We also got the  Green Omega juice, which was good as well, filled with a tasty combination of ingredients, but served at room temperature, so it wasn't as pleasant on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Service was a bit slow even with just 1-2 customers inside. And there were a few indoor and outdoor tables/seats, but it was warm and musty inside, so outside was definitely more comfortable. This is a gem of a spot. It's a small neighborhood cafe that serves up a big delicious menu. There was only 1 person there who took the order and made the food. They are in the old strip mall with Dick's Bakery at the corner of Hamilton Ave. They have tortas, tamales, sweet crepes, and ice cream. (I asked, but the server did not know what brand it was.) I wanted a sweet smoothie or something like that, so I got the namesake, an Orange Sunrise Smoothie, made with Orange Juice, vanilla ice cream and cinnamon. Unfortunately, it was not what I had in mind. It tasted mostly of ice cream with a hint of orange--I thought it was pretty bland. I wanted something more like an Orange Julius: less ice cream, more OJ, and a bit of orange liqueur would have been welcome. I ordered a Guanabana Smoothie for my husband, something we had never tried. This one had a much stronger taste; I found it to be a bit tart, though sweet. I did not love the flavor. My husband liked it better than I did. He drank most of my Orange Sunrise and finished the guanabana one later. So, the 4 stars are from him and not from me! But the service was friendly, and I would be willing to return to try something else--maybe a sweet crepe. read more

I'm so glad a second location has opened up in San Jose! This is my go to spot for freshly made smoothies and juices. In the past I've ordered their vampiro juice and green juice. On this recent visit, I ordered the passion tropical smoothie, freshly made with pineapple, orange and mango. All of their juices and smoothies are 100% natural so if you're not use to pure juicing or natural smoothies, order a small on your first visit to "taste test" and find what you like. There's some seating inside and they have quite an array of drink and food options. With my smoothie, I ordered an empanada. Great taste and texture, but a little too much dough for my liking. While there in line, there were orders for tamales and other food items while I was waiting so next time I drop-in, I'll definitely give other food items a try! read more

Felt like eating some sandwiches in the middle of the day but I didn't want to spend too much so I found this little place on Yelp. The aesthetic was kinda funny, seems like one of those stores where the people live in the back, but that usually means the food is authentic, so I have no problems. On the outside, the store does not look like much. Upon entering, however, you see a large menu of all the products offered at this establishment. We came here as an alternative. My lady and I needed something fresh to drink, and other places offered mixes of juices and lots of sugar with their drinks. The gentleman working that day was not only patient, but he was knowledgeable about the menu, and worked quickly to complete our order. We appreciated that he spoke English and Spanish (my lady speaks Spanish), and we appreciated that the order was fresh, tasty, and made with all natural ingredients. We could see from where we were standing that everything the worker used was fresh! I was impressed and quite frankly, surprised. We enjoyed our order, and even ordered an extra drink for my brother who also complimented on the taste. Now that I know that this place is where it is, I will go here. The challenges I had was how overwhelming the menu was - it is offered in Spanish and English for your convenience. It is also plastered on the wall, but there was so much information that it would take you some time to make up your mind. I would suggest taking a look at the menu before going in, and ordering that way. The parking is also weird and awkward but that isn't their fault, obviously.
