Andrew came out in April and fixed a broken thermocoupler on a gas stove, and was very helpful and hardworking. Unfortunately, the next day the oven still would not light. I called and left a voicemail, emailed, and texted, and got no reply. I've been trying to get in touch for months, and now finally in July they answered and told us they don't guarantee work at all, and it would be another $89 service fee, after paying over $300 initially for an oven repair that didn't work. It's very disappointing that they took so long to get ahold of, and won't back their work at all. It's been months without a working oven. I requested Optimus to perform installation of a new dishwasher in December 2024. After confirming the details beforehand, they realized they did not have the equipment to do the work after arriving. Unfortunately, in the course of attempting to loosen a stuck valve, the technician broke the piece and started a rapid leak that required immediate attention. Because it was a weekend, I had to call a plumber on emergency rates to come replace the old valve. Optimus was not equipped to fix the issue they caused - they used a bowl from my countertop without asking. After 2 months of attempting to communicate over Yelp messages and having to hire an attorney to send a formal demand letter, they reimbursed the emergency service surcharge. read more

This company was assigned to us through First American Home Warranty. Typically, the companies FAHW assigns are pretty bad and have terrible reviews. I was pleasantly surprised but skeptical when I saw the high rating on Yelp for Optimus. My initial feelings were correct. The tech came to work on our washer. We have a built-in, stacked washer and dryer. The minute the tech saw it, he said he couldn't work on it because it was stacked. NOTE: There is nothing in our contract that states this. There was never any mention of this when we requested the service. Optimus and FAHW should have told us we would need to hire another contractor to move the dryer. Indeed, this is something that appliance repair companies must run into. How could they not have the capability to access a stacked washer and dryer? read more

Was told condenser motor and capacitor on Viking fridge needed to be changed. Paid 1400$. Few days later the fridge and freezer stopped working again. Came back out and said the compressor just needed to be cleaned off. Tenants complained again a few days after the second service visit. Now without even seeing the fridge again claims need to pay another 1000$ to have refrigerant drained and replaced because it's still not working. Have a home warranty and they sent someone from Optimus since our microwave door had not been opening for several weeks. For some reason, the day the repair person came, it worked. We asked him to evaluate if there was a loose part which had caused the problem since it would then happen again. He refused even after we asked him a few times to please check. He was rude and unprofessional. Would not use their services. When the warranty co called them based on my complaint about lack of service and rudeness, Optimus told them it was working without any further info. Within an hour Andrew one of their technicians was at my house and working on my microwave. Andrew removed the top control panel and once he got behind it he found a plug that was not connected. Frigidaire technical support recommended Optimus and gave me their phone number. I requested service on a non-cooling freezer. They were able to come the same day and Andrew phoned ahead and arrived as scheduled . when he arrived he quickly diagnosed the problem has the compressor by listening. He then took out enough content to access the back of the freezer and verified his analysis. They could not get a new compressor until Sunday. My full freezer of food would have spoiled within a day and even buying a new freezer would take until Saturday, Andrew asked if I would like him to try the hammer fix. I said certainly and got him a rubber mallet and with the compressor off He hit the compressor twice. Told me to start the freezer and it was cooling. I asked how long it might work and Andrew said no idea maybe a year maybe a month maybe a week no idea , my service call was $65 and Andrew said it would've been $80 more had I clicked Google rather than dial directly because Google charges them extra. my freezer is cooling now a new freezer should come Saturday. Andrew Ivkin came and figured out that our dishwasher needed an inlet valve. He came back two weeks later because of our time issue to install the new part. I was impressed by how he did the work. Other repair men needed to take the door off in order to fix it. Andrew figured out a time saving way to simply remove the lower kick panel and nothing else. He was super fast. But, when tested, it didn't work. Andrew could have threw up his hands and walked away but instead he took a deeper look and found the other BIG problem. RATs! Yuck! They had gotten in there and chewed a few wires in between his first visit and second visit. Andrew helped us out in two ways. ONE, he repaired the chewed wires to regain a working dishwasher. TWO, he alerted us to the rat problem. Now both problems have been addressed. Andrew was super smart, very nice, and a really good repair man. I highly recommend Optimus and especially Andrew!!! I was overall very disappointed by my experience with this company. I sent in pictures and explained my service need, and they were very prompt and communicative to come help me. However, when they were here, they were not able to fix the problem, charged me a fee they hadn't confirmed beforehand, and would only give me advice on what I'd need after I had paid them. I am disappointed by the experience with Optimus appliance repairs. My buildin microwave had a burning noise with smoke. I had Optimus technician coming in for a diagnosis which they charge $50. One technician came in, turned the microwave on. The noise and smoke showed up in 10 second. He decided that was the magnetron malfunction and I need to change the magnetron. All of this above took less than a few minutes. He was ready to leave. Since the estimate he gave is very high (above $500), I looked at other technician options. I had one coming in and changed the magnetron which I paid for. The microwave problem remained. I called Optimus back. Their explanation was that the technician I had to replace magnetron did not do the correct job, which was not true. I had to call another technician coming in. Ultimately fixed the issue. And the root cause was not magnetron! It was a pretty common issue which Optimus technician misdiagnosed and caused me a lot of money. Not competent. Not recommended. read more
