I'm not sure what moved this greater Seattle-based mini chain to open their first remote location…read morein my neighborhood in Dallas, TX, but I'm very glad they did, and hope they thrive here for a very long time. You order at the counter, and if you're like me and don't love Ipad do it yourself ordering, there is a helpful person (usually Christina) close by to answer your questions and take your order for you, with the benefit of her expertise and insight. We took the path less traveled on our first visit, and ordered a sandwich (porchetta), salad (pesto burrata), and comfort dish (lasagna). Each dish was beautifully constructed with top shelf ingredients, generous portions, and imaginative composition, delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. The pasta dishes on surrounding tables looked amazing, especially a teen boy's carbonara with linguine at the table next to us. We will be back often to explore other options, including pasta entrees, fried risotto croquettes, and the Mediterranean salad. The vibe inside is nice and casual, populated mostly by young neighborhood families with well behaved progeny. When the weather is nice, there is ample covered outside seating too. Once you get your food, it's up to you to take charge to get anything more that you want-need, like water, additional food/drinks, napkins, etc. You may get frustrated if you expect someone to come by and service you in this manner, as it is contrary to the basic mechanics of this establishment. Bottom line, this is high quality Italian food for very reasonable prices, in a casual environment, all attributes that I look for in places that I choose to become a regular customer. I will be back often, because it is fantastic.

First impression ambiance isn't a "dining" experience. But wait...friendly service and fantastic…read morefood! I've looked for authentic short rib ragu since being in Italy...and I finally found almost the equal(taste and quality is equal but I'd love a little more taverna ambiance but that's just me!) The bolognese was as good! The pastas we chose-handmade fresh were excellent! We ordered ravioli to try at home later! It's a definite go to again!!

My first experience here wasn't the best, so I was curious to see how a second visit would compare…read more A friend was moving out of town and wanted to come here, so I decided to give it another try and order completely different dishes. We started with the focaccia bread (5/5). Wow--this might be some of the best bread I've ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the dip was delicious. I usually try not to fill up on bread before the entrées arrive, but we made sure to finish every bite. We also ordered the burrata salad (5/5), which was a very generous portion and absolutely delicious. I would definitely order it again. For our entrées, my friend and I shared the chicken piccata and the bolognese. The chicken piccata was a 5/5 for me, while the bolognese was a 4.5/5. Both dishes were excellent and I'd happily order either again. This visit was a completely different experience from my first one, and I'm glad I came back. I'd love to return with my husband sometime.

The restaurant was very busy, the acoustics made it had to have a conversation and hear each other. Food was wonderful, I had the chicken Parmesan on recommendation from our server and it was phenomenal. Others in our party enjoyed their food as well.
