Over priced guacamole, Gatorade for size comparison

Stopped by on an afternoon, hoping to grab some take out and do a picnic lunch at the nearby state park. We figured based on the reviews, this was going to be a good decision. The place was suspiciously empty. Customers walked in and walked out. The good first, the host was great. She was kind and helped explain our options. It took us a while to make our choices and she very patiently took our order. The kids meal chicken tenders and fries was okay. The fries quickly lost their crisp in the take out container. Some vent holes in the container could have helped. The chicken tenders were of good size but were too salty. Not good for kids. The enchiladas were okay, the portion was okay. I did not dine in but others noted that chips and salsa was complimentary. Since we got take out, they charged $4 for a small bag of house made corn chips and a small sauce container of salsa. What really spoiled the meal was the $8 side guacamole. I could have gone to any grocery store to pick up a bag of avocados ($5) and made at least 6 of the side container portions. I regret ordering it and could not get it out of my mind. The peace de la resistance, take out surcharge and utensils are another surcharge. I begrudgingly ate the enchiladas, rice & beans with my bare hands. Kiddo, ate the fries and chicken tenders with bare hands. Like animals, we licked the heck out of the $8 guacamole container.

Along a row of Hopkinton restaurant options, Orale was a nice calm alternative. Table and bar service available and an ADA ramp inside that leads to the dining room. Bright and sunny for lunch. Complimentary chips and salsa. I had the Baja burrito, large and very good with both red and green sauces on top. My husband had chicken fajitas, the accompaniments were the size of the meal. Huge. Very friendly service.

Having grown up in Hopkinton, I have seen this space change numerous times, but this one actually may just be good enough to stick around for a bit! We went in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and at first I was a little bit skeptical just based on the menu, and being given bottled water, and the initially wait time of service, but I was pleasantly surprised by the end! My sister got the oral burrito, I got chicken fajitas, and my dad got the steak tacos. Each portion was A LOT of food and very tasty! I

We stopped I yesterday in between protests and couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. I want to give a 5 star review for our waitress who was energetic, kind, attentive and friendly. We loved all the little details the restaurant had to offer- the chips n salsa came out in creative cool wooden bowls, the menus were encased in a unique wood as well..the margarita glasses were unique with cool colorful pieces of glass in them. Now the food- omg SO good. Let me state that I've been to Mexico and this was muy auténtico. I got the orale burrito with steak and my wife got the carnitas tacos. The flavors were incredible and we were incredibly pleased with the meals. The portions were huge so for the price we essentially got 2 meals out of them. Margaritas were delicious and the decor and vibe of the place was top notch. Highly recommend and really happy to have this place in Hopkinton. We will be regulars for sure!

I have to admit, having fresh ingredients in a burrito is key. Love this place and so does my family.

I'm posting this review on behalf of my first grader. Note that she simply calls the restaurant "Mexico" because she doesn't know the full name. "In my opinion Mexico is the best restaurant. One reason I like Mexico is that there is funny skeletons in the entrance. It is funny. Another reason I like Mexico is because it is fun to wait. You can play iSpy or a card game. Also, I like their cheese quesadilla. For example the cheese quesadilla is cheesy. Now you know why Mexico is the best. Do you want to go?" We love going here. The food is great and atmosphere happy and colorful. And they are always kind to my kids. Thank you for many great evenings.

The restaurant is relatively clean and decorated like a typical Mexican restaurant. Service was still pretty slow considering there were only 3 groups but atleast they were friendly. We finished our chips and they never came back to see if we wanted more. My husband and I both ordered burritos and should have read it more carefully it was literally just a burrito, dry as could be with no sides, no guacamole, no sour cream. They were just rice, beans, and meat. My husband's had very little meat in it and mine had a lot of inedible pieces of steak. Honestly chipotle has much better burritos. She never came back to ask if we were all set or needed anything. The margaritas were just okay. I ordered a side of refried beans that came in a broken bowl with a plastic spoon? Not sure if they are just really stingy on their prices (no chip refill, extra $ for sour cream), or what was going on but definitely won't be going back here.

I wasn't familiar with the name, so I wasn't sure if it was the same thing--but it was! When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty quiet. That said, the takeout itself was quick, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our meals were delicious and full of flavor. My only suggestion would be to use diced tomatoes in the salad rather than sliced, but that's just a personal preference. And the chips and queso were absolutely delicious! Definitely a highlight of the meal! Overall, we had a good experience and would come back again.

Even though the space housed other ethnic restaurants since then, the decor and interior feel reminiscent of the old Iguana Cantina. The servers are friendly and quick to help. A bottomless basket of complimentary warm chips are thick and tasty and served with a plate of refried beans as well as a bowl of sneakily spicy salsa. I ordered the Loco Burrito on this visit and was pleased with the flavor of the carne asada beef diced up inside. This burrito was stuffed with meat, black beans, and rice and was topped with a sprinkling of cotija. I usually love a super cheesy burrito but this felt lighter on a hot summer day. After downing lots of chips and a delicious fountain Diet Coke (IYKYK), I only had room for half of my burrito. My teenage son happily finished the rest for me the next day. I opted for a Corona, and the drink, with its tajin covered rim and trio of seasoned shrimp, was a refreshing start to the meal. The pork was salty, tender, and flavorful, and the creamy beans were a nice complement. My family also enjoyed the Carne Asada and large Loco Burrito. Despite an empty dining room, the atmosphere was upbeat with friendly and attentive staff, colorful decor and Mexican tunes at the perfect volume on the radio.

Over the years, the quality went downhill, and ownership announced in late June '23 that they would be closing temporarily and reopen with a "new and improved" Hola. I was excited to check it out tonight Unfortunately, it was hard to find anything improved about the new Hola. The chips and salsa remain very good, and we had plenty of time to enjoy them as our food took a *long* time to come out, despite being just a few customers on a Monday night. Two of the three of us ordered Baja Fish tacos ($17) but they messed up the order and brought Shrimp Gober tacos instead, so we had to wait even longer for them to make the actual food we ordered. Some of the fish tacos were served with very unappealing, old browned avocado, while others had pathetic tiny slivers of fresher avocado. The De Asado tacos ($16) were sparsely filled with super dry meat, accompanied by dry, crispy rice. Not sure if these were just sitting drying out in the kitchen while they remade the fish tacos, or if this is typical. The "avocado sauce" listed on the menu was non-existent, and the main flavor came from using the leftover salsa from our chips to moisten the tacos. Nobody ever came to our table to refill waters or ask if we were enjoying our meal - I really miss the old staff, who were warm and inviting, and seemed genuinely eager to please. If this is the new "improved" Hola, I will mourn the demise of the old Southborough gem that Hola was, and cautiously seek out other Mexican restaurants in the area.
