I don't write reviews lightly, but Oceanside Appliance earned this one. Our refrigerator had been down for five days. After waiting those five days, I learned that the first company I contacted still could not provide an appointment for another two weeks. That may work for some situations, but not for a refrigerator that was already down. I also contacted a couple of other repair companies and found myself spending far too much time dealing with automated systems without ever reaching a real person. By comparison, Oceanside Appliance was refreshingly easy to contact. Whether through their website, email, or phone, I was able to quickly get information to someone who listened and responded. At 4:30 PM, I contacted Oceanside Appliance and provided the model number, serial number, and a detailed description of what the refrigerator was doing and not doing. Hector took the time to review the information and make sure Wade had everything he needed before the appointment. Based on the symptoms, they were already thinking ahead about possible causes and the parts that might be needed. The next day at 3 PM, Wade texted that he was on the way and arrived exactly as promised. From the moment he arrived, it was obvious I was dealing with someone who knew what he was doing. He listened, confirmed the symptoms, quickly diagnosed the issue, and, most importantly, came prepared. Because he had reviewed the information beforehand, he had already brought the parts he believed would most likely be needed. Fortunately, he had the correct parts in his truck. There was no need to order parts, no return visit, and no additional delays. In less than an hour, the repair was completed and the refrigerator was back in service. What impressed me most about Wade was his professionalism, efficiency, and respect for the customer's time. He wasn't interested in wasting time or creating another appointment. He came prepared, solved the problem, and got the refrigerator running properly again. The price was fair, and I was more than happy to pay it considering the level of service, preparation, and quick resolution. Before leaving, Wade gave me his card and told me to call if there were any issues the next morning and they would come right back out. Fortunately, there was no need. The next morning the refrigerator was holding a steady 34°F instead of the 49°F it had been struggling to maintain during the previous five days. What really impressed me was what happened afterward. As I was preparing this review, I received a follow-up message from Mike checking to make sure everything was still working properly and asking if there were any issues or anything else they could help with. That kind of follow-up service is becoming increasingly rare and speaks volumes about how they treat their customers after the job is done. Thank you to Hector for making sure Wade had the information he needed before the appointment, a special thank you to Wade for the kind of service customers hope for but rarely receive anymore, and to Mike for following up afterward to ensure everything was still operating as it should. In a world where good customer service seems harder and harder to find, Oceanside Appliance reminded me what it looks like when a company communicates well, prepares properly, shows up when promised, follows through, and gets the job done right the first time. 1 star. Bait-and-switch pricing, and an owner who hangs up on you. I requested a quote. Mark quoted a flat $80 inspection fee, then followed up with a separate message advertising $30 off. Nowhere did that message say the discount was conditional. So I booked expecting $50. The tech showed up -- genuinely professional, no complaints about him at all -- and then told me the $30 off only applies if I go ahead with the repair. That is not what I was told. I paid the full $80 because I wasn't going to argue with the guy doing the work. I messaged them on Yelp to say the wording is misleading and should be fixed. What I got back was a phone call from the owner telling me *I* failed to read and understand his messages. When I pushed back, he hung up on me. And here's the part that stings: I'd seen another reviewer complain about the exact same thing before I booked. I dismissed it. That was my mistake. It's a pattern, not a one-off. If your promo needs a phone call and a lecture to explain, the promo is the problem -- not the customer. Take your money somewhere the price is the price. read more

Every couple of years our refrigerator needs a little freon added to the compressor. I reached out to Oceanside Appliance Service and he quoted me an $80 flat rate for the job. When the technician arrived, I explained what we needed and he immediately said it was $150. I informed him that Mark said it was $80 flat for the service. After an uncomfortable few minutes, he agreed to do it. The compressor requires 1-3psi of freon. The technicians initial measurement was at 0psi. When he said it was done it was at 0.2psi. Barely adding any freon to the system. As a result the fridge is still not as cold as it needs to be. The next morning after the service, I informed Mark of the situation and he would look into it and get back to me. Mark ended up refunding the service call, which was appreciated. read more

After coming back from a trip, noticed that the refrigerator was leaking. As it was a Friday, nearly no one could come until the following Monday. Incredibly grateful to find this amazing repair service! They were able to get to me incredibly quickly, the next day, and the service was not only professional, well priced, and friendly, it's surpassed my expectations! Vitali, the service guy came to repair my dishwasher and to hook up my dryer vent today. The dishwasher needed a recirculating pump so it had to come out and be bent over and removed and reinstalled. He did an excellent job and was very meticulous about the work he did. The dryer vent has been a problem because it does not come out from the wall evenly so he had to make sure it was on their securely and hooked it up to the dryer so all is well there too. Excellent job! Paid $513 for both of those jobs including parts. read more

Our LG fridge and freezer stopped cooling mid Summer just as we were heading out of town - not ideal. LG couldn't get someone out for over a week, their recommended vendor for even longer. I asked for a few bids on Yelp, Mike and Wade from Oceanside appliance got in touch right away and moved mountains to get to us before end of day to diagnose the issue. They were back out the next day with the part which was covered by our warranty and had us back up and running shortly thereafter. I had several companies contact me about my ice maker that I wanted serviced. Oceanside appliance service had serval good reviews on Yelp and they had this deal $30 off first time customers for labor. The appointment was made and Elon came out. He told me my ice maker needed to be replaced and that if I wanted to contract with them then the diagnostic fee would be waived. I was told the part would be arriving midweek and either on Thursday or Friday they'd be back to replace it. I had to call on Friday and we scheduled an appointment for Tuesday on week from the date. I was able to get a quote within 10 minutes from Oceanside Appliance Service Center and then promptly booked an appointment for the same day. They had a project run long so it moved to the following morning. The tech arrived, identified the part needed, left to secure that and was back to fix it quickly and effectively. I woke up to my fridge making a sound and I needed someone to come and check it out. I tried to resolve the issue myself, but it was taking me too long. So, I called this place. At first they said they could send someone the next day, but I needed someone that same day. Luckily, Sal squeezed me. Nikolas was the tech that came, and he got it all fixed in a few minutes. I had contacted Oceanside Appliance Service Center on the basis of their good reviews. Two appliances were not functioning. After dealing with them for several weeks, I decided to end my relationship with them. I had determined that this may be a scam operation. There were delayed and canceled appointments, multiple service people with different stories about the parts, a disconnected call, and a tech that didn't seem to really analyze the situation. The invoice was more than confusing & I had to wrangle with what they sent just to print it out. I paid quite a bit as a deposit and nothing had been done. The tech and the accounting person had the same name! After each delay, a smooth customer service person promised that the parts would be in and they would install them. It was a good experience from the beginning of getting the service date appointment and through the repair process. Mr.Wade White diagnosed the issue and explained the repair process. He also was kind enough to explain why we need to hold off putting items into the refrigerator. We had a different plan than the way he explained. Paying the repair bill was an easy process so it went very smoothly. I was a little worried since my refrigerator broke. Found these guys on yelp. Called scheduled 3pm-6pm appointment 6pm came by and no call or update. I get it some days are tougher than others. I called to see what happened. Kevin answered reassuring me he will find answers what happened. Tech wade called be there in 15 min. 6:15pm arrived. Wade should up knew the problem right away. $422 fan motor on my GE refrigerator went out. He had the part in his truck. In and out service. Super impressive. 7:45 fridge was done. OC Appliance was able to do same day appointment for me on a Whirlpool refrigerator. They did have to order a part but went out of their way to come and install as soon as the part came in. The responded quickly and arrived quickly. Repairman was friendly. They did refund me. Overall experience: Right after I paid and the job was "complete" my dishwasher started leaking everywhere (was not leaking before). Then they worked on fixing that which was attributed to an "installation error". After that was fixed they informed me that the problem they were initially called for was no longer resolved. I was told it would take too long to fix and they had to go. But recommended calling another company to fix. I also had to provide buckets and towels to enable their work. At the end of the day I still have a broken dishwasher and a wet floor. read more

My dryer was making rumbling noises and they showed up that day and provided an over the phone rough estimate. Then once inspecting it, they gave me an accurate quote, and finished the job. My refrigerator alarm is continuously ringing.. The door is closed yet the alarm is continuing to go off . This company sent a man who could barely speak English and couldn't answer my questions, just shooed me off to give him 20 minutes. I told him I wanted the part he replaced and he agreed yet did not leave it. He was rude and in a hurry. About one and 1/2 hours later the fridge continue to alarm. I called back and they didn't not get back with me until 1130 pm via text that they would come back SATURDAY AFTERNOON..... service was on Thursday ..this bell is continuously alarming. Not good business practice. After this experience with OASC the manager contacted me and offered me a full refund and to either come back and fix my fridge or find another company who could come and he offered to pay for the service charge. Called these guys up. Found them here on Yelp. They answered fast and came out within a few hours. My brand new LG oven range wasn't maintaining heat in the oven. This was going on for months... Very frustrating. Home Depot and LG were useless for warranty. Anyways, Sal came out and diagnosed the problem within minutes. He then told me price, we negotiated a little bit. Our refrigerator and freezer suddenly stopped regulating temperature, so I called hoping an appointment at least within a week. Most of the time when an appliance needs servicing you can't count on an appointment for at least a week. To my pleasant surprise I was offered a same day appointment! The cost for the service appointment is $80, which is applied to any repairs that you end up doing. Our technician, Wade, sent a text message prior to his arrival. He arrived on time and was very polite and respectful. He took apart the freezer and was able to figure out the problem quickly. He clearly communicated what would be required to fix it and the cost. Wade was so kind and patient while explaining what he was doing and he answered all my questions. The repair cost was very reasonable and I was given a 15% off coupon for a future service. When my Miehle ventless dryer gave ma an error message on a Thursday afternoon, I called this company. They responded right away and said they could come on Saturday morning. It turned out that they had an emergency and we had to postpone until Monday. Vito showed up Monday a little outside of the time window, but he spent about an hour here running diagnostics and researching the problem. It seems like this particular dryer is very sensitive, and the lint filters have to be absolutely pristine with not even micro lint from what Vito said. The dryer is only two years old and has given me the same error several times since I bought it. So I have issues with Miehle products, but Oceanside Appliance Service is great. Prompt service, clear communication, an authorized Miehle repair company, and much cheaper than another Miehle authorized repair company that I called. I was very satisfied and will use them as my repair company in the future as they service other brands and other appliances as well. read more

The water dispenser on my 7 year old Kitchen Aid Built in fridge was leaking water and unusable. I got a reasonable quote and decided to have it repaired. Elon spent several hours disassembling the freezer door, replacing parts, running a new water line and putting it all back together.
