Ed is just the greatest! He responded to my email request for a quote and that was a big deal. I called about 6 different people and no one responded and I was so frustrated then Ed emailed me back and based on our correspondence I knew I had found the right person! Ed came over and he had such a friendly personality and he did an EXCELLENT job for us. We had a ceiling fan and a chandelier switched out and he repaired a ceiling light. Ed is great. He was quick to respond to the online service request. He arrived right on time. We discussed a number of items on my todo list. He handled some "simple" plumbing items for me today and so far everything seems to be good. He also cleaned my dryer vent, which was FILTHY, so now my clothes should dry more quickly and I have reduced my fire risk! He took care of a few other little items that weren't on my list, but he noticed (back gate scraping the ground, lose door handles, etc). So I needed to have two TVs mounted asap. Ed responded very quickly saying that he would not be able to come out till two weeks later. We set an appointment and he showed up on time - and super friendly and professional right from the start. It was determined I would need a new garbage disposal and new shower faucet (my place is little old!) - all of which took time for the diagnosis and honest attempts to fix what was broken. I had used Ed several years ago and was thrilled with his work. When I needed more tasks finished, I thought I contacted his company only to find out I had accidentally contacted another Orange County company. Big mistake. They were horrible. So when I needed work done in my new home, I made sure I contacted the right company! I was thrilled with Ed's work. I had three things I wanted done and I told him that it was ok if he didn't get to the third one. Well, I didn't have to worry! He got them all done in record time and managed to teach me a few things about my home. He also was very courteous with my children and when he left they kept telling me how nice he was. I am amazed at how many items on my honey-do list that Ed was able to take care of in just a few hours. He did a great job hanging Star Wars spaceships in my son's room, hanging art and towel rods and hooks, fixing leaky shower, fixing microwave vent. We've used Ed a couple times. He's very professional ... always on time and SUPER fast. He has a two hour minimum but if he gets done early (which he most likely will because he can fix anything you need very quickly), he will give you suggestions on other things that he sees that he can fix ... i.e., energy efficient light bulbs, fire alarms, toilet handles, etc. He even sat down with me and told me exactly which light bulbs to order off the internet (and he helped me find the best deal!). I was checking Pennysaver for a local handyman. Ed had a two-hour special. I chose the ad because it gave exact info on what I expect to pay. I also needed to get the work done on the weekend. At first, Ed said he didn't work on weekends because it's family time for him. I understood that and I thought I would have to wait and take time off from work during the week or find another handyman. He re-arranged his schedule to help me out - that was great! He showed up on time which is not typical of contractors. I'd give Ed SIX stars, too if I could! I have used him twice and he's done quite a few jobs here, helping me get my house ready for sale. I remodeled a bath, he put up my towel racks, toilet paper holder, fixed under counter lighting in my kitchen. He built, painted and installed a new wooden gate out back to HOA specs, installed new lighting fixtures, installed a GFI outlet in the bath, fixed garage door sensors and the list goes on and on. He was on time both days, very friendly and hard worker. He's a $75 hour kind of guy and did many jobs for me where others would charge specifically for each job. Only drawback if there is one is that it takes about two weeks to get an appointment because he's that busy! He doesn't take phone calls, he'd be bombarded constantly and not be able to focus on job he's doing, but replies to emails promptly. He not only installed four smoke alarms in mere minutes, he took the time to look at my furnace (cleaned the filthy filter); changed out light bulbs to LED; instructed me on how to activate our home fan (via the furnace) to help with a better and healthier air flow; hung a sconce lamp; cleaned a shower head (which now has excellent flow)---the list goes on and on. The best. Period. Our bathtub still had its original caulk which needed replacing. Ed started out by putting on shoe covers to keep our floors clean. Not only did he re-caulk the bathtub, Ed also resealed around the bathroom countertop and any other potential leaks/gaps. Finishing ahead of schedule, he then asked what else needed attention. Our backyard wooden gate wouldn't open/close easily, so Ed went to work and made the gate functional again, good as new. As if that still weren't enough, he gave us great tips on our air conditioning, LED lighting, ceiling fans, and answered all our home repair questions.
