I've been coming to this optical place for about 2 years. I've always had nothing but good service up until today I don't know who Tony is hiring to work in this place but they're incompetent and lazy. The girl who picked up the phone did not attempt to help me claiming I don't have a file saying that Tony will call me for what? He's not even in so how can he POSSIBLY MAGICALLY help them find my file mind you is already it's 5pm and no call? every time I go in person they always find my stuff and order my stuff. She also claimed that "Tony just orders them for me because he knows me" which is a load of bullshit. So because of HER and them being super unorganized I will no longer be getting contacts here. This place scams and doesn't follow the law. They will refuse to give you your prescription, which is against the law. The ophthalmologists are good but the people who sell the frames are just looking for money and commission. They are breaking the law!! This should be investigated ASAP. read more

I will never go back to this place again. I came here , the guy seemed cool or whatever. Checked my eyes, showed me multiple frames. I finally picked TWO frames I kind of liked. He told me he would be able to mail the frames. So he did that, told me they should get to be in about 3-5 days. Two weeks passed and I never recover my frames. I called, everyday and it was a new excuse. He didn't act like he cared at all, and just wanted me to be patient with him...when in reality I was running out of patience. I never revived a receipt of any sort. So I am now in process of receiving my money back, let's see how that goes. Unbelievable. Never again. read more

You need glasses? Don't have a ton of cash to spend? This place is the answer to your prayers. I should have replaced my glasses two years ago, but I don't have insurance and only need them for driving, so I put it off. Since I use them rarely, I didn't want to spend $400 on a pair. I spent less than half that (way less, actually) on a fashionable pair of glasses, and that price included the eye exam. Tony was great and I didn't feel at all pressured to go with anything fancier than what I needed. They had plenty of availability for the exams and it took less than a week to get my glasses made. Called after reading reviews...I was looking for good quality frames with accurate lenses for both my son and I. Walked in for our appointment...the doctor on duty was thorough and kind...and the staff was not only patient and helpful with us (we selected 4 frames total) - but they were just as humorous. Unfortunately my son and I really like 2 expensive frames and 2 more reasonably priced frames - but all in all a great experience for our yearly eye exam venture. These guys are great. I tend to dread the whole getting new glasses thing, and not really a fan of exams, eye or otherwise (well who is?), but for some reason I actually had a good time. Which is funny to think about. Is that a sign I'm getting old? or maybe I need to get out more? Who says they had a good time at their eye exam? Anyway, Tony and the doctor are both very nice, and also helpful (this is important, by the way). It's a bit of hike, I had to take a bus from Elmhurst, but they're also off of the M, but not right off of the train. Not a super big deal for me since I spend most of my time walking, but it's worth the extra effort. Recommended for sure. read more

After having the same glasses for a while I was ready for a new pair, and after reading some reviews on Yelp I decided to try out Optical Warehouse. The day after I decided to go to the Warehouse and having no insurance I was expecting to pay $500+ for exam, frames, lenses etc. since that was what I usually paid when I did have my insurance. Once i stepped inside the business I was greeted by Tony who was extremely helpful. He had a huge selection of frames and showed me some cheaper options since I had no insurance. Loving designer brands I still gravitated towards the more expensive frames and I settled for these beautiful Burberry frames. Like I said I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg for these glasses and once he told me the full price for the frames and lenses, I couldn't be happier. It was much cheaper than anticipated. I ended up ordering some contacts from Tony as well, which was also cheaper than I normally paid for them. More on Tony: Tony was so helpful, he did not pressure me into getting anything I didn't want, he was just there if I needed him. He is also ridiculously hilarious, which made the whole process really fun. I've been to other vision places where the people that worked there seemed so miserable, and this was not Tony. He likes what he does and it shows, and the best part is he's the same with everyone that comes through the door, everyone gets the same special treatment. My Tom fords broke 2 weeks ago, I'd had them for about 5 years and knew I was long overdue for a replacement but I had a back up pair of the exact same frames because I loved them so much, I just needed new lenses and a new prescription so I looked up places in the neighborhood that would help me out. I know a lot of places give you a hard time about putting lenses in frames you didn't purchase from them and I was worried about that but I didn't have to be.. I came in and the owner was friendly, helpful and most of all not pushy. He said it wouldn't be a problem to put new lenses in for me and got me my eye exam immediately and I was done about 10 min later. Although my insurance isn't accepted here, I only ended up paying $100 for new lenses with anti glare + the eye exam and the owner gave me an itemized bill when I came to pick them up a few days later (I went on a Friday and got them back the following Wednesday)to see if my insurance would refund anything subsequently. I was so pleased with the service that I brought a pair of sunglasses with me to get done when I came to pick up my Tom Ford glasses. I asked for my prescription to be included in the itemized bill but the owner said he wanted me to wear the pair for a few days to make sure that the prescription was correct first (since it was about disorienting when I put them on) and then he'd write it out for me on the sunglasses bill when I came to pick them up. I remember previous glasses stores refusing to give me my prescription which is super illegal and I had to argue with them to show them that. Not here, you could tell the owner really wanted to make sure that the product he gave me was working and it took me less than a day to adjust to my new prescription. I'm suppose to pick up my sunglasses today and I'm super excited! If you want a hassle free, quick experience coupled with a job well done come here. You won't regret it. read more

I went here to get my eyes checked. Made an appointment with Tony over the phone and was glad to be seen within the next few hours. They had a couple of deals if you get glasses, they can waive the eye check-up. Take note that check-ups for contact lenses and glasses have different prices. I cannot post the price here because my insurance covered some of the cost. Dr. Fuchs is very patient, knowledgeable and courteous. He helped me decide which I should get. I ended up getting both the contacts and glasses. On my way out, he made sure that the contacts I was wearing fit my eyes well. They were a little uncomfortable. So he decided to give me a new one. Glasses take at least three days to be ready (I have astigmatism, so it might be a little later than usual). Contacts are usually ready as you leave but since I have astigmatism, they had to reorder. I'm going back to pick-up my glasses and for the follow-up check-up. The experience is overall pleasing. They have been in business for 15 years in this location. So they know what they're talking about. read more

I was recommended by a friend to come and check this optical out, as she had brought out her family here and they said the prices were great so I decided to give it a try. I went in and it went very smooth, it was super quick and Tony gave me test frames with my prescription to look around to make sure I could see perfect. He was very helpful and friendly. This experience felt so much more comfortable than any other optical, Tony didn't push on selling a bunch of unnecessary things for the glasses like anti-glare or stuff like that even though i did get it cause I already had them on my previous glasses. Don't be fooled by their 5 star reviews.. I called on Tuesday to confirm that this optic business was in network with my insurance. I was told by a gentleman that they were participating with my insurance but if I wanted to get a full eye exam, I would need to come on Thursday when the eye doctor is there. Today I drove 1 hour to get there and as soon as I walked in I was greeted and right away when he seen my insurance the same man I had spoken to on the phone explained that they will need to charge me a $30 copay and started talking to me about the prices of the glasses. I had checked the night prior and based on my insurance I do not have a copay for an in network provider so I asked him? Why I was being charged and then he tells me "we are out of network with your insurance" *please note that on my insurance website they are listed as in network* so I guess that's false information and if I would have not asked I would have never been told and who knows the charges that would have been billed to my insurance. Don't waste your time and don't trust when they tell you things over the phone.. So glad I asked! read more

I typically dread getting new glasses more or less because of the same reasons you come across any place, whether it be pushy sales people who are trying to get you to buy the most expensive frames or the long wait times because they don't know how to schedule appointments. However, at Optical Warehouse, I had none of those problems. Tony, who runs the place, was an absolute pleasure to do business with. I thought I had to make an appointment, but since we both had the spare time, he gladly took me in to do a well overdue eye exam in no time. He was also able to help me find a great new pair of Ray Ban glasses and in the end, it all came out to a reasonable price, even without the best insurance around. Tony made everything seem so smooth and easy, saved me a good amount of money compared to some other local places, and I walked out a happy customer. The owner took great care of me and spent almost 45 minutes with me picking out glasses, WHO DOES THAT ANYMORE?!!! Thank you so much for all your help! I used to live down the block from this place a while back. I used to come here for contacts and the owner Tony always had my back and made sure to always have my prescription in stock. His prices were reasonable and he was always super happy and friendly. Went in last week to get some more contacts and a pair of new glasses since my old ones got scratched up. While other places were looking to charge me almost $125 for a contacts fitting, good old Tony was charging $65. Can it get any better than that? For my glasses that cost about $700 last time at another shop, I got them here for around 450. And this included anti glare, transitions, shaving down my crazy high prescription and the frames. And on top of that he threw in 6 pairs of free contacts! What I really loved about my experience though is that he never tried to up sell me. He showed me the more expensive frames and warned me of the prices and when I decided to stay in a certain price range he put them away without a second thought. I feel relaxed and not pressured. In the end I picked a really nice pair of glasses for a good price. Tony even helped picked them out since my husband had no interest in giving an opinion on the 20 pairs I had tried on (I know I know....I might have been a smudge annoying that day!). This place is very good. Went here to buy a new pair of glasses. At first things were a bit rough, I didn't have the right paperwork but once I came back... Things went swell. Got my designer glasses for $200 which is pretty awesome. They felt good and looked good. I recommended this place to my parents and when they tried the place out, they loved it. My mom was able to get nice glasses at a low price. I'm going to see if I can get the lenses of my pops glasses changed here and sadly I lost my glasses I purchased from them a year ago, so I need to get new ones. But overall, this place is the bomb and way better than those corporate optical stores. read more
