Wait...I haven't reviewed Ale House? How is that possible? If you want a good, local bar, with lots of TVs, some darts and pool...this is the place to go. It doesn't try to pretend it's something it's not. Roll up in yoga pants...sure, why not? The wings are tasty, they have Sunday Ticket and free darts on Sunday as well. The bartenders are all hot (seriously!) and the pours are strong. Solid, go-to-local spot....and you can easily make a new friend, as there are always chill people hanging around. They do 15% off to EMT, FireFighters, etc Tuesday, all you can eat wings on Tuesdays for 6.99 (until 10), a DJ Thursdays and all kinds of bands and special events on the weekends. I really enjoy watching a football game at The Orange Ale House. If you ask, they will accommodate any game you want to watch on their many screens. I particularly enjoy their wings. Also, the pizza is made with Zuppardi's crust, which is awesome. There are some good seasonal beers on tap and usually some local ones, like Stony Creek. read more

I came in yesterday with a few friends. First it was just 2 of us then 4 more came in shortly after to watch the first NFL game. We gather together to watch football, eat, drink and be merry! Always lots of food, fun and laughs with this crew. Except it appears we chose the wrong venue today. One thing about my crew is we are all also generous tippers, no less than 25% for good service. This is where OAH fell extremely short of our expectations. Forty five minutes we sat at the table and had to go up to the bar to get a drink or we would be thirsty. The entire time the table of regulars were being brought out multiple plates of wings, burgers, beverages etc. and the server would not even acknowledge us trying to get her attention. When I first arrived there with a friend and we were promptly served our first beverage and she ordered a sandwich off the breakfast menu. It looked delicious and she said it was good. However things went quickly down hill from there. After the 6 of us waited an hour it was already half time and we had no service at all so we just paid for the one sandwich and 2 drinks orders on the tab when we got there at 12:45 and got the heck out of there! Never again! We went down the road a bit where we grew to a party of 9 and had over a $500 combined tab and tipped the server well over $100 combined total. The girl that served us at OAH got 6 cents, and that was only because we didn't have change for a quarter!!! Terrible, just terrible! read more

Been here a few times, surprisingly okay bar food. The free Wednesday night happy hour pizza that was serve yourself was even okayish. 95% of the staff is super friendly and quick to help with anything. It's a bar with good bar food, drinks come fast and not under or over poured... there's something to be said about that... consistency is great. Also, when you order literal top shelf bourbon or whisky, they have a cool little flip down step the shorter girls use to climb up to reach the top shelf... it's cute and always gets a laugh. Great fun nights of darts, shuffle board table, and even a dj with a mechanical bull... payperview nights have a cover but it's like $5 and a fun night for boxing and ufc. I used to frequent Orange Ale House when I lived in orange. I went to high school with the owners younger son. A friend of mine passed away and we decided to go there after. We did the Spartan package which came with salad, wings, pasta and pizza and it all was great. The bartenders were attentive, food was exactly what we needed. Orange Ale House is the kind of friendly neighborhood venue that these days is actually hard to find. Their location is super convenient and there is plenty of free parking right outside the front door in a lot. The prices of food and beverage are fair and there are tons of TV's to enjoy. It's bigger than you might think from seeing the outside and each area inside has it's own personality. There is plenty of natural light streaming in during the daytime too and lots of seating options and different spaces to eat & drink. So If you want a comfortable, unpretentious place to relax, eat and drink and feel like you can spontaneously just show up then give the Orange Ale House a try. This place is ok if you only drink bud light and wear your hat backwards and have low standards. My wife and I went there for a burger and drinks we sat at a high top table in the bar for ten minutes without being waited on despite having both bartenders/ servers look at us multiple times. They were obviously overwhelmed opening bud light bottles. We walked out drove down to Plan B and had a awesome burger along with excellent service from both bartenders. Was just in two weekends ago! Went Friday night with family and had enough fun to want to bring a handful of my friends there Saturday night. The drinks are great, the food is definitely 5 star bar food (burgers, wraps, nachos, wings, etc.), and the servers are personable. My dad has gotten the seafood dishes a handful of times and loves them! The live band played great covers, the tvs always have the games on (and ask to turn yours on if you don't see it!), and there is always a great crowd compared to a lot of other bars. It's close to downtown Milford but I honestly typically choose to come here 90% of the time because I know the experience I have when I come here every time: great food, great service, great music, great crowd. I'm glad ale house is still able to provide service during these times although they should really consider the employment of their bartender amber lee. Not only does she portray a nasty attitude and misery at having to be at her job she is also rude. I was told Saturday that I had to order food with alcohol purchase, which was fine. Only until amber lee charge me for my mozzarella sticks but never delivered them! My husband and I waited about 45 minutes before asking about their status as the bar was busy and at that time she said sorry the kitchen was closed and couldn't have them made for me! I was still charged, and at this point still drinking! So what was the point of having me get food in the first place! She was not at all understanding and continued to give us dirty looks the remainder of the night. You really find out how much they value their clientele right away. Was meeting a friend for drinks and a bite to eat yesterday evening. I arrived a few minutes before 8..half the place was closed off for an event (ok) so the tables and bar on the open side were filled up...no problem. I was waiting patiently for my friend..and three people at the end of the bar were getting up to leave. I went over and grabbed one seat and, when I placed my hand on the seat next to it...the chair was pulled from my grasp - by the owner. I excused myself and explained that I needed a chair for a friend I was waiting for...to be told "we're too busy..we need these chairs and we don't want people sitting here at the service station" When I pointed out that three people had just gotten up from there the owner looked me right in the eye..sneered at me and said "well, THEY had been here all afternoon and I wasn't about to throw them out.." Hmmm...I thought it was called customer service. My friend showed up and we stayed (against my better judgment). Service staff was nice but run ragged because the owner didn't have enough people on to service the regular bar and a special event. We asked for a menu and were told that if we wanted food we better order soon as the kitchen was backed up at least 40 minutes (hey...at least they told us). We went to close out our tab and were handed a slip with some kindness from the bartender "hey...sorry we're so busy that last round of shots is on me" - too bad we didn't order shots. We finally got the right slip, settled up and ended up night. Would definitely go back again but the owner made it clear that he doesn't need our patronage.....I bet he probably doesn't need yours either. read more

Cool place, nice crowd and atmosphere. Would definitely go back. Was in area to hang out with college friends on homecoming weekend. Came here for drinks, played shuffleboard and DJ. We had a great time. Nice place inside, spacious, clean, good crowd, good service And friendly/fun crowd. The DJ was good and we had a great time. Only reason didnt give 5stars was because we didn't eat here so not sure how food was. The have a separate bar area on one side, other side is wheee DJ plays, has tables, dart boards, pool tables and shuffleboard table. I was having a fine time playing darts with a friend, when the owner randomly came up to me and tersely accused me of breaking a beer bottle over his toilet. He said that he had a video of me doing so (weird, since the toilet is obviously in the bathroom), and that the police were on their way. I told him I had no idea what he was talking about (which I still don't), and that he was 100% mistaken, and he eventually left me alone. I have to say by far one of the worst places I have been to in regards to customer service. Came in on Sunday during football to meet a friend, not busy by a long shot. First, Over all not a bad looking bar but if your going to call yourself an ale house you might want to put more on tap. Second I am pretty sure they serve food which I was interested in getting but since the entire 40 minutes I sat at the table with my friend not one staff member came over. I can't say how the food tastes since I could never order it. I would have ordered from the bar staff but they seamed more interested in milking the older crowd of regulars for more tips then a new customer standing at the bar. I walked in after making a reservation for my daughters birthday. I was denied service because all the tables were apparently reserved for trivia. I purchased a groupon for the location. I live out of state so there will never be another time for me to return. I am extremely disappointed i was denied service with 5 hungry kids on my daughters birthday. I was brushed off instead of them trying to make right of the situation. I can't even get a refund or credit for the money i am losing. It's only $15 but the point is the 5 hungry kids and there was no consideration for the fact that i made a reservation for today and was there on time.
