap! read more
Three rolls and soup and I was stuffed and happy. This meal fed two to satisfaction and cost I think less than $60? All the maki rolls were BEYOND good. I was savoring every moment each one was in my mouth. The salmon on top of the lion king maki was so perfect, especially in combination with the rest of the roll, that I wanted to cry a little. The scallop maki had such a beautiful balance of flavors I would have ordered several more rolls had I not already been full. The mango and salmon was actually harmonious - you can't go wrong with this combination, but you can go right, and this was VERY right. Not to mention the presentation was glorious. If I'd only eaten the maki, this would have been a five star experience. I took a star off because for supposed seafood ramen, there was very little seafood in the ramen. It was fine Korean-style ramen, though the noodles were a little too well done (although I prefer mine quite chewy). The broth was good and the portion size was generous. But there were like three mussels in the entire thing and not much other seafood. I get that you don't go to a sushi place for ramen, but I'd heard good things about their noodle dishes - and if seafood ramen's gonna be on the menu, I would expect it to be a little more seafoody. BUT - I'll be back for the maki. And I'll probably up my review to 5 stars. Because the maki is that good. read more

Just okay. We live a 10 minute walk away, always see this placed packed on weekend nights, and finally decided to give it a try on a Sunday around 5:30. We were the only ones there, woo! The mismatched decor and Interior of this place is oddly comforting. It gives off a no-frills, homey vibe that only a local business can give. Prices are great, service was pleasant, but the food is where it fell short. The rice was too mushy, seriously lacking in vinegar, and the soy sauce tasted heavily diluted (and for some reason...also sweet?) Good enough for a sushi craving, but will most likely not be returning. read more
The restaurant is located basement level on Harvard Ave in Allston Brighton, MA. Parking is very limited. Fortunately, it is walking distance from public transportation, green line T stop and near a bus stop. The interior is very modest. You are immediately greeted by the chef and waiters upon entering. There are only about 6 tables in the small restaurant. The restaurant is not ideal for groups larger than 6. It can probably accommodate 8 by pushing tables together but not comfortably. We waited 15 minutes on a Thursday night. My son was restless but I could see the chef peering over and smiling at him which made me feel very at ease. There was a family with three children seated at the right corner of the restaurant where we were seated next to. I was very pleased with the cozy, welcoming and casual atmosphere. The chef was very accommodating with our request for a half size portion of the flounder sashimi versus the full size plate. I've never been to a sushi restaurant that served large portion of sashimi. I believe the most expensive plate cost $60. Our sashimi plate came with gojuchang, a Korean thick red sweet and peppery dipping sauce. It looks spicy but is more sweet. The flounder sashimi was fresh and I enjoyed it. My brother and husband said it didn't have much flavor and would order something different next time. I think it's a great dish to share if you come in a larger group. The green tea was a bit disappointing and so was the hot milk green tea. The green tea didn't have much flavor, the hot green milk tea on the other hand was fragrant but the milk made it like warm white did not go well together. We also ordered one order of ameabi sashimi to which the chef gave us one additional shrimp complementary since we were a party of four and the sashimi came in three pieces. They were fresh, but I do missed the fried tempura shrimp head that I am accustomed to getting at other sushi restaurants when I order this dish. I believe you have to ask for the monkfish liver dish since I couldn't find it on the menu. The monkfish liver has the texture of pate and is buttery. It comes dressed in scallions and ponzu sauce. The hamachi kama (grilled yellowtail collar) was very standard but delicious none the less. The Patriots Maki that a lot of Yelpers raved about truly lived up to its reputation. It was delicious. The torched scallop on top of the roll very fresh. I would definitely order this again. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. I would definitely come again to try their Korean dishes also. My favorite thing about this place is the flaming sushi. Definitely worth going to experience and bringing any sushi loving friends. Actually, even if they aren't sushi-loving, they might be after going to Oppa Sushi. The service is very friendly, but it's a small place, so definitely make a reservation if you're going for dinner on a weekend. The owner/chef is Korean, but does a killer job on the Japanese food. There's a wide variety of food as well, so even if you don't like raw fish, there's probably something you can find on their menu that will suit your tastebuds, as long as if you like Asian food. We went there on a casual Sunday night just wanting to get some high quality comfort food (think - some maki, ramen, bibimbap..) , but discovered that they have a special Korean style Omakase on the menu (it was $55/pp.. which is a lot cheaper than any Japanese style Omakase in the Boston area). We asked the server what it included, she couldn't tell us exactly, but said that normally only Korean people would order it... Didn't know what to expect, but ordered it anyways to be adventurous. I would say that what came out was a total feast!! There were about 15 different dishes including -- monkfish liver, torched salmon belly, squid salad, fried calamari, shrimp tempura, a whole fish sashimi (called tautog - never had it before!), uni sashimi, clams, oysters, a few tuna nigiris, a special maki, a bowl of ramen, a Korean spicy seafood/tofu stew, and more (look at the photos for all the amazing dishes)!! There was so much food that we couldn't even finish them (which never happens for a normal Omakase). Since it is Korean style, it came with lettuce, sliced garlic, soybean paste and red pepper paste, so you can assemble your own lettuce wraps with the sashimi - a new way of eating sashimi and it was delicious! Our quick comfort food journey turned out to be a two and half hour feast, but everything was so fresh and flavorful and I was able to try things that I've never had before. What an experience and totally worth the price! I highly recommend it if you want to explore Korean food and try something different. read more

First time here since I seen some great reviews online. Small place in the lower level of a building. It's somewhat surprisingly packed. Came here for dinner and we were greeted by the owner and staffs. We started to order the apps (hamachi kama), the dragon roll, sea urchin, Tina nigiri and miso was provided. All came out very appealing and attractive. I felt the hamachi is a little small but grill to perfection. The sushi rice could have been better in the rolls we ordered. If they can improve on it maybe I can change to a 5 stars . read more

There are hits and misses...hard to maintain a perfect score...so here's the average rating. Didn't realize I'd never gotten around to write my raving review a few years back. Now I have to factor both experiences. One thing for sure...is the warm hospitality from owner to staff. Food comes out quick...perhaps a bit too quick that quality is compromised this time around. There were bones found in several pieces of sashimi platter and the cuts were not smooth cut. Think this was the result of the chef owner not working behind the knife tonight. Generally, it's okay to have lesser experience staff work with rolls but not sashimi. You can't cheat skill set. Our first time, we tried uni out of the shell. This time we'd ordered uni sushi. Big difference in quality...day and night. Not sure why they added salt to the uni sushi but made it questionable to the freshness. Hope the place can maintain its past quality standards...and tonight was just a fluke. read more

Has anyone made a reservation here recently? I tried to call earlier but the number didn't go through for me.
Hi ,We have an interest in dining at your place tomorrow for dinner. We have two questions: one is there parking and another, do we need a reservation before we get there? Thanks!
I am so sorry for the late response, but we only have street parking nothing we own. Reservations are recommended especially on the weekends!
Do you still offer live uni from the shell?
Unfortunately not at the moment. That is a seasonal item available around March-May. We have boxed uni at the moment from Chile.
