Heads up for individuals considering Dr. Kim:…read more Dr. Kim is a great doctor. I feel he has the passion and the compassion to help his patients in every way possible. He explains conditions and lab results in ways it's easy for the patient to understand. And when you need a form filled out, he and his staff are there to help out. The only downside is, they charge fees now. Most of the nurses and staff are kind. They make sure you are on time for your appointments and they make the effort to make you feel you are valued. However, I feel quality patient care needs to improved whether in person or via tele-visits. As a patient, you feel less validated and feel you are just annoyance when a particular nurse talks over the patient, makes invalid suggestions for referrals, ignores a patient who walked-in (w/o appointment) for over an hour, and emphasizes the patient was late for the appointment when they give you an appointment card that says Time A, and their appointment text says Time B, and the appointment time the staff claims the patient made is Time C. These are just few of the things to look out for, from personal experience. Best wishes to fellow patients visiting Dr. Kim.

I recommend DO NOT VISIT this doctor's office. I am formally…read moreexposing and condemning this office's unacceptable actions. *Hospital Visit Due to High Blood Pressure: - I had been experiencing a heavy head in the mornings, so I checked my blood pressure, which was 155/87 despite taking medication. - I called the clinic office and booked the earliest available appointment at 10:15 AM. - Before my visit, I ate half a sweet potato and drank a cup of coffee. * Hospital Visit & Consultation: - Upon arrival, my blood pressure and weight were measured (doctor noted a 5-pound weight gain). - I asked to doctor, I had half a sweet potato and half a cup of coffee about an hour ago. Since I'm already at the hospital today, can I still get a blood test? After checking my chart, the doctor confirmed that it was fine to proceed. * Blood Test Denial & Conflict: - When I went to the blood test room, the receptionist suddenly refused to proceed with the test. - If I request a blood test while I am at the hospital, is it not allowed? Even the doctor said OK? -Hanna ((the receptionist)said, the Reasons given: "Walk-in patients cannot get a blood test." "Eating sweet potato and drinking coffee may affect the accuracy of the results." - When I argued that the doctor had checked my chart and approved the test, the staff took me to a separate room and spoke in an authoritative and condescending manner. - The receptionist told me to go to Urgent Care if I wanted a sudden blood test. - They even said I don't have to come to their hospital anymore. - I was extremely uncomfortable with the staff's rude attitude and demanded an apology. *Apology Call & Further Dispute: - About an hour later, another hospital staff member called to apologize on behalf of the receptionist. I insisted that the receptionist(Hanna) should apologize directly. - Later, Hanna called but: - Instead of a sincere apology, she repeated the reasons why they refused the test. - She added that their hospital has a limited number of blood test kits per day and that walk-in patients cannot get a test. - She also gave new reasons: "Since you are pre-diabetic, eating sweet potato and drinking coffee may affect the accuracy of the test." "Since your blood pressure is high, drawing blood suddenly is not advisable." However, the doctor never mentioned anything about pre-diabetes or these concerns during my visit. When I asked, "Then was the doctor wrong?" she was unable to answer. Frustrated with the situation, I expressed my dissatisfaction again and ended the call. What do you think?
