Came to visit for a cleaning and check up. I was late on cleaning due to covid. Although the doctor's recommendations were not completely off, but they just recommended doing some optional services that I might not need at the moment. The recommendations I got after my insurance would cost like 4000 dollars and they recommended me to have 6-7 crowns, which I kind of feeling a little too much. Also, I know the fact that my insurance covers cleaning twice a year. When I checked out, they asked for 33 dollars out of pocket, which I didn't quite understand even after they explained. I asked for an itemized receipt as well to check what the due is for. And of course I still could not figure out. But I didn't want to make a scene there since it's just 33 dollars. But I don't remember I ever have to pay anything out of pocket for a basic cleaning (33 is also an odd amount for a co-pay). I asked for my x ray to get a second opinion from others. They did end up sending it to me, but the girl asked if I am going to a different doctor. To be honest, it's my x ray and I have right to obtain it for my reference and she should not ask about it... read more

Just like any other person, I have the worst anxiety going to the dentist. A big part of that is bad past experiences. I started having pain on one of my tooths and I needed to find a dentist immediately. I came across Orange Park Smile Studio and let me tell you I did my research. Come to find out I needed a root canel which honestly made me freak out even more. The entire experience from beginning with this office was amazing! I have never never had such a great experience. I was charged $800+ out of pocket for the work I rec'd and when I went back for a recheck she said the treatment hadn't worked and now suggested an additional $2700 worth of treatment. I was shocked and left strait away. I filed a grievance complaint with my insurance company and was told after their investigation that she charged me for procedures that were all covered by insurance. She was made to refund me almost to the penny. I went to a very reputable dentist after I left that office and was told the job she did on scaling and planing was dismal. I had to have it redone. I've gone to Dr Licauco's office for an emergency several years ago; I had a tooth crack when I accidentally bit on the beef bbq spare rib's bone. She recommended a couple of alternatives on how she could fix my cracked tooth and I chose to have a bridge made. It was years ago since she's done my bridge and I've been to her office regularly for various dental services, such as braces, cleaning, cavity filling, crown, etc. Dr Licauco and her staff are wonderful. Although the doctor is nice, I had MANY issues with this practice. When a tooth was being polished after a cavity filling, the tech looked away briefly with the instrument in my mouth and is cut the underside of my tongue open and it was minimized as if it wasn't a big deal. In a separate filling I though everything went well but was experiencing pain longer than normal. I reached out and shared concerns and although the dentist responded timely and compassionately, it wasn't recommended that I return for two weeks. What wasn't understood was that during the filling, the drilling went too low and hit nerve which is why I felt pain for two weeks. After the filling was removed, it was blatantly clear that my root was infected and inflamed and I required a root canal (outsourced). Orange Park Smile Studio did my permanent crown after the root canal. When discussing permanent crowns the office used scare tactics to try and get me to approve a crown that my insurance didn't cover and was going to cost over a thousand dollars. The margins were SO POOR on the permanent crown that over 4 years bacteria leaked into the underside of the crown, pooled and negatively impacted the tooth next to it. Over the 4 years I continued to feel discomfort and some aches. Flash to the present, after some testing and investigative work on the part of a new dentist and Endodontist, I had to not only have repair done on the shoddy work completed by Orange Smile but I had to have additional work done on the tooth next to it. If you value your teeth, only go to Orange Smile for cleanings or minor cavities. I'm paying the price emotionally, physically and financially for this terrible work that was done just a few years ago. read more

I have known Dr Licauco for many years as my dentist and she is AMAZING!! To say the least I have had great and exceptional experience. The staff is so very helpful and caring. From the moment I walked in the office I was greeted with a smile and great attention. Dr listens always to my dental concern and puts me at ease. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST! I've always been diligent in seeing my dentist (every 6 months) and have not had any issues recently. I had to visit Dr. Licauco due to insurance changes and am so bummed I did. The office manager was not polite or helpful in scheduling my first apt, when I had my exam I thought everything was great (the dental assistant was awesome!)...then the doctor told me about ALL the problems that needed to be fixed so that my teeth "wouldn't fall out". She said the crown I have had for 6 years needed replacing and that my old dentist damaged the tooth next to it too (yet I have never had any discomfort nor had this been noticed by two other dentists) and that I had two cavities that did not show up on X rays b/c they were "too small". I also needed gum surgery to fix a receding gum line. She also told me a I needed to start wearing a retainer again or my teeth would go back to being crooked like before I had braces. I was also asked to pay a deductible for my first visit when I knew it was covered 100%. I asked how much it would be for all her recommendations and they sent me a file saying it would be about 5k. When i asked questions i was told i would need to make an appointment to come in and sign the work plan (even though i was just in the office). After reviewing the file they did not note how much my insurance would be covering and they added in whitening treatments after I told them I was not interested. Everything about this place screamed scam! Try another dentist. read more

Hello All, Last night I experienced sharp pain from a dental bridge completed by my previous dentist that kept me up all night. after taking 3 Advil pills I was finally able to get 2 hours sleep. I phoned Dr. Licauco's Office and they were able to get me a same day appointment. Upon arrival the paperwork was minimal and the staff were pleasant and professional. My X-rays were completed by a state of the art stars wars type machine that turns around your head as you stand. Dr. Licauco was extremely knowledgable , gentle, and caring I wish I'd come to her first instead of getting the shabby work that was performed by my previous dentist. My children have also been to Dr. Licauco and they too had a phenomenal pain free experience. If you're any where within a 30 minute drive and in need of dental care, I suggest you give them a call. read more

Dr. L has been my dentist for well over a decade. She has, from the very beginning impressed me as a person who really cares about people. Greeting me always with a warm smile and and an upbeat attitude. I have come to see her as a person committed to her profession, the business community, her family and friends. The office has a staff that is warm and friendly, like herself. It's easy to see that there's this "family like" attitude in a business environment, where it's apparent that they all enjoy the role they take in putting the patient first. The office is inviting which helps relax the fears of sitting in the waiting room, anticipating a drill in your mouth. In conversations with Dr. L, she has told me about her many trips to other countries to donate her skills and time to people in need where conditions for dental care is far worst than we have here in the US. Went into this office for the first time for xrays and a cleaning . The dentist let me know i had a few cavities i needed to take care of. I let her know i wanted to take care of them because my insurance was soon to run out due to my spouse quitting her job. They let me know it would be taken care of today. We called my spouse since she s the primary for my insurance and went over costs. The dentist ended up having time to do it right then. We took care of it . The next week i received something on my credit that the dentist had applied for care credit and i owed them over 1100 dollars. Upon calling them and letting them know i didn't apply for anything they stated i did and that i didn't have cavities . The doctor stated they were cosmetic . I let them know they told me they were cavities that needed to be filled and covered by insurance . Since they were cosmetic they billed me out of pocket over 1k dollars and scheduled an out of pocket 500 dollar teeth whitening appt . I Called them to complain letting them know i didn't consent to any of this and the procedure done was supposed to be covered by insurance since the dentist stated it was a cavity . They did nothing to fix the situation and now i owe 1100 dollars and have a hard inquiry with care credit impacting my credit and credit scores. Seems Ike this dentist is key hungry. Not only did they want me to get braces for one slightly tooth that sticks out but a teeth whitening and my spouse gum grafting whitening fixing a small chip . I went in the Orange Smile Studio while I was really uncomfortable and in pain, Dr. Licauco and her staff did some procedures and it felt like magic. Their technology is just state of the art, the xrays were real fast and easy. I needed a root canal and it was done in such an amazing pain free and gentle way and it just goes better after that. I was immediately relieved, pain and pressure was gone. I also must say Dr. Licauco is very knowledgable and confident and she will give you the info you want and need, a couple of options you can choose from to be done to you. She is also really gentle (I have really low pain tolerance and it wasn't even an issue). So happy with my experience and i'm pretty sure most of their patients really come out the clinic with a big smile! They say they really have that effect on people! I have two insurances, which did not seem to cover much here. But my real complaint is that I had a $1,050 crown put on that came off 5 months later. I travel a lot and had to get it put back on during a weekend I was home. They were unavailable, so I went to another dentist. She tried getting it on but said the fitting was so bad that it likely would only stay a few months again, since it was relying not on a good fit but a lot of glue to hold it in place. I checked with my primary insurance and they said they cover a re-gluing only after 12 months and another crown after 12 months. We agreed on $700 cash for a new crown, put on in Feb 2013. So OPSS wants me to pay a small bill I still owe them, but wants to accept no responsibility for the added cost of their poor work. I cannot recommend this dentist. read more

Dr. Licauco is a caring, knowledgeable dentist and I can't say enough about her office. I have had ONE dentist in California for 25 years and finally had to find a new one. Not sure why I waited so long! She is thorough in explaining everything...so did you know that porcelain and metal crowns do not cause sensitivity as the all porcelains ones do? Most of the time I hate going to the dentist, but going to Orange Park Smile Studio was a very pleasant experience. The staff is soooo nice and Cecile was very gentle when working with my teeth. The best part was that I never had to wait around for her to work on other patients like you do at most other dentists. Wow...I started going to Dr Cecile Licauco a couple of years ago. I have had a LOT of work done and she and her staff are amazing! I had gum work done which is very sensitive and normally quite painful, but I didn't feel anything while she was working on me and the soreness was minimal later on. I have always been afraid of the dentist and getting shots keep me away!!! But Dr Licauco is very gentle and I no longer mind getting shots. I even got lots of shots in the front of my mouth where I was VERY afraid of, and it was NO BIG DEAL! No pain! I highly recommend this office and Doctor. Great care and work. In May, 2016 I went to Dr. Licauco for dental work. While everyone in this office is extremely accommodating, nice and sweet, I am extremely disappointed with the doctor's services, failed follow ups and end results. During the initial appointment, Dr. Licauco talked about all the things that were needing to be done. But when the actual appointment took place, she said she couldn't do what she said she would do, and therefore had to refer me to another doctor. Well, that was in late May. June came, went back for another appointment, spoke to Chantel about the referral, said it would take two weeks. My husband went in last week and mention this to Chantel - and now today 7/27/2016 - NOTHING! On top of that, with the work that Dr. Licauco did, my teeth has never been the same. I am now extremely sensitive to hot, cold and room temperature foods and my bite is not the same and is very sensitive to chew. On top of that, according to my benefits plan, she overcharged me and billed the insurance who also paid her. This is fact, because my insurance contacted me. My husband is also experiencing the exact same problems with his teeth - but this review is about me. This is not cool - I have never had this problem until she worked on my teeth. In my personal opinion, I strongly feel that Dr. Licauco does not like to or don't know how to work on complicated issues. She talks the talk but don't do the walk. Not following with the customer is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional - and believe me, I did my part. After the way she left me to deal with this uncomfortably feeling - my next venture is to now file a formal complaint and see to it that my experience is noted in social media! I am writing this review to express how I felt about my experience at this office. I have to say the only nice this I can say is how great Chantal is. This doesn't reflect on her at all she works the front desk and is nice as you can hope for. My complaint is for the Dr. Licauco. She cancelled my appointment 3 times. Frist time was an insurance issue which was understandable I accepted that and waited until that was straightened out. I then scheduled a second appt. 15 min before my appt. I got a call from Chantel there was an emergency and the dr. couldn't work on me cause there was a death close to her. I was frustrated because I was in so much pain but I understood and reschedules again. The past time I was on my way again about 2 min away and I get a call again now the doctor had the flu. It became very apparent that she didn't not want to work on me. All these weeks of rescheduling she kept telling me to take pain medication she has prescribed. I was taking it every 6 hours per her recommendation and I was starting to get sick from taking so much medicine I had to stop taking it. I then decided to call my insurance and be transferred immediately. I was and its was all taken care of in a matter of 2 days. I am thankful to my New Dentist. I also had to pay this dentist for services and nothing was done was a waste of my money and time. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. read more
