Well, that was enough for me to trade in my vinyl for the aforementioned piece in CD format so I could listen in my car (remember it was twenty years ago). I played "The Four Seasons" as I drove to and from work, wrote reports, did my taxes (similar studies show improved math skills in children), or simply relaxed and like those in the non-control group Ohio study, I felt better even recruited long forgotten vocabulary! Mere weeks ago that very same CD bit the dust; skipped over way too many movements. I washed it, talked to it but it was gone... Yeah, I know there's a myriad of more technologically advanced listening platforms but I'm old school. Enter Record Surplus (The Westside's Amoeba equivalent?) for replacement and much, much more. This place is HUGE! If you can't find disks, vinyl here perhaps it doesn't exist. Ah, but it does! Knowledgeable staff will help you find what you seek. This is another follow-up review on both the Legacy Focus SE speakers that I have had for about a…read morehear now, but also how outstanding James has been on being helpful on a few technical questions that have come along since my purchase in Oct, 2019. First, the speakers. They are awesome; like no other, with an amazing soundstage. I just marvel at the stage where the music I enjoy is coming from the center filling the "stage" on each side (Yello anyone?). I have had new listeners compliment me on how great my center channel is (Legacy Marquis XD), and after they have listened for awhile and complimented me again on the great center side, I love telling them that it is not playing- that is the amazing sound stage of the Focus SEs. You have to listen to the Focus towers (mine are the SEs) to get it. If you decide you love them, then make sure James sets them up for the maximum sound stage benefit. And also be sure and get the optional additional feet as they made a big difference- and the cost was so small I forgot how much. Plus, I almost forgot the CODA electronics which are amazing and well worth it- and substantially less than many "names" you see in the high end stereo mags. Then I want to say just how helpful James is with follow-up questions after the initial installation, which he did. I have reached out to him three times, twice due to Cox Cable gear that was performing poorly and he gave me an approach to improve it. Then when I had to move my gear for repositioning, I forgot to measure the locations, separation, and angle. He knew immediately and guided me through it as I wanted to restore what he did. Want to dazzle your friends? After you get a pair of Legacy tower speakers, model will not matter and only get better up the price curve, don't tell them that your center is off. Great fun to see the expression on their faces. Then sit back and just love live music.

Not just because it is archaic but more importantly, every little thing I need fix (tune) required me to call my dealer who charges an arm and a leg. One day, all my speakers died, so I called my dealer, and they wanted my first born. So I decided to venture out and I found Definition AV. 1st, their service call price is very reasonable. They diagnosed the problem (the Amp died) surgically, but what's great about them is that they asked a lot of questions to truly understand my use cases. They recommended me to switch half of my system to SONOs and leave my living room TV's 5.1 audio system alone since it was still working. My previous dealer would had never recommended that because SONOs is more DIY and they would not be able to charge as much service money. Before they left, they even tuned up my 5.1 system just because they found some misconfigurations on they way. It sounded WAY better. I got the quote, the price is very reasonable and they came out quickly and upgraded my system. Now, my system works way better and I can use my voice control (my main method of controlling everything else in the house) to activate any speakers or speaker groups. I'll be a returning customer!

I've refrained from leaving a negative comment but I talked to him on Tues he said, "let me see if I have a needle in my box, how about tomorrow". Told him no one would be available tomorrow but Thurs or Fri, he said ok. Heard nothing and here we are. Its Saturday. Called him, no answer, left a message. So I have a console that plays records that will periodically drop audio. But if you ever so lightly tap the back of the tone arm audio might return. So that's what I got for $675.
