Me and my friends love this place. It's like the hidden gem of the area. We are always welcomed in by either the bartender and/ or waitresses and seated very quickly. Once you've perused the menu, youI'll see the prices are beyond a great deal, literally I can say it's pre-pandemic pricing. I love a great deal, it gives you that feeling of great value. All entrees except for sandwiches, come with soup or salad. They have their normal large portion meals, and smaller portion meals which make for an even better deal as well and you'll get more than your money is worth. I've gotten the prime rib and ribeye here. Both are great choices and were cooked to my desired temp of medium rare. Very flavorful and fatty which I love. The ambiance here is like your local neighborhood Applebees, except brighter, with fresher food that is mostly not made from frozen, workers here are very friendly. The decor here is wood tavern I'd say. Overall it's been a very great experience and we will definitely be back for more. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area looking for a good at a great price!

Food is excellent, but unless you are a regular, don't expect stellar service. - Especially in the bar area

Elderly dad and his girlfriend ate there a few weeks ago. Had a seafood dish and was sick as a dog the at night and all day the next day.

Good soup. Good conversation it reminded me of CHEERS walked in and they seem to know my name before I ordered.

We arrived on a Monday around peak dinner time, but there was essentially no wait (apparently uncommon according to my friend -- just a delightful consequence of dining at a college town during the summer). We split a medium pizza (1/2 elote mexican street corn and 1/2 bbq brisket), proving to be more than enough for two plus a more than ample amount of leftovers. Recently, I've gravitated toward thinner pizzas, a far cry from the typical Detroit (foccacia-esque) style pizzas I used to prefer, and BAR's pizza is akin to a flatbread yet very thin, another fallen angel to the GLP's. The undercarriage boasts a brilliant crust, almost cracker-like. However, it should be noted that the pizza is indulgent all the same. The elote pizza is quite possibly the most memorable, unique pizza I've ever had; it arrives almost crimson-red with a generous layer of corn and takis atop. It's still incredibly well balanced despite the hodgepodge of varied toppings. It's hard to pick a favorite between this and the bbq brisket though; while one is incredibly unique the other is simply sumptuous, nothing pedestrian about either of the two. The service is also impeccable, almost rivaling that of southern hospitality. I always thought Californians were friendly but something is in the air every time I visit New Haven. Incredible!

Happy Easter Day to everyone who celebrates Christian Faith…read more My Sister and I had reservations for dinner at one of the best restaurants in West Haven, in most people's opinions. Duffy's is an Irish American Pub/Restaurants owned by Christopher Walsh. Being a holiday, Duffy's is offering both their traditional and brunch menu options. The dining room and bar is decorated with strong oak furniture, tables and chairs. The historic backdrop is filled on the walls throughout the restaurant of baseball, football, political heroes and of course, a touch of Irish heritage and American pride. The staff immediately make you feel welcome and right at home with their warm demeanor and bright smiles. My Sister had the Brunch Wrap with a side of Home Fries (Sorry no picture) I had to Slow Cooker Pot Roast with Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli and Carrots. Washed it down with 2 Smith Wick's Irish Red Ales. Our waitress today was Kenzie.... She was attentive and polite, did a very good job, especially with it being very busy. Highly recommend visiting Duffy's for any occasion, holiday or any other reason?

Restaurant is warm, welcoming and clean. We highly recommend the sandwich and look forward to trying other menu options.

Oak Beach Bar + Grill is a restaurant and bar that opened in West Haven, Connecticut in December…read more2022. It was founded by business partners Gino Fetta, his son Luigi Fetta, along with cousin and chef Al Dinofrio and friend Mark Lynch. Both Gino and Luigi have 60+ years of combined experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. They had initially been looking for a space to open a new restaurant in Milford, but then they learned of the availability of a space along the shoreline in West Haven. The space had hosted a number of restaurants over the years, including Savin Rock Roasting Company. Gino is a lifelong butcher and had previously operated as the "meat man" behind the aforementioned restaurant. Luigi has a wealth of knowledge of mixology and a strong passion for food. The father and son completely gutted the space, gave it a nautical theme, and named their eatery after the nearby Oak Street Beach. The menu (which is always changing) features a variety of Italian-influenced entrees, seafood, tacos, sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, and various tavern appetizers. I recently visited Oak Beach Bar + Grill while I was meeting up with some work colleagues for an after-work happy hour. We were all seated in the dining room area. I really like the nautical theme and the fact that the location is a short walking distance from the local beaches and the Savin Rock boardwalk. I first started off with a plate of "Stuffed Clams" (bacon, mozzarella, bread stuffing). The staff weren't kidding when they said "stuffed". The stuffing was seasoned well and the clams were very flavorful. I follow them up with the "Fish Tacos" (oven baked Atlantic cod, pico de Gallo, shredded lettuce, avocado crema). The fish was cooked well, but the icing on the cake was the pico and the crema. I washed my delicious food down with cans of Athletic Brewing's "Run Wild" (IPA) and "Upside Dawn" (Golden Lager). If you find yourself by the West Haven shoreline and are craving a delicious lunch or dinner then head to Oak Beach Bar + Grill!
