Just rem. to water the plant next time Previous: Dr. Arpino is always pleasant and takes time to listen to me and offer helpful suggestions and alternatives. He never talks down to me and I feel we work together well as a team for my care. When I asked about an EKG, he didn't make me return to set up another appt., but immediately called in a PA to take it for me and I didn't have to wait for results. The practice had a great phlebotomist who left, so I was apprehensive about the new one, but she is great too. It's convenient to have bloodwork tests available in the same building, and the facility itself is in a good location and on the 138 Valley Metro route which is helpful. The weakest link in the practice is the way scheduling and general questions are handled. Upon leaving, I was given a printout with the next appt. without any consultation with me about dates and times that work best for me, so I had to change it and that was an unnecessary step and the presumptuousness of setting up a random appt. for me did not make me feel respected. Also, when I called to make my bloodwork appt. and specifically asked about the times, I was not told about the lab being closed for lunch so when I came, I had to wait around and that was not a good use of my time. When I texted that I should have been informed about the lunch hour, the response I received was "We always have our lab tech take lunch from 12 to 1pm." Notice there was no apology for my inconvenience or for not providing the complete information, just telling me what they "always do" as though I'm supposed to know that. The questionnaire that you have to fill out with only yes or no answers also needs some improvements since binary answers rather than also allowing for N/A or Unsure and without a way to add additional information can result in inaccurate records. read more

Not too sure about this place. Trying to establish a new dr and heard from a friend this dr arpino was good. However the front office staff seem to not be very friendly, they are not sure what to charge even though they have your insurance information and I witnessed one be rude to an elderly patient I am still new to this office so we will see. read more

I'm a little surprise by the low reviews but this is based on our experience m. The staff was phenomenal. Very attentive and nice, one of the nicest I have ever had at a doctors office. Dr Pierrend took such good care of my mom and really listen to her concerns. He made sure the transition from her previous doctor in California to here would be seemless. He did his best to make sure my mom was comfortable and really took the time to understand what she needs going forward with her health. I am very happy with them and am happy that we found this doctor. I felt they went above what other doctors have done especially with my mom being a diabetic. Highly recommend this doctor. read more

Optima Medical is horrible compared to Paseo or Bennett clinics. From their snarky front desk to their inept medical assistants. The place reeks minimizing cost and maximizing patients seen each hour. Tell the front desk to lose the nose rings. YIKES!! read more

This is a warning about my husband's and my former "doctor" Girolamo Arpino, DO. "Doctor" Girolamo Arpino for the last three years told my husband that due to blood tests he had sugar diabetes. The first year Girolamo Arpino said my husband was stage 1, next year stage 2 and early year stage 3 sugar diabetes. This "doctor" Girolamo Arpino was informed, by my husband, of all the cancer and deaths by cancer in my husbands family and for three years never sent him for any additional tests to find out if anything but his "guess" was causing blood work issues. This year my husband went into the emergency room in extreme pain and they told him he never had sugar diabetes; it was always pancreatic cancer and that now he was stage four. It was in his blood and his liver. He went through agonizing weeks of chemotherapy, but it was far too late and thanks to this non-doctoring "doctor" Girolamo Arpino he is now dead. I would certainly not recommend Girolamo Arpino to anyone. Girolamo Arpino was no more than a medical secretary; everything my husband told him was put in Arpino's computer and that is where it stayed. Once again, I have since gotten a doctor to replace Girolamo Arpino and will never ever recommend Girolamo Arpino to anyone nor go back to him for anything. read more

Dr Geralamo J Arpino is a horrible doctor!!!!! His referral assistant needs to be fired, she's lazy and rude and does not follow through with his referrals. Dr Arpino doesn't check up on them either. Pamela Thomas is fantastic. I've struggled with finding a good PCP and this is the first time I feel confident in my choice. She's understanding and takes the time to actually sit and talk with you and go over everything you need. Usually I feel rushed to get in and out but she's not like that. Dr Colleen is truly a great doctor who cares about her patients. She has helped me so much. my last doctor just treated me as a number. He would write you whatever you want because he didn't care about your health. Because of this I got MRSA and almost lost my finger. He said it was just a mild skin infection and gave me antibiotics that did not work so I went back and he gave me the same antibiotics because he didn't remember me from a month before. I had been seeing him for 5 years at that point. Do to his lack of care I got to spend a week in the hospital treating MRSA. Anyways, my point is that it feels great to have a doctor that actually cares. See her if you need help with addiction or anything. read more

I had taken my daughter for a referral. After calling the office several times and asking them to send the correct form to correct office I was very frustrated because nothing was getting done. It wasn't until Marycarmen Valenzuela stepped in and helped me get the form signed and sent to the correct office. The office staff at this practice is horrible. I have had to do all of the work to see why Dr. Arpino has not gotten test results. I have spent way too much time actually going into the office and on the phone to see why they haven't done their job. After a month, they still don't have the results all because they never signed and dated the order. I am tired of having to follow up on stuff they should be. They should pay me to do their job. I am sick of the hassle to get a new CPAP machine and the test results. I may just have to change providers. It is ridiculous. read more

Disorganised, front facing customer care is poor. Appointment scheduling is long, confusing, often inaccurate. Long unnecessary wait times. They've forgotten about us in an exam room for over an hour. Referral follow up is awful. It's highly likely you will lack care in this office. read more

They mixed me up with a different patient twice. I need a prior authorization on my medication. It's been a month, the pharmacy said they haven't received one yet and my insurance said the last time they asked for one was in April, it's almost july. Im frustrated with them. The last time it took them 3 weeks to sign a return to work paper. I missed work for three weeks because they didn't have the balls to tell me they lost the paper that needed to be signed. Im transferring to a different doctor. Just too many mistakes. I don't want to put my life in their hands anymore. read more

If I could leave no stars I would , this place has the worse hospitality for patients I've ever seen. They don't get anything correct or know what's going on with patients files. I've been coming here since February of 2022 and it seems that my medical issues are of no concern to any of the workers here. It would be better to go to an urgent care because atleast they will remove to call you back. I've waited between atleast 2 months for a 'call back ' that never occurs. This is a hot mess of unorganization, non responsive, rude operation. You will NOT be seen by a physician, only FNPs. They go through FNPs like crazy. I went there for a couple of years and was on my third FNP. Each time I saw a new FNP it was like starting over; history, questions, new blood tests... The last time I had an appt. I went to their lab a week early for a blood test so that the results would be ready for my appt. 7 days later. The rude receptionist, Marlene, said that I couldn't take the blood test without meeting with the new FNP first. Don't bother calling them for anything, you won't get a call back. Our PCP at Optima Medical is absolutely amazing. They're the best doctor we could have ever found. They completely transformed my friend's medical situation into a healing. We are so grateful to have found them. In the last six months, we have not been able to see them, the situation was essential for other teams/medical professionals/hospitals that we have a visit with them. Two other hospitals are extremely perplexed at the situation, so they even called Optima, but were unable to talk to a peer. We're kind of unsure about things because we're not in the medical industry. But when other doctors, nurses, schedulers, administrators from other hospitals (and even professionals at the desk at Optima) are trying to help and running up against a wall and calling us to say we don't understand Optima's behavior--that's when we're wondering what's going on. Did we do something horrible on our end? All we're trying to do is what's asked of us by other providers and, ultimately, get healed. read more

This office is a mess.. I scheduled a visit online with a note about my reason for the visit and they refused to see me because my OBGYN is a NP as well. I was given the wrong address and called them to let them know and they immediately wanted me to reschedule. I got there five minutes late and the office staff was rude. Filled out the paperwork, did their intake on their tablet, got my vitals taken, paid the copay, and was waiting for the NP when I was told she wouldn't see me because I have a PCP who is my OBGYN. MA was nice and tried to help but the office refused to see me even though I had gone through the entire process. They basically said that I would either have to switch and list them as my PCP or that I would receive a large bill from my insurance. I don't understand why this couldn't have been expressed prior to taking the time out of my day to go here when I could have made an appointment elsewhere. I now have to wait 3 business days for my copay to be refunded. I asked for a receipt of the refund and only received a receipt of my payment. I would advise you go elsewhere as it seems others have had similar experiences. Huge waste of time. read more

The billing at this place is fraudulent. I've never seen such incompetence and arrogance. When they incorrectly coded a visit I was on the hook for the bill despite my insurance company instructing them to simply resubmit with the proper code. They flat out refused. They also lied about calling my insurance company to rectify it. This is all documented with Blue Cross. Worst of all, the wildly incompetent billing department, headed by an extremely rude person named Ruby, forced her way into the private room where I waited for the doctor and waived the bill in my face. I was then told the doctor refused to see me since I refused to be weighed, blood pressure taken. Why? I was there 3 weeks earlier and had all of that done. They were trying to soak me for more. This place is horrible don't go here. I have been loyal and faithful to them. I have had three amazing doctors that were awesome, and all three of them left within one year. And the Nurse thay have now by the name of Susan Osborn is rude and unprofessional. I have never in my life been so upset with a medical provider as I am with her. After two failed attempts to have them return my calls in order to get my blood results I stopped in one day to request a photo copy of my results. They asked if I had a few minutes and they could go over them with me in person and of course there would be no charge. So I said yes and then later I received a bill! I have been fighting with them for over three months and they refuse to reverse it. Now they are losing both myself and my husband as patients! I never requested to be seen by a doctor and I do not feel that I should owe this. If they had told me that having somebody give me the results verbally would result in an office visit I would have said no just give me the photocopy like I came in for. In addition their back office people never return your calls or respond to your messages. read more

Avoid at all cost!!! I went here because it was close to my house.... bad idea, I'd rather drive an hour than subject myself to such RUDE, disconnected humans EVER again! Not only can they not get their shit together to keep appointments straight but they wrote a referral completely wrong and wasted my entire day! The old lady receptionist Marlene is rude, argumentative, and should not have a job! She left me a message confirming my appointment ( I took off work for) then I get there and she argues with me that she left a voicemail canceling the appointment. Doesn't apologize, as she sends me away. The Nurse Practitioner is completely disconnected and just talks over you and cares less about you. Every time I went there I left upset. I have never had so many repeated bad experiences at a Dr office in my life. The ONLY person that place should keep employed is the sweet, bubbly nurse with a heart of gold. If I could I wouldn't give them 1 star. My pharmacy sent them 2 requests for a prescription renewal. You would think in 2 weeks I could get my blood pressure meds! Nope! I was very disappointed with Peoria Medical Center when my doctor left and I called and tried to get her information about how I can contact her. They were extremely rude on the phone and gave me absolutely no information. I understand that completely but why be rude about it? They could have just said I'm sorry I can not give you this information and I would have gone on line to get it myself which I did but no they had to be ugly about it. Needless so say I will never step foot in their office again and happily see my old doc at her new location. read more
