Was out for a bit of a ride on the bike today and took the cutoff to Oracle just to see what was up that way. Saw this little place and since it was lunch time we took a chance. Glad we did, nice hidden gem off the beaten path. I had the Italian Grinder and Bobbie had the Ruben both with chips. Both sandwiches were very good with lots of stuff on them. Sometimes when you get sandwiches the filling to bread ratio is way off. This place does it right. And the potato chips are house made and very good, just the right amount of crunch and a plate full of them. We'll have to keep this place in mind if we want an oht of the way place. read more

After a day spent in Oracle with my friends, we decided to stop and eat lunch at the Oracle Patio Cafe. We arrived shortly before 2, the establishment closes at 3 on a Saturday. There were many cars in the parking lot and we were excited to try it out. When entering the establishment, there is a counter where you can purchase desserts and other foods such as bacon, cheese, and other treats. There is a small general store which features other food items such as trail mix and items such as lavender and honey products. We were immediately greeted and were brought back to our table promptly. The environment is comfortable and relaxed and our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I decided on the mushroom burger with goat cheese, peppers, and spinach (there are slot of vegetarian options) and my friends ordered a combination of breakfast and lunch plates. I also ordered a prickly pear mimosa ($5) which was fantastic. I enjoyed the food and the ambiance so much at the Oracle Patio Cafe so much I can't stop raving about it. I would definitely make the drive again from Tucson and bring my whole family. read more

It is totally Al fresco, so if you whine about heat and "rustic surrounding", go to Starbucks where the chubby snow birds flock. Savor an omelet, chili rellenos or fritatta. They received raves. Mid week dining is the pro tip to avoid waiting in the weekend line behind some whining Cali transplant or pretend Harley crowd. Came here on recommendation of a friend who said the chorizo was good (it was!) but the rest of my family did not enjoy their meals. Eggs ordered medium were served with cool runny yolks. Inedible. Service was not friendly. Food and coffee both got cold quickly outside, and coffee was served in paper cups which didn't help. We were seated at a table in the sun next to a very loud group. Ours was, at least, and it looks like Google and Yelp have some confusion over the actual address. Just keep driving, and you'll see it - there's not a lot else around. The area behind the place serves as a patio and storage area for a bunch of derelict furniture. I'm not sure what the deal is with that, but even so, it's pretty nice when there's a breeze. They have plenty of shade, and some crazy decorations that are interesting if nothing else. The food itself was pretty great - not overly exceptional, but good, and if you consider you're in the middle of nowhere, it's pretty awesome. The ingredients seem to be of high quality, and the menu options are significantly diverse. The people are friendly and the service was good. I suspect it gets slow when an unexpected influx of tourists come in, but if you're in this area of the world, you probably don't have a tight schedule to adhere to, so settle down. read more

Oracle Patio Cafe - oh you had me worried but I was pleasantly surprised and you will see me again. We had the grandparents in town and after stopping at Rooster Cogburns Ostrich Ranch and then going to make a trip to the Biosphere 2 we needed to make a lunch stop. We had heard a recommendation for this place and figured we'd try it out. I was worried when we first pulled up. However, we went inside and were seated on the back patio. The location is beautiful and relaxing. The service is friendly and the menu was actually really impressive. All the food was delicious. When we left, we bought two of their cakes to take back to a party we were having that night. Everyone enjoyed it! read more

The front of the building almost turned us away and the patio (no indoor dining) was rustic to say the least. A lot could be done for not much money to brighten and spiff up the front and the patio. "Be Pie Partisan!" One of the greatest things about Segment Hiking the Arizona Trail are all the fun, State Parks and nearby attractions like deliciously awesome "partner" restaurants we would have never known existed had it not been for the AZT. The Oracle Patio Cafe and Food Market is one of these hidden gems where some of the best gourmet breakfast and lunch dishes are served up for our "Hangry" kids to enjoy before hitting the open trail. Ben and I scarfed down the Homemade Corned Beef Hash. As seen on their menu: "Literally homemade, we start with fresh Certified Angus Beef brisket, brine it in our special brine for ten day then roast it long and slow. Hand diced and mixed with potatoes, carrots, onions and herbs it makes great hash. We bake it up and serve it with two eggs over the top and a side of fresh fruit." Bryce jumped all over the Biscuits and Gravy - "Freshly baked biscuits with an original chorizo gravy. A little spicy!" Karolien throughly enjoyed the panini styled "Monte Cristo - Ham and swiss between two pieces of French toast grilled to melted goodness. Served with fruit or potato and syrup." Bianka had the kids giant grilled cheese panini which was HUGE! It even came with a side order fruit bowl. I wonder if she will try the "Ultimate Grilled Cheese - Cheddar cheese, smoked bacon and ripe tomatoes on grilled bread with pesto aioli", on our next visit. The food market was stocked with plenty of natural foods and things a starving hiker would surely enjoy. Arrive early on Saturdays this place closes early, around 3:00 PM. We wanted to get a fresh homemade pie to-go but didn't make the close after a long day on the AZT. Here were some of the yummy choices we will be eagerly awaiting on our next return visit: Cream Pies, Fruit Pies, Key Lime, Lemon Meringue, Carrot Cake, Cheesecake, Coconut Cake, Fresh Apple Cake and even a Chocolate Torte! Wow, what a discovery! Riding from Tucson to Mammoth and on the return ride we discover this gem. After finding a table inside we were told that a patio existed out back so we followed our waitress to this great outside space with shade. The waitress took our drink order and gave us menus. We both chose the personal pizza. It took about 10-15 minutes for our custom made pizzas to arrive. I asked for some parmesan cheese and it showed up in just a couple of minutes, fresh grated no less. Just thinking about it makes me want another one right now. Great food and service! Also I was amazed that there were vegan options. The vegan dishes they had were absolutely amazing. We ordered a few plates and found them both to be delicious. (Vegan chorizo scramble and hemp tamales...YUM!) I will definitely be coming back here. Unexpected pleasure of a lunch. The food is quite good, although my chicken liver omelette was a trifle watery, perhaps because they used frozen livers and didn't get them dry enough before cooking y wife's chile relleno left her very happy. Our friend went with the Ahi Tuna salad, which she loved. I want to go back to try the pies and perhaps pick up a few items from the little store in the front. I really wanted to love this restaurant, it has such great reviews on Yelp. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about the restaurant, food or staff. It was just a bit uneventful. My guess is we visited st the wrong time of year. By AZ standards it's been cold. As such the outdoor seating is not being used. Looking at the area it appears that is a wonderful setting. We did enjoy our meal, but just didn't live up to expectations. We look forward to another try. PS: considering the location, it does deserve 4 stars. read more

Food was fabulous Brie panini with ham ( YUM) friends had Reuben , seared ahi tuna salad, and steak chili. It was all fabulous. Get a take home box so you have room for pie! Definitely will be back! Great atmosphere, food and service! Stopped here on a recommendation from the local lavender farm and are glad we did. We ordered Salmon eggs benedict and the ham/brie sandwich. Both were well prepared and delicious. Our table was well-served by Wylynn, but it seemed that every employee who walked by took a moment to make sure we didn't need anything. Really friendly staff.
