    Dinner w Dan (a series)

Il Bracco was yummy and def a vibey little crowd. We came in for dinner on a Sunday evening and had a wonderful first experience. I have come to find myself in Preston Center a lot. It always makes me feel like I'm back home in a way. I had a glass of Chianti and we started with the focaccia with whipped ricotta. We both chose pasta dishes, I had the spicy gemelli and bestie had the bolognese which he didn't seem to like much but when I tried it I thought it tasted great. I don't care for a lot of meat sometimes so I wouldn't have ordered it as my main but it really complimented the spicy gemelli - perhaps going halfsies would have been a nice option. Service was attentive and our dishes came out fast, we sat indoors beside the bar but the patio could have been a really nice option if you're a patio person. I typically am not. I have yet to find a Dallas Italian spot that I love more than my current no.1 back home (Donna's on Sunset in LA) but this meal was delish and I wouldn't rule out dining here again in the future.

Food: Our group started with the Meatballs, which came with their House-made Focaccia, and let me tell you, both were divine in their own right. The meatballs were very succulent, bathed in a tomato gravy that you'd want to lick every drop of from the plate. The focaccia, on the other hand, had a pillowy interior, and the crust almost seemed caramelized, with a slight sweetness that paired nicely with the tartness of the tomato gravy. For our main course, we ordered the Cacio e Pepe, Spicy Gemelli, Pesto Rigatoni, and Bolognese--all were phenomenal. Then, to cap things off, we had a dreamy gelato, with a cloud of whipped cream, topped with pistachio and drizzled with olive oil. Service: Great! What you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and very accommodating to our needs. Ambiance: Casual, modern. Parking: Ample parking. Located in a plaza.

In our recent trip to Dallas, was looking for a good Italian restaurant to try out, came across il Bracco, reviews were good for food, but mixed for service but still decided to try. We had made reservations for weekend lunch, decided to seat outside, as it was bit chilly outside, so inside was packed, and outside was only one table occupied, they had the heater and a blanket, it was so cozy. Our server was nice but absolutely zero attentiveness, like we had keep looking for him and flag him down, my son couldn't get his soda refilled, and he dint check not even once after we got our food, even though we were in mood for dessert, dint had patience to wait for him anymore, so asked my husband to get the check, and me n my kiddo walked across for a gelato place, and it took my husband almost 30mins to flag him down and to pay the bill, that's insane, they really have to work on there service part. We ordered: we shared HOUSE MADE FOCACCIA, I got CACIO E PEPE, hubby got SPICY GEMELLI, and kiddo AL LIMONE, Focaccia was good, I loved mine, hubby liked his, but kiddo dint like AL LIMONE, it was toooo bland. I got espresso martini, which was well made, hubby liked his beer. Overall food is good, ambience is good, but service sucks!!

il Bracco is decent, but very overpriced. I got the crispy artichokes to start. They were indeed super crispy and had a great texture (without being deep fried) but they were EXTREMELY salty. I also got the combo sandwich. It was good but not worth the $22 it costs.

I have always adored il Bracco, but now I have a new reason to appreciate it--they are open quite late relative to other Dallas restaurants and allow takeout almost until closing!! Which was perfect for us when we needed a late dinner spot. Everything was as incredible as always--always a big fan of the spicy gemelli and the chicken piccata. The cacio e pepe was delicious as well!! Big fan

il Bracco is a neighborhood Italian restaurant in Dallas that serves some of the best Italian food in the city. I've never had a bad meal here as the food and service are excellent. Heads up, it's not cheap (nothing is in 2025), but the price of admission is well worth it. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - il Bracco is a small, cozy restaurant. There is outdoor seating that's very comfortable with shade during the fall and spring, and heaters for the winter. It's dark inside - perfect for date night or people watching. 1 Star. Service - Our server was excellent and professional. She shared a couple of items not on the menu (one sheet lasagna) and made sure all our needs were met. il Bracco's servers are the type you find in a high-end restaurant, because it is one. 1 Star. Food - If you like Italian sandwiches, order The Combo. On my latest visit, I ordered my server's recommendation - one sheet lasagna. The lasagna was a single sheet of pasta in a pan, topped with parmesan cheese and pesto, then baked. With each bite, I savored the creamy sauce, ricotta cheese. The baked pasta was a great contrast to the creamy cheese. Best of all - it felt like I was eating a light dish. It was one of the most unique and tasty Italian dishes I've ever had. Again, il Bracco is not cheap, but it's really good. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes - but only for special occasions. il Bracco is great, but quality comes at a high price. While I really enjoyed my visit, I'll need to space them out since this is more of a date night or celebration restaurant. 1 Star.

Last night was my second time going, and just like the first time the food and service was extraordinary! I will definitely be coming back to try more menu items but have had the focaccia, crudo, beef tartare, cacio e Pepe, bolognese, steak, spicy vodka pasta, tiramisu, and the Italian sundae! All were great!

I want so badly to give five stars - this one comes close and their business is bursting out the front door to show for their accolades. I believe reservations are full, but dropping in while dining for one was not a problem, and Allie took exceptional care with thoughtful recommendations and service details even while the bar remained full. Ambiance is enhanced by an open kitchen, and the managers are circulating regularly to ensure quality remains consistently high. My favorite litmus for classic Italian is sampling their Cacio e Pepe, and this one hits the mark with thick al denté handmade pasta, peppery and hot. In contrast, Meatballs are delicate and moist, perfectly balanced between sweet & acidic flavors dancing on the tongue, served with house made herbed foccaccia crisp and spongy for dipping up lingering last bites. To finish, a gorgeous Lemon Tart - no meringue, just sweet/tart with a crusty graham cracker crust for textural contrast. It's elegant on all counts and worth returning with the whole family for sharing!

Food was excellent though I don't like everything that's on the menu, everything I tried thus far has been spot on! Servers here are usually attentive and friendly. My server today was Princess and she exceeded my expectations . I am so happy I came in today!

il Bracco has been on my list for years and I had the opportunity to grab dinner here recently with some friends. We had a large group of 6 people and were able to easily book a reservation and be seated once at least 4 of us had arrived. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed compared to the ones around it! The hostesses and wait staff were all very kind and the entire place had a classy, warm ambiance. The menu was concise, offering a variety of Italian classics, wines and drinks. For our appetizer, we ordered two of the House Made Focaccia with whipped ricotta, roasted garlic, and thyme. Let me just say, this focaccia was amazing! It was beautifully baked, had a perfect olive oil crust on top along with the thyme. The whipped ricotta butter spread also had a pool of olive oil inside. It was spectacular! This dish was definitely my favorite part of the night and a reason that I plan to return! For my entree, I ordered the Pesto Rigatoni. The pasta was very well cooked and the amount of pesto was just right. One of my friends also ordered this pasta and enjoyed it as well. The rest of my group ordered the Spicy Gemelli, Cacio E Pepe and Pesto Crusted Salmon. No one had negative things to say about their dishes. I also tried the Spicy Gemelli myself, and I would love to order the dish during my next visit here. For drinks, a couple of my friends ordered the Bracco, with is frozen greyhound with Aperol, New Amsterdam and fresh grapefruit. They said it was delicious, and one of them, who had visited this restaurant before, said it was her favorite thing on the menu. Lastly, on our way out, one of the hostesses even offered to take a group picture of us. She was so kind and went above and beyond! Overall, it was a wonderful night and I am pleased with each of the dishes I tried. I would love to come back to get the house made focaccia bread, try another pasta dish, and take a look at the wines and dessert menu. Thanks for a great night!

I came here on a date. We had a reservation and were sat ~30 minutes late, as they were running behind. Good for them being so popular but this restaurant was sooo noisy that we couldn't hear each other speak. It's definitely good for groups, but I wouldn't so much recommend it for an intimate date. It's on the dresser side in my opinion, we were dressed up as were most of the people there. When we did finally get that, the food was really nice and there was a little bit of a wait for our meals but nothing too crazy. I'd definitely order takeout from here or maybe try eating in again but not on the weekend.

I came here with a friend on a Friday night - we didn't have a reservation (I would recommend one if planning ahead), but were able to get seated quickly outside! We started with drinks, the burrata salad, and crispy artichokes. My friend got a wine with help from the waiter's recommendation and I got the Bracco - if you're a grapefruit lover like me, meet one of your new favorite cocktails! It's made with greyhound, apersol, new Amsterdam, and fresh grapefruit - served frozen, it was perfect for a Dallas summer evening! We absolutely loved the burrata salad and the artichokes lived up to the hype (since it seems everyone recommends them)! For mains, I got the chicken piccata, and my friend was stuck between two pastas, so we got both! Everything was amazing - the pesto is one of my favorite pasta dishes I've had and all of the flavors on the piccata were delicious/it wasn't too heavy! We were too full to sample anything from the dessert menu, and gladly took some leftovers home. Our servers were amazing and attentive, but also gave us some room to chat/didn't feel overbearing! I would definitely recommend this place and will be back!

I had an absolutely incredible dining experience at il Bracco. The Spicy Gemelli might very well be the best pasta I've ever had. It's simple, but executed to absolute perfection. The Combo Sandwich? A stellar take on an Italian classic. Rich, layered flavors, and perfectly toasted bread. We also ordered the Kale Salad, which was surprisingly delicious and worked beautifully as a palate refresher between bites. And just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, dessert landed: Blue Bell ice cream with pistachios and olive oil. Mind. Blown. Whoever thought of that combo deserves a medal. Service was just as memorable, Willie was a fantastic host, and Brent and Becca behind the bar were absolutely superb. Friendly, knowledgeable, and added to the overall great vibe. I can't wait to come back. il Bracco is a gem.

I have plenty of parking in the back. Ordered the chilled crab claw appetizer and the portion was very generous. The crab meat was a bit firmer and drier than I expected, though that may simply be due to it being served chilled. Overall, we enjoyed it. For entrees, we shared the casino linguine vongole (clam pasta)- they split this on 2 plates for us, and chicken parm vodka (forgot to take a photo). Both were very good! Presumably meaning wine, but we were considering cocktails and a bit confused by the question. He said "I'll come back when you're ready," and disappeared for the first of many long absences. From the beginning it felt like we were ruining his life. He was cheerless and curt and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. It would be more understandable if the restaurant was super busy or understaffed. But this was Monday at 6 pm. We listed a birthday on the reservation, but it wasn't acknowledged. Why bother to ask if we are celebrating? We waited for empty plates and glasses to be cleared between courses. We waited a long time for him to return so we could order a second glass of wine. Even longer for the plates to be cleared and longer still for the opportunity to order dessert...a piece of cake for the birthday girl and two after dinner drinks...but the drinks weren't picked up from the bar when the cake was delivered, and only remembered when we asked for the check. We watched him pick them up (well after the cake was consumed) on his way to leave the bill. No mention that they had been overlooked, no thank you, no good night. This was our first time at Barsotti's and it will be our last. Aside from the awful service, we had issues with the food as well. The veal was pounded paper thin and fried hard resulting in a tough, chewy texture similar to dried beef or jerky. It was dry and overcooked on two different dishes. On a more positive note, we enjoyed the fried ravioli appetizer and the redfish was fine. While our waiter was largely MIA and unpleasant when he did show up, the bus boy/assistant was gracious and attentive. Maybe he was trying to compensate for his colleague. BTW, the offensive employee was in his late 40s to mid 50s with a slight build and salt and pepper hair.

The angel hair pasta was so soft it felt like it must have been cooked before noon and kept warm. And the rose sauce, a combo of their house red sauce and Parmesan cream, had no flavor at all.
