First of all the service is the best we received during our trip to AZ so far. We have been here 8 days, in Tucson and the Phoenix area. The service was outstanding here. The ice cream was quite tasty & more creamy than most places which is a big plus. The flavors were good and well crafted. My favorites were the pralines and cream to which I added hot fudge. The hubs liked all 3 flavors he had. We also tasted the lemon something or other and it was amazing. We didn't get it because we didn't think it would go with our other picks. Next time! First time trying Licks. My parents go there frequently, and we moved back from Vegas a couple weeks ago and since than I've had this place on my mind to try. We had lunch and grocery shopped and on our way back home to Oracle, I wanted to stop and try it. Especially on this hot day. It's a nice ice cream shop. I enjoyed the looks of this place and the flavors. Apparently they change flavors daily and are handmade! I ended up getting two scoops in a cup of Oregon black cherry and pina colada sorbet and I love it. My wife got two scoops in a waffle cone of Vietnamese coffee and chocolate. I couldn't even get a picture of her cone cause she was enjoying eating it. Definitely will be coming back regularly. I bought a Licks sticker for my mining lunch box as well lol. read more

Congratulations on the Yelp Top 100 Ice Cream places. It's well deserved. A friend and I arrived about 15 minutes before closing time. The place is well decorated and clean. The ice cream flavors aren't your typical ones and that's a good thing. We got the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Aztec Chocolate ice cream flavors. Both were excellent. We had a sample of the Oatmeal Little Debby one, while very good wasn't what we wanted. The Aztec Chocolate had a complex dark chocolate flavor with a delayed chile spice on the back end. We missed out on the Birthday Cake flavor as the previous customer got the last bit. She said it's awesome. The service was friendly. Definitely make the drive for ice cream. read more

We have been in several times & Licks is by far our favorite family night ice cream spot. Every time we come in we are greeted with smiles & everyone is so friendly. It's summertime in AZ. Ice cream is a NECESSITY!! Passing through the area getting to Tucson and we saw this from the road. Soooo, on our way back, we had to stop in. Yes we could have stopped at some other chain shop, but you know me! I'd rather go to a mom and pop shop any day and I'm glad we came in! I read a review that mentioned the Bubble Waffle is a must have item. It was REALLY good, so that review was on point! I've had "bubble waffles" from other places before, but this one was unique. Idk how to describe it, but it was made fresh and had a nice crisp on the outside and it was nice and fluffy inside. I should have picked the Butter Beer Ice Cream to go with it instead, but the Honey Lavender wasn't bad. It just had real Lavender in it, and the tiny pieces always get stuck in my teeth, lol. It was still good though! You can sample the ice cream, but only 2 maximum per person. They only have 12 flavors out daily, but they make their own, so you KNOW it's damn good!! It was absolutely perfect this afternoon. I'm not even supposed to really have dairy these days, but there is always a little room for an exception, riiiiiight?! Lol Prices aren't bad, and you are getting quality ice cream here. They also sell items from local vendors. The Prickly Pear Lemonade is tasty, but I always like to dilute mine a bit with some water. Nice people serving a decent product in a cute spot. If you live north of Tucson, ride up Oracle Rd for excellent coffee and good ice cream. Sadly, the ice cream does need some work. We tried the Aztec chocolate, which lacked chocolate and was light on the chile that was advertised, the butter pecan, which was good and had way more nuts than most, and the Vietnamese coffee, which had a decent coffee flavor but was missing something. Add some ribbons of chocolate fudge in that sucker and it would be killer. I hope this small mother and son operation will keep experimenting. I want to go back so I can give a fifth star. read more

Our usual frozen treat locale had no parking spots available, and we already had heard good things about Lick's. So, we decided to make the trek up to Catalina to give it a try. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday, and the line was 5 groups deep! The young man working the counter handled each group efficiently without rushing anyone. Yes, they offer samples. Yes, you can get ice cream with or without cereal and other toppings. Yes, they have cups, cones, and bubble waffle cones. Black cherry seemed to be a favorite of the groups in front of us. My partner gave it a try along with maple walnut. He said both were good, but he really liked the richness of the maple walnut. I tried the honey lavender and brown butter. The honey lavender tasted fresh and spring-like, while the brown butter was rich and caramel-like. I really enjoyed the combination. Lick's is located in the courtyard between the Ace Hardware and Claire's. It's a tasty treat. read more

I ended up getting the bourbon toffee crunch, which was amazing it tas the best flavor I had in a long time. The ice cream was amazing, but it's really good. It's a tiny place, it says maybe seats about 15 to 20 people inside, but there's tables outside, but when we went, it was kind of rainy outside they also have heater lamps to sit outside with They have a low store they could buy different kinds of stuff like soap, coffee and other interesting stuff and they have all different types of stickers. The drive, kind of far, it took about 30 minutes out of our way up going up to Oracle. Near Catalinas You need to open one closer to town by the malls of Tucson. read more
