I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I've used Dr. Roberts-Peete as my PCP for about 5 years and haven't had any issues. I will say, my main purpose is for annual checkups and I'm generally pretty healthy and don't require much. Recently, I've had issues calling them. The office fax # is listed on at least two websites. I had to go in person to make my most recent appointment and the receptionist gave me multiple numbers to call. Ridiculous how difficult it is trying to make an appointment since you can't directly call the office any longer. The operators don't even know the doctor's names at the facility. I felt like I was talking to a sixth grader on my call, having to repeat myself multiple times as the operator was obviously distracted doing something else. read more

They could be more caring. I called my Md office and wanted Dr Alecsandra Roberts to prescribe a basic antibiotic ointment for my stye but she told me I had to make an appt, which there weren't any for a week. I have been very happy with Dr. Genova, and with the staff on-site, but the service by Optum's team has been horrendous. Last Thursday I had an urgent question about follow-up care after leaving the hospital and called for Dr. Genova, and the person who took the call said they would contect him and someone and they would call me back. Nobody did. I called again on Friday and left another message, making sure they knew it was urgent. Nobody called back. This was a holiday weekend so nobody was in over the weekend, but when I called again on Saturday I got a registered nurse who was able to give me some guidance, but said I really should talk to my doctor. I called again on Tuesday when they were open again, and left another message. I called again today and someone finally told me that my doctor had been out of the office for two weeks, and nobody knew when he would be back. Wnen I asked why nobody had informed patients, I was told that they were very shorthanded. They seemed to think this was an acceptable answer, but I don't. Regardless of how much I have apptreciated Dr. Genova's care, I'm looking for a new provider. read more

She lied about phoning to change an appointment, claiming that the voicemail was full; yet, when the ladies in the front attempted WHILE there, it got through, proving her a LIAR! Dr Roberts is the first physician I've had in the South Bay who I feel actually cared for me as a patient and as a person. She is an amazing listener both pre covid and during. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes before being taken to her exam room. I've seen her for my physicals and she goes over everything with me. I've seen her for travel vaccines referrals and for malaria pills. She recommend the non daily ones and I was the only person on my trip who didn't suffer from nightmares, a side effect of the daily ones that no one else had been told would happen by their physicians. She's always very good to work with me on different options for medications to see what would be the best financially and what would have side effects. I had one billing issue where a standard test had been coded wrong. But when I called. They were able to straighten it out right away. Overall it's very apparent she takes great pride in her work and wants to make sure her patients get cared for. Dr. Roberts is the worst physician ever! She does not care about her patients, she wants them in and out. Some people do not deserve to be doctors man. I went in to my yearly physical just now and she completely shut down my concerns saying everything was fine. The front office is terrible also, I had an appointment scheduled at 4:20pm, I've been waiting for this appointment forever and they tell me they don't do labs after 4pm? Optum is a scam. I fought their billing department for almost a year until I gave up!! They will bill you for incorrect visits so definitely plan to report the doctor you see to the medical board. The Optum doctors do not care about you. I came for a physical and my doctor (Dr. Roberts) claimed she did not perform a physical. So disappointing and frustrating for this doctor who seemed nice and professional to go around and bill me for services that weren't done. Awful experience. Horrible! I can never get an appointment with my primary, if they do find an appointment it's usually 3 weeks later. Just recently had to make an appointment with another doctor, called to verify the time of my appointment and the front desk told me that they had cancelled it 2 days prior! I received no call or message. Rescheduled for the next week just to be told a day before my appointment that she was leaving home early the next day so had to cancel my appointment again! Took 2 days off of work just to not be seen and for them to say if I really need medical attention to go visit a local urgent care. My family and I have visited this location from back when they use to be Health Care Partners. Over 10 years. We had a doctor that was great! He was willing to look at giving the patient some control of there care by offering suggestions. This was so effective. I think in all I found one other nurse practitioners that was good at this but they bounced them all over. We then got bounced around from doctor to doctor and I even reach out to their customer service program to try and find a good fit for me any my family. We would find one, then they would leave or move them to far for us. We'd get another doctor that wanted to re-building the wheel by trying many of the old things that did not work and in the end we would go back to what we were on before we meet them. This was very frustrating. I show up today for a follow up and I get told I'm 40 minutes early. I then show them a paper that they gave me for my visit and it says the time I arrived. They then go and talk to someone in the back. The person at the front desk comes out apologizing that this doctor is leaving and he had to have a meeting before he left tomorrow. They tried to say they have reached out to his patients. Clearly I missed that message. They only get the one star from me as they did have a great doctor that got what it was like to care about the family. They do have access to equipment that other doctors don't have in the building. read more

Adding to my previous review, still would give zero if I could, Dr. Roberts is an absolute disaster, to make it clear I did not choose her as my dr. I was assigned to her after my previous dr. who was an equal mess left. I saw her once in 2020 for a full physical, for some reason she sent me to get blood at a lab offsite when they have one in house... the lab tried to bill me and I sent them right back to dr. Roberts... mistake #1. Then I get a voice mail from dr. Roberts asking for an urgent call back regarding the results of the testing, saying she needs to discuss something serious with me, I call her back within 5 minutes and she says "I didn't call you" when I insisted that I had a voice mail she simple said "well... I don't recall that so I guess everything is fine"... then I get a referral to an OBGYN with an appointment already made by dr. Robert's team, I show up at the appointment thinking there's an issue, and the OBGYN comes in and looks at me like I'm an idiot, I can tell there's something she wants to say but keeps going around in circles, until she finally says "you've already had an exam this year and there's nothing else for us to do" I said then why am I here? she says "I don't know", I explained that dr Roberts had sent me there and the obgyn says ok, well there's nothing for me to do, you're fine, she dismisses me and on my way out I over heard her speaking to her assistant about Dr. Roberts AGAIN sending someone to them needlessly, 14 days letter, I received a bill from the OBGYN who was also from optum demanding over $300 payment for the visit... sent them right back to dr. Roberts again, mistake #2. I meant to drop her after that because I can't trust my health with someone who is clearly not. paying attention, unforatunately the pandemic set in and no doctor was taking new patients so I got stuck with her, luckily for me I am pretty healthy so I didn't need to see a doctor for a while, in January of 2023 I went in for a physical and picked up some nasty virus IN THEIR FACILITY!! got deadly sick the same day I went to see dr. Roberts, I'm talking 112 fevers, complete loss of appetite, seizures, called for an appointment, dr Roberts called me back for a video call, when I told her what I felt she said "I need you to come in and get some bloodwork" made an appointment, went in, even though she herself noted I had lost over 22 pounds in less than a month due to the illness, she says "you look better than you did on video, so we're going to skip the blood work and did nothing other than send me a bill. This facility is a money grabbing scam, one of their cardiologists tried to bill me full price for the time to provide me with results from a heart monitor he placed on me... Stay as far away as you possibly can from all things OPTUM, they will let you die but not before squeezing the last dime out of you and your insurance. read more

My visit was supposed to be a physical but I was rushed out & told to reschedule, which I thought was strange but assumed I was healthy enough so it was ok. Then I went in for the rescheduled appointment and I was told the doc is on vacation! Nobody ever called me to reschedule or notify me! To make it even worse, the front desk workers were completely unprofessional and didn't even offer an apology. I took time off work twice to literally waste my time. I won't be returning. read more

Dr. Nowicki is my primary physician, but I can never get an appointment with her. I always have to see someone else. I just had a phone appointment with another doctor and I felt that I got more care and attention from the triage nurse than from the doctor. Place has good parking and clean, entrance is at the back where equinox is. Try to get as early as possible for an appointment, it gets packed. If you do want to get a appointment pls try using the app or their site. They'll call you for confirmation. Always double check your insurance before going if it's going to cover bills. Bad idea. Stay far, far away. Trust me. I called to get a refill on two prescriptions. Never got them. The pharmacist told me to get another doctor and stay away. Bad idea to go with any of their doctors. I couldn't even get an appointment unless it was urgent. I guess it wasn't urgent to get my thyroid prescription and nasal spray refilled. Last and final straw! I have overlooked having Dr Roberts as my primary care physician for quite some time because I only go once a year for a physical exam. However trying to be seen for anything else always lands me with a getting a referral for someone else. I call today trying to get a COVID test because I cannot return to work without getting one due to known exposure with 2 positive coworkers. First it started with scheduling.... the receptionist said I needed a consultation with the doctor before I get tested, I said of course I completely understand. The receptionist says she can schedule one for tomorrow. I beg to get one today seeing as I can't return to work without one. She leaves a message for Dr Roberts to call me today. I let the doctor know that I've been exposed, do not have symptoms and need a COVID test. Her response is that I can go anywhere to get this done and do not need to go through my primary care physician. I explained how my job suggested I go through my own doctor. Dr Roberts again says I can go get one anywhere. Why is it that all of my coworkers went through their own doctors and got set up with a test?! I'm so tired of never getting any resolution or feeling any kind of satisfaction with my personal doctor! I understand that there is a pandemic and things are different and difficult right now.... but this isn't the first time I've had issues with the level of care she has provided. read more

Non covid related. I've seen Dr Spence who I can rate 5 stars, she is a great knowledgeable physician! I've also have had xrays taken there and their X-ray tech is awesome! This review is for the staff who answer calls: the wait time for them to answer is normally around 10 minutes, when they do answer you can hear in their voice how annoyed they are that you're calling, or they are passive aggressive and make you feel dumb! I have been going there for years because it's so close to my home but I will take my PPO coverage somewhere else I don't deserve to feel this way every time I call! I have gone to healthcare partners at this location and they are not professional in terms of dealing with your insurance and the service they provide. They try to rush through all appointments and don't really do a thorough job with providing medical care. On top of that this office ran tests that were completely unnecessary for me and it ended up being charged to me. It wasn't really a lot of money but I do feel this is a place that really tries to get every penny out of their patients just for the sake of making money and not for providing care. This is definitely an example of an institution that is bloating our medical costs in this country. read more

Healthcare is big business in this country. As with any other industry, the local clinics are being overrun by big corporations that, in the disguise of making your health care their top priority, really just want to milk as much money as possible from you. The patients aren't the only victims here either. They're also the good doctors who are employed, and at the same time being hindered, by these healthcare corporations when all they really want was to help their patients get better. I truly believed the doctor that I came to see was a genuine guy. He cared about my well being and really tried to make sure things weren't being overlooked. Seeing that my blood pressure might be a bit high for my age, he had asked me to come back in a week just to get another reading...assuring me that it wouldn't be charge on my account. While there are many things you can't do without prior medical knowledge and/or a medical degree, blood pressure reading shouldn't be one of them. It's so ubiquitous that you can get yours read at a local CVS for free (one of those machines next to the pharmacy) and get online to check if your reading is within the healthy range. Nonetheless, I came back the week after for the sake of having it on record that I wasn't a raging overweight sodiumphilic alcoholic smoker. Indeed, the new reading show that I wasn't. A month later I received two separate bills, one for the initial visit and test which was well over $100 and the other for the second visit, which I assumed wasn't going to be charged. Although the mere $30 charge did not worth my time but for principle I decided to spent a good half hour explaining to/arguing with the the lady behind the phone how this charge was ridiculous and borderline unscrupulous. At some point, she even had the audacity to lecture me that healthcare wasn't free, to which I responded that I clearly knew that as I was going to pay the initial visit cost. The conversation ended with her gave in partially and charged me $20 instead and commented on what a big favor she was doing for me. Whoopie do...that's $10 in saving I can use on gas to take my business elsewhere. The irony here was that I paid that $20 to make sure I wasn't at risk for high blood pressure and it ended up causing my blood pressure to go off the chart. read more

I have had 2 doctors leave this place since I started going there about 5 years ago. At no point did the company tell me this. They only told me when I called to inquire about an on going prescription. On top of this, that particular on going prescription wasn't refilled in a timely manner and caused me to go into withdrawal from the medication. Long story short, if you like being ignored by the staff, treated like your an asshole, and then told that "it should have happened, I don't know what went wrong" so many times that you can almost hear it from them before you call, then this is the place for you. If you would like responsible healthcare professionals, I'd say go anywhere else. I think the doctors are fine, the wait times are fine, but the company does not care about you (or their doctors) in anyway. The front desk people seem to reflect that. There's a line in Goodfellas, spoken by Ray Liotta that would be the perfect motto for this place. I'm sure anyone that's been here knows the one I'm talking about. read more

WTF? Came in to do an annual physical, fully-covered under insurance. I later get a partial-bill from their testing center, LabCorp. Insurance company says the physician's office, HealthCare Partners, did not code some portion of the tests correctly to be fully-covered. Call the physician's office, get sent to voice mail. I don't know if it is the doctors or the assistants, but they need to get their stuff together. I'm on HMO. I had blood tests done at a lab right before I became a patient here. I am having abdominal pain, so they did their own blood work. The doctor wants to send me to a liver specialist and says the office will reach out in regards to getting my previous tests results before he can refer me. The office calls me a day later than he said they would call me and asked me to either DROP OFF or FAX the office the blood results. Oh, apparently they don't receive emails... yeah. I live in Culver City and work in Beverly Hills, so I'm not taking time off work to drive to Hawthorne to drop off a piece of paper. And of course I don't own a fax machine. The office I'm located in doesn't have one. I have to leave work, walk across the street and a few buildings down, and go up to the 5th floor to use a fax machine. Then silence. I don't hear anything for a several days. On the sixth day I call to see what the hold up is. I'm told they received the fax, but the doctor hadn't done what he needs to do to make the referral. Then I get a call the next day, officially ONE WEEK later, from another assistant saying THEY LOST THE RESULTS I FAXED OVER! THEY NEED ME TO FAX THEM AGAIN! Of course, it's a Friday. So the earliest I will hear back about the referral will be Monday, over a week from when I first sent the. How is this place still in business? Oh and to give some perspective, I've only ever posted to yelp one other time . I typically don't care about slamming places on the internet, but this is completely irresponsible for a doctors office to be run. read more

This place can't seem to hold on to their doctors. I have been put of this group for a number of years now. I think this will be the fourth doctor we get switched from. The wait times vary (even with an appointment). The issue is consistency. They do not seem to value it. The front staff is generally in a good mood and friendly. The staff that take the vitals appear to be overworked. I write today because I have been calling all day to get a script filled. So has my pharmacy. Sure it is my fault for not having called yesterday, but really? I called three times. Three. Left three messages. We will get this to the doctor. I heard that twice. I called a little before five and I was then told that my messages were not read. The doctor did the get around to it. It also seems to matter very little when I asked for some urgency. I get a person on the phone that says the messages were not marked urgent. What do I get? Sorry. Now I go on a trip without meds. Thanks healthcare partners. It feels more like Healthcare-less Not Your Partners right now. Jeesh. EDIT/UPDATE: I wrote this review on the day I had the issue. I called HEALTHNET to complain. Nothing they could do. I left for my trip. Did the doctor call? No. Did the office call to follow-up? Nope. I get a response to my Yelp review. Yesterday. Almost 10 days from the time I requested my meds. I've heard other people complain about Healthcare Partners, but I've been coming to my Dr. (Dr. Duralde) here for about 5 years with no problem. There have been maybe 1 or 2 instances when he was running behind, which is understandable (if you don't understand, then you should try a job in healthcare - it's not as easy and stress free as you think). I can only speak for Dr. Duralde, but what I can say is that he takes the time, and is genuinely interested in your health. It's hard to sense that when you only go for regular, quick physicals, or a cold with flu-like symptoms.. but I was getting chest pains frequently, and we did everything from a chest X-ray to an EKG. He wanted to make sure I was absolutely fine. Back in '09 I had some other health complications that lasted almost a year, and I was going in regularly to figure it out. He was always trying to think of what it could be, and I didn't feel like I was ever hurried or brushed to the side. I'll be sad if I ever move away and have to find a new Dr. read more

This review is just for Dr Roberts: This is my least favorite doctor I've visited. The interactions with Dr Roberts feel rushed and she doesn't really focus in on your concern. It's wham bam and on to the next patient super quick. Additionally, I visited her for a low testosterone and fatigue symptoms. She labeled it as "specified counseling" which made it non eligible to be covered by my insurance. I switched up my provider after one too many mistakes. read more

Came for my first today when I walked in the front desk lady was telling a patient that since their insurance changed things are now differently.. she was a little uncomfortable having everyone in the waiting room know her situation.. so I just took out my phone and pretended I could not hear. I had to fill out paperwork (as expected but in today's' world I wish I could do this from home before the appointment) which took about 30 minutes.. I saw the nurse and he was very helpful and sweet (older man from Florida) and the best person I had that has taken my blood... then I saw Dr. Chan.. she was very lovely and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this office for they know what is going on. The minor thing of getting the paperwork filled out before the first appointment I'd highly like to suggest as the only improvement this office needs. read more
