Have contacted the owner by email and get no response, have filed with the AG office and found that another laundromat is about 1/2 the cost for washer and the dryers are cheaper and get a longer amount of time (and actually work). Never going to this one again!

I put all this in a concise, polite note that also included my contact info, yet in those 23 days there has been NO RESPONSE. I have now left a second note. And am now doing my laundry in Athol, at least till this matter gets resolved. I don't care so much about losing $1.75, but I do care about being ignored as a customer. So the laundry won't reimburse me a measly $1.75, but then loses a regular customer??? This seems to be a stupid move for a local business to make. I really hope the matter is resolved soon. As I said, it's been 23 days now! Once it's resolved I'll remove this review, as I've had no issues till now.

The first machine took 7 quarters, but only registered 6 of them, and didn't accept any more to get to the $2/load amount. It also didn't give us the money back. Grumble, grumble. THEN, the second machine took my coins with a bit of manipulation of coin insertion, it ran a cycle, and after 40 minutes on "normal" the clothes were just as wet as they went in, and not warm/hot at all. I should have changed machines again, but instead I ran other cycle on heavy/high for ANOTHER 40 minutes. At the end, the clothes were just a bit warm and only slightly less damp. We bagged up our damp clothes that had been in a machine for 80 minutes, $5.75 poorer in regards to the drying attempts, went back to our place, found a drying rack and hung everything up for two days (high humidity right now) 'til dry. A royal pain. I'm assuming they're not cleaning their dryer venting at all. Home dryer vents should be cleaned out once a year ideally, so I assume a laundry business should clean theirs a lot more often. I suspect it's not happening. Also, they need to replace their coin mechanisms on the driers. I feel we were taken advantage of re. our loss of money and loss of time. There was no employee on site to help. The place could also use some cleaning, but it wasn't trashed. Just scruffy, tape all over windows from past fliers, etc.

The staff person was extremely helpful and patient with me. He helped me with the machines because it had been a while since I've been to a laundromat. The interior was overall incredibly clean. They have a TV area with seating and a separate lounge area with seating and snacks. As expected, some machines were out of service, but I estimate 80% were fully functional. Sign on door says "Closed for Maintenance" but there's no evidence of anyone working on anything. The mail box by the front door is stuffed full of mail and the place is looking abandoned. The last time the card machine was working I put a lot of money on two Sudzway cards. I'm going to try and get my money back so I can go to another laundromat with better regular maintenance. I have to use tons of fabric softener sheets in the dryer in order to mask the smell. The dryers are not consistent with times. You can put a quarter in one dryer and get 5 minutes, but the dryer next to it will give you only four minutes, even though it's the same exact dryer. A few times, there's been people in there who have been a little disruptive, and I'm seeing more people either without homes or with substance issues/criminal in there hanging out and using the free Wi-Fi. One person openly talked on his cell phone trying to get someone to pick him up and saying he just got out of jail, and he had nowhere to go so he was hanging there until he figured something out. Really uncomfortable. Been going here for a really long time, but things have definitely gone downhill over the last couple of years.

Things of note: -The owner is in here most days cleaning and checking on things, so the property and machines are well taken care of. -The owner has his phone number printed on a pink card on every machine and lives nearby so he is available to expeditiously fix any issues that may come up. -Only on one occasion did I have an issue with a machine (it didn't drain the water from my clothes so when I opened the machine, they were all sopping wet still). I remedied this by just tossing my clothes in another washer and giving them another cleaning. I never experienced this issue again and have been there countless times since. -The machines only take coin (quarters) but there's a coin machine inside so bring your cash! -Plentiful seating, laundry baskets to transport clothes from washer to dryer, and folding tables. -The laundromat is reliant upon one ceiling fan to cool down the space so during the summer, it can get pretty hot. If you plan to stay while your load washes and dries, plan to bring a book and a cold drink then go sit outside on the steps outside to enjoy the breeze. Nice, helpful owner, clean space, well working machines... all in all, a good place to do your laundry! ($3.25/wash; $0.25/5min on the dryers)
