11-20 - My first visit On 11-20, I came in to use my Aetna Medicare vision benefit, which gives me a $400 allowance toward ANY frame from an iCare provider. Aetna confirmed to me directly that all the facility has to do is submit the claim. Instead, the staff insisted I could only choose from their "Grand Lux" collection, which felt like it benefitted their pocket more than helping me use my actual benefit. They kept refusing to submit my claim even though my insurer confirmed that I am fully entitled to use my allowance toward any eligible frame in the store, which is any frame in the store, including the Gucci frames I wanted. I wanted the Gucci frames not frames from the grandlux collection. When I asked them again to just submit the claim so Aetna could approve it, I was told "that's not how it works," even though Aetna said the opposite. I also overheard a comment like "I didn't know young people could be on this insurance," which was humiliating and made me feel judged for being disabled at a young age. I left that day feeling like my benefits were being misrepresented and that I didn't get equal treatment. 11-21 - The next day, things escalated I came back calmly the next morning (11-21) I wanted to speak with the manager and address what happened. Instead of fixing the issue, staff member Maria, the shorter older woman who opened that morning, escalated the situation and called the police. Maria told the officers that I was "threatening" her. When the police asked her what the threat was, she admitted the only thing I said was that I would update my Google review and record for my own safety so my words couldn't be twisted. The police confirmed that none of this is a threat, it is my right. This showed me that, in my opinion, Maria's statement didn't match what actually happened and felt like retaliation. After the officers clarified everything, Maria changed her story and simply said she wanted me to leave. That made it clear to me that removing me had nothing to do with safety and everything to do with avoiding accountability after refusing to submit my valid insurance claim. I did not receive equal opportunity. I remained calm the entire time. I did not threaten anyone. I did not raise my voice. I sat down and said I wanted to speak to the manager. That was it. They may not want to speak to me anymore, but now they have to speak to, mutiple agencies including the BBB, Optometry Board, Aetna and the list goes on. Their phones will be ringing, and they will be asked to explain this situation to each agency. What should have taken just 10 minutes turned into all of this, and all of it could have been avoided with simple professionalism. In my opinion, a lot of this behavior came from pride and refusing to admit fault. And pride will take you places you never planned to be, and keep you stuck there longer than you ever meant to stay. read more

Beware! They may be good in some aspics. But lied and cheated me. I had an examination at my eye doctor. I have Strabismus OD. What that is the eye muscle is weak and the eye starts to go to the side. Causing double vision & bad headaches. My doctor who did a complete exam 2 weeks ago referred my to this place for prism glasses which will fix the double vision & headaches. I am also set to have eye surgery to permanently repair the muscle early next year (it takes forever at Bascom Palmer eye institute & surgeons are extremely busy). I called & spoke with Carla who said she was the owner for 41 years & would "take care of me, don't worry about a thing". I told her I am permanently 100% disabled from a broken back & all I receive is $991.00 a month. I look after an elderly woman doing the shopping, picking up meds, making sure meds are taken, meals eaten, she safe etc. I have no extra money. After rent, foods, cell phone & medication co-pays & doctors co-pays I have NOTHING left. She said she's been in business over 41 years & she going to take care of me don't worry you'll be seeing fine just come in. I have insurance & she said don't worry about that either. Nothing at all was mentioned about paying for an examination. I got there & saw a woman I guess was the doctor for minutes. What I have is plainly obvious my right eye looks in the opposite direction. She said the glasses would be so thick nothing can be done. I went to the counter & Carla asked for my prescription glasses & left. A very obnoxious woman started asking for payment for an examination $89.99. I told her Carla & nothing about any cost & I didn't have an examination. She was embarrassing me & then Carla came back & said I need a pair of glasses she had to stop the headaches & see better. I assumed since she took my glasses my prescription was put on them. She told me the regular cost would be $369.00 but just pay $20.00. I had to use my emergency credit card at 32.99%. I signed a receipt still without my glasses & was also rushed. She said she took care of the exam cost. The obnoxious woman tried to give me disposable glasses for having my eyes diluted during the exam which is mandatory. I had all that done at my doctor 2 weeks earlier. Again I told her nothing was put in my eyes as I didn't need nor have an examination. I was not given a receipt. When I got home I checked my credit card online & saw I was charged $289.99. I called & told the very expensive glasses were included & hung up on. Then I noticed it was closing time. I noticed the new glasses I couldn't read or see anything with. I went by Walmart vision who said the had no prescription on them just regular sunglasses. I have corrected lenses on my license so can use them at all. They were Nike & contacted them. They asked for screenshots. The got back to me in a few hours. These are sunglasses for golfing. Their call "course" & are made to see down a golf course & suggested retail $39.99. Not close to $369.99 she said. They also said they were 5 years old & the coving on the lenses was starting to fade off the lenses. They also said Carla nor any company are authorized Nike dealers. I called as soon as they open & thought maybe she didn't know about the glasses but couldn't really see how or why. The glasses are useless to me. Also I have never played golf in my life. At 70 I had no plans to start. As if rehearsed as soon as I called I was told "no refunds". I asked for Carla & was told she told the woman what to say. I honestly thought with everything she said about taking care of me she would fix this. Not have planned this fraud. I said I was coming in to return these she said $89.99 for exam & $200.00 reduced from $369.00 for the glasses. Again no refunds & I told her again there was no exam & mention of any cost. She hung up on me like others I have read in the reviews. I called back & I never even raised my voice as I am also 70 years old & never act like that. She answered come arrested. No lie useless glasses $289.99 credit card at 32.99%. Dog food and no meds. Lies and fraud. read more

This is the place to go for glasses. The service is like no where else. I only like high end glasses and this place has all of the newest and best frames you can find . The doctor here found out of an issue I had with my eyes that even at Rand institute missed. The customer service with the owner Carla is excellent . She knows what looks good on your face and recommends all the best frames for me. She has taken care of any issues I have ever had right away . What a great experience. I have worn glasses for more than 60 years. I've never had even close to this experience. First Dr. Cordova gave me a complete exam then working with Carla to pick frames and features for my new glasses. My appointment was Tuesday and my glasses were ready on Friday afternoon amazing. Came here on recommendation from a friend. Although, the shop is a little out of the way for us, Carla is a very attentive and detail oriented optician. She spent as much time as I needed to try on as many frames that I wanted. She helped me select a stylish pair for a very reasonable price. The prescription is perfect and the look is Me! Lots of compliments and I see perfectly. Additionally, Raul fitted me for contacts. At my age, 60's, it takes longer to adjust than when I was in my 20's. Raul is working with me to try different options of bifocal versus mono-vision lenses, or opting for distance only with readers. The jury is still out on which I'll choose. No rush. No pressure. I have had glasses for 50 years now and have been to many places in many states. Carla and the staff at Optical Impressions are the best I have experienced. They are friendly and assist with picking out frames and given I have a very strong prescription not every frame looks good with a strong corrective lens. This place is marvellous. My dad has been suffering with glasses that had lenses popping out, nose pad off, missing screw...you get the picture. We saw the great reviews for this place and figured maybe they would help fix the glasses or order a new pair. They took care of him immediately. They used their materials and fixed everything good as new. We offered to pay but they refused! We will definitely come back here for a new pair soon. read more

Dr. Maria is absolutely wonderful. Sweet and funny. She does a thorough eye exam and takes her time. Wait time is minimal. Maybe 10 mins to be seen for my appointment. The staff is also great. Everyone is very nice. It took me 2 visits to find the perfect frames. They were all knowledgeable and patient as I tried on dozens of different glasses till I found the right pair for me! I am giving at 5 star rating for Optical Impressions because I feel this store goes out of their way to provide good value for the money. Carla, the owner, greets each patron like she has known them for years, and most she probable has! She has a great attention to detail, and knows how to connect to the patron. I my most recent visit, I had my daughter's eyes checked by optometrist ( who I think is equally amazing). After her exam, Carla took a look at her old glasses and made some suggestions and made few great selections. Her prices were the best I have seen. I can't say enough great things about this place. I made a same day appointment here one day because I had pain in my eye which turned out to be irritation, but no eye doctors could see me for weeks. This place was able to get me in the same day. When I arrived, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I did wait awhile because they squeezed me in, and I ended up doing a full eye exam while I was here because I was overdue for one anyways and had been having some blurry vision for a few months. The last time that I had an eye exam was when I was a kid and I was terrified of doing it because I remember the slit lamp touching my eyeball and I freaked out because it was so uncomfortable. My eyes are very sensitive and I have a hard time with putting anything in them. Dr. Cordova was so nice and a pleasure to work with. We had a nice chat because I noticed her diploma on the wall. She went to the optometry school at my college. It was time for the slit lamp, and she was extremely reassuring that I wasn't going to feel anything whatsoever. She was right. I didn't feel a thing. At the beginning of the visual acuity test, she said that I had 20/20 vision and didn't need prescription glasses, but kept examining me further to make sure that she didn't miss anything. It turns out that I did need prescription glasses. Raul was also a pleasure. I also loved that they had many different designer frames to choose from, even though I didn't end up buying here because I felt like they were overpriced along with the lenses. I chose my designer frames online and then brought the prescription to my dad's friend who's an optometrist. But I definitely recommend this place for an eye exam. So, for anybody scared to get your eyes checked because you're sensitive, come here! read more

First time here (definitely not last)! I often go to "chain" businesses because I always thought the small boutique type shops would be overpriced. NOT TRUE! This is a locally owned and operated business that cares about its clientele and treated us with the utmost courtesy and care. We were able to browse the huge selection of designer and non-designer frames without being pressured. I found that the designer frames were very reasonably priced and you probably wouldn't do any better elsewhere. The optician took her time with us and made recommendations but never once tried to sell us something we didn't need or want as is the norm at the "chain" optical outlets. There is also an in-house optometrist, Dr. Cordova as well. She spent at least 30 minutes each with both my husband and myself and did not rush our exams. I would definitely recommend Optical Impressions for all of your vision needs. read more

I couldn't give less then 1 but I am extremely upset and felt robbed by them. I have my insurance which covers the $150 of any frame plus 20% extra. The owner or manager of that place was telling everyone that they wouldn't use the money of the insurance or the cover of it because she was going to give us a better price. Completely a lie!! I end up buying a Tiffani's frames and pay more than what I should. Not only that I find out with my insurance that the claim the money with them too!! They still from customers and insurance as well. Then she convince me and other customers to get the progressive lens which she claim she will reimburse the money and give us the regulars if we didn't get adjust it to them... Another lie!! They obviously works with scams and lies and I don't like that kind of companies. Definitely lost a customer. I already report them with the insurance and they open a case. Don't go here at all... They only are looking for the benefits. Unfortunately I got stock with a beautiful pair of glasses that should cost me less and that I can't wear because I didn't get use to the lens. read more
