He's extremely patient, takes the time to really listen, and is thoughtful in how he responds to your needs rather than rushing the process. I came into therapy knowing I had a lot of healing to do, and Michael met me exactly where I was. His calm presence and genuine care made it easier to open up and work through things at my own pace. Each session felt intentional, supportive, and grounding. If you're looking for a therapist who truly listens, respects your journey, and supports real healing, I highly recommend Michael.

I've been to highly regarded therapists who spread out meetings for months, consuming unnecessary time and investment. His superpower is that he epitomized complete altruism with laser sharp discernment and focused attention that facilitated deep healing of emotional wounds so buried I didn't even know they existed. He also leaves the door open for further growth and healing without feeling locked into a contractual relationship. Honestly he should patent his Method for all coaches to follow! I give him the highest possible rating and encourage others to not hesitate reaching out to him.

His process is thoughtful from the start. He begins with a short survey to understand how you prefer to communicate and how you'd like him to communicate with you, then tailors his approach to fit. For couples, he starts with an individual 1:1 session with each person. In mine, he covered and uncovered more than I had in many sessions with other therapists, and when I shared with my wife what we'd worked through, she agreed we'd covered a lot in one session and was impressed. Every session, he sets a clear agenda up front, what we want to cover and what he wants to cover. He's calm, targeted, direct, and easy to talk to. He remembers what we've discussed, listens without judgment, and offers precise thought, behavior, and communication suggestions at just the right moments, when we've reached a point of realization and they have the most impact. He also always asks how our son is doing, and you can tell he genuinely wants to know. The office is calm and private, booking has been easy, and sessions always start on time. We feel like we accomplish something in every session, and we've been able to build better habits because he helps us understand ourselves. We're so glad we found him and highly recommend him.

I was in therapy to work on my fear of death as well as anxiety and depression issues. In the few months I was working with Shapiro he kept trying to bring conversations around to my sex life - even when the discussion had nothing to do with that. I called him out on it and he essentially gas lit me into believing that I wasn't trusting the therapy process and was having too strong of a reaction. I held off writing a review on him for over a year out of shame and fear. He made me feel gross and uncomfortable. I'm glad this was not in person sessions. Would not recommend him for any women. Best choice I made was parting ways with him. EDIT: I have a lot that I could say to address some of the material in Shapiro's response, but for the sake of putting this behind me, I won't. I've said my piece.
