OC Shutters did a great job w the installation of new plantation shutters in our house. Their pricing is competitive, the sales staff was professional, workmanship, quality of materials and the installation were all top notch. The only problem is that we were promised in writing 6 to 7 weeks for installation. It turned out to be 11 weeks w two install dates cancelled by OCS. Because of this they get 4 stars not 5. My partner and I were looking for new window coverings here in Santa Clarita, didn't find any that we liked or the quality wasn't the best. We had decided to keep what we had and not settle for window coverings that we weren't happy with. Jump ahead to 2 months later, we were on our way to our niece's wedding and got lost. As I found my way to the wedding I made a note of the company and thought oh they won't come all the way up here and if they did they would charge me and arm and a leg! UPDATE: The installer was only able to install 2 of the 3 shutters ordered and the kitchen covering. The last shutter didn't fit and the job is still not complete. Rich said it would be another 4 weeks. I asked for a discount because clearly the job was left unfinished and he said that Rebecca (the owner) said "no". When I texted with Rich he suggested that he could pay me to take down my one star review. On the phone he said this was also Rebecca's idea. I cannot caution you enough- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We've been very happy with our blinds and shutters installed earlier this year. Everything looks great and we've gotten lots of compliments on both. However, good luck getting a response on your emails (yes, emails as in plural) once they have your business. While waiting for the shutters to come, I sent a ton of follow up emails to ask for status and it was like pulling teeth just to get an update. Once again, I've asked about getting blinds for our kitchen and still no response. This certainly wasn't the attentiveness I was getting when first inquiring about getting work done on all our windows. read more

I wanted to post an update. After some back and forth we resolved the issue. They re ordered the trim and paid the installer to come out and re install the correct trim. He also cut the window frame. I just think it should have been done right the first time. Mistakes happen but its the way you handle them that matters. read more

We bid out our project and OC Shutters was the most competitive but it was down hill from there. The order time was longer than their competitors and we had to conitnually follow-up with them, not the other way around. Customer service was extremely poor and we had multiple contacts througout the process to add to the confusion (and all with different email domains?). The results were equally dissapointing as the initial order was wrong so we had to wait even longer. When I asked for a discount on our order because they had produced the wrong shutters, I did not even get a reply. Not only was the initial product incorrect, the initial installation was wrong as well - they did not install the blinds to close in the right direction. Eventually, once the correct shutters were ready, we had the second installation and when my wife was not happy with the installation (shutters not fush etc. etc.), the installer was not friendly in correcting the sub-par handiwork. Nothing more unpleasent than paying someone to perform a service and receiving mediocre results and bad attitude in your own home. Unfortunately, I let the competitive bid win our business and regretted the decision all the way throughout the 3-4 month process. Probably could have been soothed over with good customer service and professionalism but unfortunately it was not. read more

Their customer service is severely lacking. It is difficult to get a retuned phone call from them and I experienced measurement issues. I did finally receive a call from the owner about these issues and, unfortunately, we do not see eye to eye about the resolution since nothing was solved. read more

Buyer Beware! Last year I had window shutters installed on several windows. Rebecca, the owner, came out to the house and promised that I would like the the end product. Well, that was the last I ever heard from her. Immediately after the installation was completed my credit card was charged for the balance of the product and installation. I tried several times to contact Rebecca to have her come back out to the house and repair all of the issues that were outstanding and not installed properly. Please read all of the reviews here and take note. Rebecca will not return your call unless it involves money due to her. This is a fact! Whatever you do, don't give her your credit card number; she will run your card immediately after the installation is complete without ever asking you if there are any issues. If you try to protest the payment, she will tell you that the product was installed, end of story! When you ask for someone to return to fix the problems, don't hold your breath waiting for a return call. The only way to get your issues resolved is to sue Rebecca. She will immediately start focusing her attention on you. Rebecca called me and left me several not so nice calls. She had me so shaken that I started to worry for my family. All I wanted was to have the job completed. She finally completed the work, but it is still not 100% what should have been installed. I settled, just to get this behind me. I wanted others to know what I had experienced. Yes Rebecca, I am an actual customer, not a competitor. Why don't I put my name in the review? I'm writing a review for our experience with OC Shutters and our salesman, Dorian. We met with Dorian about 9 weeks ago to get a quote on custom plantation shutters for our entire house, 7 windows in total. Dorian was very professional and quickly calculated the measurements and quote for us. We were quite surprised by how affordable the shutters costs for production and installation. We decided to move forward and were a little discouraged when he said that it would take 8 weeks to produce (as our baby's nursery window didn't have blinds), but we knew that it was a great deal, so we couldn't pass it up. The production time took a week longer than expected, but we finally got the shutters installed yesterday and we are beyond thrilled. They look fantastic and add such value to our home, I feel way more value than the actual cost of the shutters. The product is really nice too...the wood looks great and the installation was a breeze. I would highly recommend using them if you are looking to install plantation shutters and with their affordable pricing, you can get it for the entire house without breaking the bank!! I unfortunately had the bad luck of getting a bad batch of wood on my shutters. They were all warped and OC shutters refused to replace them. They came out various times to try to fix because shutters were not closing tightly. As of this writing I have tape shut one of the shutters on my bedroom because it keeps opening. I am still waiting for them to come out and fix and this was over a year ago. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know. read more

We have used another shutter company in the past thinking that the big name meant better quality. For this house, though, we wanted to shop around and found that Orange County Shutters had prices that couldn't be beat anywhere. Our new shutters were installed in our new house yesterday and the quality is the same or better than the ones we had done in a previous house. The only difference is that this time we paid only 1/3 of what we paid before. The consultant, Rich, was great when he came out to measure - quick, efficient and knowledgeable. Our installer was on time, quick and did a really nice job - installation is perfect, cleaned everything up, showed us everything and very friendly. I had Dorian came to my condo in LB in November, the contract says 6 to 8 weeks, the shutters supposed to be installed by the first week of February. Today 23 rd and they have not contacted me like they said they would last Friday for installation this week. I am totally love the excuses that they have for me, I have many conversation with Rich about the problem and is always the same the shutters needs to be painted one more time, the sprayer is broken, we are waiting for a new sprayer, etc, etc. I guess everybody is having problems with them so I don't expect my problem to be solved anytime soon. I need to sell the property and here I am waiting for the shutters almost one month after. They also try to discount $100 for all this mess which I don't think is enough for the headaches and the phone calls. They say they will call you in 2 hours and they never do. I will not recommend this company to anybody else, and I won't use them ever again. I have an extensive experience with the leading company and we buy and sell properties and we usually install shutters in all of them. I will never use Orange County Shutters again. They are unprofessional and they breach their contract obviously not only to me but to many other clients. read more

I wrote a check on November 29, 2014, and still do not know when our shutters will be installed. I contacted this place to set up an appointment and was told someone would return my call to set up appointment. I waited two days and didn't get any phone call so I called again. The gentleman apologized and said he had my information but didn't understand why no one has called me back. He told me someone would call me back the next day and so far no call from the place. The estimate they gave me was significantly lower than all others I had gotten. Having read all reviews, I placed my order hoping and praying that I would not run into any problems. Upon my first conversation with the owner Rebecca I knew this experience was going to be great. I had called other places, had at least 3 other consultations and fitting appointments. Once I decided on what i wanted in my 2 story, 5 bedroom, 3 bath house, I went shopping. Rebecca was able to come up within 2 days, where as I was still waiting over 3 weeks for my first company after making an appt. She measured everything herself, quoted pricing including installation and time frame all on the same visit. Her pricing was very competitive, literally beating the other companies by over $1000 on the same product and installation. I was given her card which had her business and contact info on it and she even went as far as to give me her cell phone number so if I had any questions I would get them answered right away. After making the order, she was at my home within 2 weeks to install everything.
