While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. The facility is nicely sited within a neighborhood and seems the right size to our family - not too large and not too small. His apartment is spacious, comfortable and the right size for him. My father was initially against moving out of his home where he has lived well over have his life but is now so happy, busy, and engaged every day. He had to move into the nursing care for a few months for a severe wound to heal and has now successfully moved back into his independent living apartment.

The only solution offered was to downgrade her room or pay $1,000 more per month for a room originally quoted at the same price, a clear bait-and-switch. We moved her to another facility where she now sleeps peacefully. Artis cannot be trusted.

We moved my dad in 5 months ago and recently got him out. He got there a happy person and left…read moremiserable, disheveled, aggressive, handicapped and in diapers. I would never send a loved one to this program again. His disease progressed significantly. There was never enough staff, they lost medications, the room was often filthy, the food terrible. When visiting I would witness the saddest things - from people crawling down the halls or begging for help, to actual violence between residents. I'm so glad to have my dad out of this place. He is now much better now that he is out of Artis. If you visit, take note of how many families feel the need to hire private care in addition to memory care. Terrible!

The staff and other residents of Mather Place gifted my grandmother a truly happy and comfortable last few years of her life. My entire family agrees that she lived some of the best years of her life here, if not the best. She also made some of the most cherished friendships of her life here. She was never shy in expressing that. My grandmother was never lonely, confused, or felt taken for granted for while living here. Respect for the elderly is unfortunately hard to come by in retirement homes I'm beginning to learn, which makes me even happier that Mather exists. I'm grateful for Mather Place because I know she passed away with a full heart despite any physical discomfort she experienced. Shola explained clearly what they could and could not do for my sister, what their schedule could be, what the rates were. Before plans were finalized, I also got a call from Jonathan Wishnick, the owner -- this truly is a business where the owners know what is going on and care about their clients. When Senior Helpers went to meet my sister, they called back with some concerns about her situation of which I had been unaware -- thanks to them, we were able to resolve those problems and now my sister is thriving. For two months we have had a lovely lady named Sara going to my sister for three hours each day. Now that my sister is in better health she will have a visit only once a week. My sister loves Sara's visits. I'm not sure if I can say enough about how grateful I am to Senior Helpers. I was terrified when I learned that my sister had been hospitalized, that she was sent home unable to care for herself -- and I was thousands of miles away unable to help. I almost cannot believe that there could be a "business" that can step in and fill the place of family, taking care of my sister with such dedication and kindness. I am eternally grateful!
