Most communication seems to occur through MyChart messages, letters, or staff messages rather than actual conversations with the provider. Recently I received abnormal imaging results that recommended a breast biopsy. I received conflicting information regarding which breast required biopsy and found myself trying to piece together information from reports, letters, and messages rather than having a discussion with my physician. I understand that healthcare is busy and technology can be helpful, but when patients are dealing with potentially serious findings, many of us would appreciate the opportunity to speak directly with our doctor, ask questions, and understand the risks, benefits, and next steps. The staff has generally been courteous, but the patient-provider relationship feels increasingly impersonal. Patients should not have to rely solely on portal messages to understand significant medical findings. Not everyone has their phone attached to their hip or checks MyChart throughout the day. When abnormal test results require additional testing such as a biopsy, a phone call from the provider's office should be standard practice. Patients should not be left to interpret medical reports on their own while worrying about what the results mean. And in advance, if Riverside Medical Clinic responds with the standard "please contact us" message, I would encourage the clinic to actually review and address patients' concerns rather than sending a copy-and-paste response. The issue is not whether patients can reach out the issue is whether meaningful communication and follow-through occur when they do. My hope is that Riverside Medical Clinic will improve communication and make it easier for patients to speak directly with their healthcare providers when important results are involved.

Quick to see a doctor and my share of cost is awesome! I get a perception of antibiotic and lumps goes down. I cancel other tests and everything seems fine. January hits and my new work insurance starts- NOT ONE DOCTOR can see me anywhere on the day I walk in. Lump returned. I was beside myself that this place doesn't have a contract with Aetna. I made an appointment somewhere else but things are dragging out and I can't help but wonder why I waste my money on insurance which at this moment seems like a waste. I got treated faster and cheaper showing how little I make here! If you know someone that thinks they cannot afford to see a doctor, I highly recommend bringing them here with their last two paycheck stubs. I guess I was lucky to not have a long wait here, but still being seen on the day you walk in- that doesn't happen in Riverside anymore. While the doctors are excellent, you cannot get in to see them because you have to go through their call center that puts you on hold and then reroutes you to another department and puts you on hold only to be told you can't get an appointment for three months with your primary. You can no longer book through your primary and if you need a specialist uou have to go through your primary even if you have a PPO, which means you could literally be waiting for care for months. I know people who have said that their parents passed away because they couldn't get care in time. This place is a shitshow. I hope they get hit with multiple lawsuits. Steve asked if was on Ocella, I said yes and he said the Medical Procider mentioned I was changing it? He phrased it as a question and I said "oh no I have been on Ocella for years, I don't want to change my birth control at all at all, it very important to me" he conversed with me about how he understands, especially with birth control, when something works you don't want to mess with it and that that was fine, we'd stick with Ocella. I'm given my prescription in a white paper bag as usual and head home. Upon arriving at home I see my medication is taped up in an additional white paper bag inside of the packaging. I've never received it this way before in the 8 years I've been taking it.. and you know why ? BECAUSE HE HANDED ME A DIFFERENT BIRTH CONTROL! I understand that maybe this is what my insurance is now covering, whatever. They are similar but this brand has a higher anxiety side effect (I have an anxiety condition!) higher rates or headaches and migraines which I already struggle with wearing contacts and long hours on screens for work, it also has a higher risk of weight gain. I feel like he tried to sneak it past me, didn't want to hear me potentially upset about the change and decided just to tape the sh*t up for me to notice later on. IF YOURE CHANGING MY MEDICATION I WANT TO KNOW! I WANT TO BE INFORMED ON THE DIFFERENT SIDE EFFECTS AND DISCUSS MY OPTIONS!
