Stopped by on an afternoon, hoping to grab some take out and do a picnic lunch at the nearby state park. We figured based on the reviews, this was going to be a good decision. The place was suspiciously empty. Customers walked in and walked out. The good first, the host was great. She was kind and helped explain our options. It took us a while to make our choices and she very patiently took our order. The kids meal chicken tenders and fries was okay. The fries quickly lost their crisp in the take out container. Some vent holes in the container could have helped. The chicken tenders were of good size but were too salty. Not good for kids. The enchiladas were okay, the portion was okay. I did not dine in but others noted that chips and salsa was complimentary. Since we got take out, they charged $4 for a small bag of house made corn chips and a small sauce container of salsa. What really spoiled the meal was the $8 side guacamole. I could have gone to any grocery store to pick up a bag of avocados ($5) and made at least 6 of the side container portions. I regret ordering it and could not get it out of my mind. The peace de la resistance, take out surcharge and utensils are another surcharge. I begrudgingly ate the enchiladas, rice & beans with my bare hands. Kiddo, ate the fries and chicken tenders with bare hands. Along a row of Hopkinton restaurant options, Orale was a nice calm alternative. Table and bar service available and an ADA ramp inside that leads to the dining room. Bright and sunny for lunch. Complimentary chips and salsa. I had the Baja burrito, large and very good with both red and green sauces on top. My husband had chicken fajitas, the accompaniments were the size of the meal. Huge. Having grown up in Hopkinton, I have seen this space change numerous times, but this one actually may just be good enough to stick around for a bit! We went in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and at first I was a little bit skeptical just based on the menu, and being given bottled water, and the initially wait time of service, but I was pleasantly surprised by the end! We stopped I yesterday in between protests and couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. I want to give a 5 star review for our waitress who was energetic, kind, attentive and friendly. We loved all the little details the restaurant had to offer- the chips n salsa came out in creative cool wooden bowls, the menus were encased in a unique wood as well..the margarita glasses were unique with cool colorful pieces of glass in them. Now the food- omg SO good. Let me state that I've been to Mexico and this was muy auténtico. I got the orale burrito with steak and my wife got the carnitas tacos. The flavors were incredible and we were incredibly pleased with the meals. The portions were huge so for the price we essentially got 2 meals out of them. Margaritas were delicious and the decor and vibe of the place was top notch. Highly recommend and really happy to have this place in Hopkinton. We will be regulars for sure! read more

Cute Mexican restaurant right in downtown Hopkinton. We've only used for takeout so far, but they have a separate seating area which includes a full bar off the kitchen - cashier area. The fajitas are a good deal. Not a gourmet Mexican restaurant, but a nice casual spot where the food is fresh and nicely prepared. We'll be back to try the seating area soon. read more

Decided to try this new place in town, they still don't have their liquor license , however the food was strictly ok . The ambience is a derivative of the older cafe that resided here with touch of Mexican art and paintings. It was lunch time on a Saturday afternoon, we got the beef tacos, guacamole, quesadillas and the chicken fajitas. The beef tacos were dry and not well stuffed/seasoned for 5 bucks a taco, lacked any stuffing apart from the beef , no onions no coriander or any seasonings that's you have with traditional tacos, I had to ask for extra sauce to make it 'tasty' . The guacamole lacked salt and lemon , the quesadillas were decent and well stuffed. The chicken fajitas were not your normal sizzling dish , it was pretty mellow, but the sauce was excellent and it tasted really good on a bed of peppers and onions . The rice beans accompanied by the tacos and fajitas were basic and nothing out of the ordinary, The service was very good and our server was very attentive and got us everything we wanted. I hope the quality of the food improves as time goes by . I've never had good luck with food in good old sleepy hoppy town ( apart from. Blue square which has awesome gourmet pizza ) and was hopeful this place changed that , i guess that still remains to be desired . Mexican salad was just lettuce, tomato, cucumber, chicken, pico de gallo. Could have made that at home, and it was soggy. Oh, and they forgot the dressing. Also ordered a pork burrito and nachos. Both were stone cold. The order was obviously made immediately, and then sat around too long after we were told it would take 35 minutes. The positive--the burrito flavors were very good! Tacos Al pastor and carnitas are the best around, everyone is super nice.....food is beautifully plated with super fresh flavors, not over salted like their competitors in the metro west. Definitely worth trying out, looking forward to bringing the kids. read more

We started going here a few weeks after they opened. It was very crowded at first, as new restaurants always are in this area because there aren't that many. We started ordering take-out, which has always been good. This time we came with friends. We were able to order beer and spirits (they also have wine). The Mezcal tasted nice and smoky. They have cocktails, but I chose to drink it straight. One of the people who came with us had a tequila and said it was good. The service was a little slow and we did have to remind the server once, but I'm not taking that off my rating because it was still very good and he was very apologetic about not remembering the item. There was only one table when we arrived, so maybe the server was busy helping with the take-out orders. We will certainly continue to order take-out and go there with guests. read more

Above and beyond ! I ordered delivery this evening through the website. What I learned is that the delivery orders go to DoorDash who claimed my address was not real and cancelled my order. Called the restaurant to try to figure out what happened and they were so kind. I told them my order and the sweet owner delivered it herself! I am so happy to have good Mexican food in Hopkinton. Great start for this week old restaurant. Tacos were excellent! Both Al Pastor and shrimp. Everything fresh and pico was delish. Burrito is huge. We've only gotten take out from Orale Mexican restaurant in Hopkinton and every time we get it there's always a problem with our order. Today my husband placed the order at 4:45 and was told via online that it won't be available until 6. It wasn't a complicated order - 2 quesadillas. It was ready a little before 5:30 - the meat in both was over cooked and could hardly even taste the tiny chunks of meat. After the last time tonight I doubt we will go back. I'm not happy about the service but was hoping they would get better once the kinks were worked out. But not the case. It's so nice to have choices in town of more restaurants but I don't think this will succeed. I hope it does improve. read more

Today was our first visit to Orale and we will absolutely be returning. The food is delicious with generous portions. You can tell from the very first bite that everything is authentic and homemade--delicious flavors. Finally a family owned Mexican restaurant in Hopkinton. Been there twice, carne asada burrito first and chicken flautas the second time. Both were great but I really do love the family owned aspect. I know there are not a lot of reviews, but seriously. This is one of the most poorly run restaurants I have been to in some time, and the food is average at best. From the bartender who takes 5 minutes to make a single drink which is half full, to the young man waiting tables who has obviously not been trained who was on his phone when 5 out of 9 tables had no drinks. It took 2.5 hours to order a round of drinks, apps, and entrees. I never write reviews unless it is positive. This was really not good. I live in Hopkinton and hope for better. Sad state. read more
