There's a little bridge and stream running through the park, lots of benches and green space to relax and enjoy. The main attraction of the park is definitely the playground, which is huge. I went during the middle of the day and it was a bit chilly, so there was no one using it but it's quite large and I can imagine it gets pretty busy during the warmer days. From the looks of it in other pictures posted, there's shade for the playgrounds in the summer too. There are four large pavilions throughout the park as well, with lots of picnic tables to utilize. There are several huge grassy areas and lots of people walking and playing with their dogs. It was nice to walk through although it's not large enough to walk or run laps around like Liberty Park or Sugarhouse Park. This is a great space to go to if you're looking to picnic, play with your dogs, bring your family to, or sit and read. There was a sign by the entrance that said there is a community garden coming to this park soon! It's a partnership between Wasatch Community Gardens and the city of South Salt Lake. Super cool to see!

In terms of wildlife, they had a small pond at the parking area, which had tons of ducks and I'm pretty sure I also saw a pica which was a first for me. It looked like they also had bathrooms as well as a seating area. I was surprised at how clean everything was and maintained the paved trail was. I definitely recommend coming here for a walk or a run as I felt very safe even by myself at 6am For my birders: There's a pretty good number of species out there, including lesser gold, finches, black Chin, hummingbird, Rufous hummingbird, and others (see photos for an August visit)

It's a good place to hop on, and you can go north or south as the trail will take you back under Winchester Street when you park on the north side. But actually, it's more than just a parking lot launching off point. They actually have a small park here, with a rentable pavilion, restrooms, a small playground, tables, BBQs, and as you're close to the Jordan River, you can launch a canoe here, too. There's not a ton of grass, but enough for the kids to run around. However, you should be aware that there's a small diversion of the river to a pond/flow sort of situation in the midst of the park so you won't want to let the kiddos wander too far from where you can keep an eye on them. Once you get too far from Winchester, the trees get a little more sparse, but there's good shade coverage here for those hot summer days. For me, though, it's most enjoyable in the shoulder months when the foliage is turning or in the spring when you just have to get out and take a long walk.

And there it is, at the end of the street. In fact, there's not really any formal parking, just parking along the side of the cul-de-sac. There are a few picnic tables and one pavilion, a water spigot, garbage service, and a playground. The playground is actually pretty cool, and probably the main attraction. Mostly, though, there's a whole lot of grass here. If you want to run free, picnic, or play a game of ultimate, football, or anything else that requires lots of open space, this is your big grassy field. In the back corner there's a chain link backstop, but no real baseball diamond to speak of as it's all grass. Ya, a little strange to be finding this little park in the middle of a residential neighborhood, but strange is good in this case. A nice diversion and certainly in this incredible fall weather, a nice place to get out of the house while we still can.

There's no roads nearby, other than the cul-de-sac, so there's no dangerous streets bordering the park, so you don't have to worry about children crossing the road and getting into trouble. The playground equipment is relativity new and offers a lot of fun climbing, slides, and other unique obstacles. Our little boy loves playing at Harvest Estates Park! There's a baseball area among the large grass field and several large trees that provide ample shade on a hot summer day. There's also a covered picnic pavilion with several Punic tables. The picnic area is a little worn out and the tables are dirty.

There isn't vegetables at least the last time I was there but there may be as the summer months warm things up.

Legend has it (and I confirmed when my friend arrived) that you can stand on opposite ends of the gazebo and whisper to each other and be heard. Fo' sho' it works! Not only does the park have that neat little attraction, but there are big, beautiful trees all around. I came during Christmas season and got to see them all dressed up in colorful lights. Hint, the lights stay on all night, so go in the early morning to avoid the crowds. Light peeping at 6am just hits differently than at 8pm. I also saw lots of dogs walking their owners-which is a big draw for me. Give me pretty trees, a nice bench, and a parade of pups and I'm set! Oh, and a coffee from Bubble N Bean. Yes, please!

This is a beautiful public lands small park owned by SLC. Parleys Creek runs through it and it…read moreconnects to Sugarhouse Park through an under the road (1300) tunnel. Failed policies, misguided bleeding hearts and restrictions or handcuffs placed on the Police and other agencies have led to it being overrun with homeless, strewn with trash and a public safety risk. One camp of multiple persons was physically right on top of Parleys Creek into which they were throwing trash, defecating, cooking and washing. Parleys Creek is supposed to be a PROTECTED WATERSHED in drought prone UTAH. Helping the homeless and being kind is very noble and charitable. It should not put the taxpaying public at risk. It should not prevent us from using our public spaces, it shouldn't put our children & seniors at risk and it shouldn't pollute & damage sacred public parks and spaces. Let the Police and govt agencies remove dangerous, violent (multiple offense) vagrants from our streets. Don't let camps start in off-limits locations. We can provide temporary housing without renting out hotels.

Man, Cottonwood Heights has some nice parks!…read more Let's talk open space: I can't give even close to accurate coordinates, but you could play professional football (or for that matter, futbol), rugby, baseball, and probably the Highland Games on this field..at the same time. This beautiful field is hidden: Past the parking lot, past the tennis court, and past the playground you'll find this big green expanse. If you like views, the park seem snug against the beautiful foothills of the area. All the facilities are great. There's plenty of parking, the tennis court and playground are in excellent condition, and there's a well maintained covered area with picnic tables. I've been to two Cottonwood Heights parks today and, at both, have seen Parks Department folks keeping the place tip-top. Bring on the summer fun!
