*3.5/5 Star Rating* Came here because people online said it was dupe for erewhon smoothies. I wouldn't say it's a dupe, but it is significantly cheaper than erewhon ($11.50~). Personally, I thought the smoothies were alright for the price point. I got the Maui, but I mainly tasted yogurt and the strawberry was super sour. My boyfriend enjoyed the Blue Mermaid, which was more of an earthy, tropical pineapple flavor. Other than that, I wasn't wowed and would rather go somewhere else with more superfood smoothie options. I wished they had more selections since I wasn't a fan of my drink.

I came here after seeing so many people post about it on social media and hype it up. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected since I came in with pretty high expectations. My main issue was the texture of the smoothie. It was super thick..so thick that it was actually difficult to drink through a straw. I did like the chocolate chips in the mint smoothie, and you can definitely taste the spinach flavor. Also, it took a while for our smoothie to come out. I'd still like to come back one day to try their Maui or Blue Mermaid smoothie, since I heard that it's one of their more popular drinks.

We went on a weekday night and we were the only ones in the store, there was only one employee working so it took about 20 minutes for everything to be ready. The wait was understandable. Just wished there was more than one person working. All three drinks were amazing. I added spirulina to mine to give it that trendy blue color (and for all the vitamins). I would def come back as it was absolutely worth the wait.

Disappointed because I saw a lot of Tik toks from others saying this place was good. I am a fan of healthy smoothies but the ones my friend and I got didn't taste good or was up to par. We pre-ordered two smoothies on DoorDash on our way there to pick up. * Maui: This smoothie is pretty but way too sour. There's pineapple juice in it but it's like they added way too much where it's drowning out the other fruits and flavors. * Women's Best: This had a very bitter taste to it and I am not sure from what but it wasn't pleasant. Also it was so frozen that it was so hard to suck up from the straw. At that point I would need a spoon to eat it like ice cream. It was really thick and heavy that the lid would easily pop off. Despite the mediocre tasting smoothies the inside is very cute! It would be a nice cafe to study at. My friends and I were the only ones there on a Saturday afternoon. It seemed only one person was working. Overall would not come here again sadly.

Came here around 1:30pm on a warm day. Parking is very limited. The inside is spacious with plenty seating and aesthetic corners, mini thrifting corner by the window, crystal vendor on the shelves. Staff is also nice and informative. Menu: - Golden Gate: cold pressed juice, off menu at the moment, very refreshing and healthy. Can definitely taste the mint and green apple. SAVE THE REUSABLE BOTTLE; you get $1 off if you return the bottle, refillable - Golden Coast Smoothie: tastes like peach yogurt, includes collagen - Blue Mermaid Smoothie: good that you can't taste the spiralina (what makes it blue), berry, refreshing - Pataya Bowl: not overly sweet, refreshing, naturally sweet from the honey and bee pollen, fruits were not sour at all

Salum is a great place for delicious and healthy juices, smoothies, and açaí bowl. The Golden Gate juice was very refreshing, I would definitely drink it as a palette cleanser or by itself if I need to hydrate. The Golden Coast Smoothie and Blue Mermaid Smoothie were both very good and I can tell they use all-natural ingredients. I also really like how the Pataya Bowl is not too sweet since my pet peeve about açaí bowl is being too sweet, but they nailed it. Interiors is minimalist but nicely decorated, and staff was friendly and helpful at recommending which drinks and açaí bowls to try

I really had high hopes. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was super hot so it was perfect timing to get something cold. Parking is very limited in front. It took awhile to order and I liked that they were very accommodating since I have a few allergies. I was debating between the blue mermaid and the golden coast. I ended up getting the blue mermaid. I removed the soy milk and replaced the bananas with strawberries instead. I really wanted to like it... I liked how sour it was when I first had a sip then the after taste was too much for me. It was very salty? Even through out the day I felt like the taste was still there :/ I couldn't finish my drink and threw it away. My friend got the acai bowl and it was just okay.

Decided to try this place after seeing it on many social media platforms. Came in and waited for a good amount of time until someone said they'd be with us. Only 2 workers. Waited and then was told they were out of some produce, like bananas. Ordered the blue mermaid and it was good but I think it needed the bananas because just tasted like pineapple and sour. Also got the golden coast which was good. Also got the pb energy bites and it was okay as well pretty oily but probably due to the coconut I'm guessing they used not sure. Customer service pretty lacking here since the lady making the drinks just casually said your drink is ready while we were waiting. Parking is very limited. Would come again maybe later down the line

The prices are quite pricey but it makes sense I forgot what smoothie I got but no complaints it's was good. And that green juice was amazing.

Located near (but not in) the Pruneyard shopping area. This is great because you do not have to search for parking in the Pruneyard parking lot! I ordered the Blue Mermaid. The pricing is reasonable (about $12 before tip) considering many are comparing it to the likes of Erewhon which has their smoothies priced closer to $22! The blue mermaid is a blend of coconut water, soy milk, pineapple juice, pineapple, mango, banana, and organic spirulina. It is very pineapple forward. The banana and soy milk add a nice creaminess. Overall a very tropical treat for the warm days ahead! If you're going for the Erewhon aesthetic, I would ask if they could add coconut whipped cream to the cup (if they allow for that!)

    Trini S.

Definitely not overly sweet, but did enjoy and would go back! You can feel good about the good stuff you're putting in when you go here and enjoy your little sweet treat.

Went after a work out and it was a nice little pick me up post exercise! We even asked for suggestions and the worker was so nice to help. Solid smoothie and solid place to chill :)

The smoothies are good I got the golden coast and chocolate dream The only negative thing I got to say is this place is overstimulating and awkward. It did take 42 minutes from walk in to walk out. So what is awkward about this place is that their calling out drink names and people tend to get a lot of the same since this menu isn't big Creating confusion between the customer and staff since they don't say with confidence this is your order. Sometimes they say numbers which I believe this would be the best way to handle giving out the orders. There was a time when 3 drinks came out and it created an awkward silence because 2 were the same. May give this place a try again after they figure out the kinks

A simple sandwich order at 9:20 is not ready until 9:45. Lesson learned, come at opening time and order all at once. Cortado & latte, 5/5. Hot, smooth, strong. Orchid acai bowl ($14, sub in mango for mulberry, add coconut dust): 5/5. so good. Palmetto superfoods is my go-to in the SJ area for acai bowls, this was better despite not as many topping options. Their bases are smoother and creamier, no ice crystals here. Also liked that the fruit was chopped smaller. BAE sandwich ($12): 4/5. good, but definitely not worth a 25 min wait. Textures, freshness were great, but it was missing salt/pepper & spices. The sauce helped, but still underwhelming given how good it looks. Recommend having salt & pepper packets & a bottle of hot sauce available to customers. Cinnamon roll ($5.75): as a cinnamon roll, 3/5. As a morning bun type thing, 4.5/5. This is a case of mistaken identity. It's got a slight crunch, light sweetness, fluffy (not dense). When I order a cinnamon roll, I'm more expecting decadent dessert-for-breakfast laden with sugar & butter, yknow? Loved their dining area, loved how beautifully presented all items were, loved how everything was served at optimal temperature (hot espresso, thoroughly warmed pastry, etc), loved the variety of menu items (I can get an acai bowl and bf can get a sandwich or pastry). Will definitely return at 9 am sharp on weekends, and not order anything after about 9:10!

We're talking ube coffee, avocado coffee, banana condensed milk coffee, plus a whole lineup of matcha drinks. Definitely more creative than your typical neighborhood coffee shop! I went with the ube coffee with almond milk. The ube base was a little too sweet for my taste, but once everything was mixed together, the overall sweetness actually balanced out pretty nicely. The espresso also packs a punch -- you get 2 shots with your coffee order, so no complaints there. ‍ The ambience is definitely a highlight. The space is super cute and spacious, and they even have this mini staircase seating area that would be perfect for hanging out with friends. It also has plenty of room for a work-from-café situation The only downside was the service, which felt a bit slow for my liking. That said, they did give customers a heads-up that half of their espresso machine was under maintenance, so I'll give them some grace on that one! Overall: 3.5/5 Giving them an extra +0.5 just for the ambience because the space is genuinely adorable. I'd definitely come back to try their pastries and açaí bowl next time!

It was pretty good. Ambience is really nice and my daughter even agreed it's one of the nicer settings. However, getting seating is very challenging and parking, I'll be honest, is a nightmare. They don't let you park in most of the residence areas either. I'm sorry, but what exactly are we tracking here, the coffee market? I understand market price at a seafood restaurant when you are ordering fresh fish, but for a single shot of espresso, that was a first for me. I ended up paying $5.50 for one single shot of espresso, and the latte was also $5.50. On top of that, I waited about 14 minutes for the espresso and latte. For two coffee drinks, that felt like a long wait. The croissants and some of the other pastries also did not look as fresh as I expected. The atmosphere is great, the presentation is impressive, and the concept is definitely cool. The egg sandwich, on the other hand, was delightful although it was on the pricier side. The coffee shop was packed with folks working so we didn't find any seating indoors. Parking on the weekday was manageable but I can see it being a pain on the weekends. All in all, I want to give this spot a second chance but the coffee didn't do it for me.

They make beautiful drinks that taste as good as they look. I'm usually an espresso-shot kind of person, but I decided to step outside my usual box and try the Voodoo. OMG. It was so good that I seriously considered going back for another one. The Voodoo has espresso, chocolate, coconut, and sweet milk--and the combination is ridiculously good. The shop is called Barefoot, and they definitely put their whole foot in this drink!

When my turn came up the barista was short tempered with me for not knowing what sizes the drink came in promptly when those options weren't displayed anywhere on the menu or table (note: what's shown on their menu is price for 8 oz hot and 16 oz iced, but not what the sizes are for hot). Then as she was making the drink, she had mine sitting at the counter for a good few minutes without calling my name because she was busy chatting it up with a customer, handing him a note, talking about travel plans, etc. When I asked where my drink was and that I had been waiting for a while the other barista proceeded to say that they've just been busy. No, barista making my drink was just not serving each customer kindly and equally. I've come here for years and have had good experiences, but based on my last visit, I'd come back for the quality coffee but not with a high expectation for the service and if I had a lot of time between grabbing coffee and the next thing - I was here for over 20 mins before I got my drink

The atmosphere was really nice, and the waiting area had comfortable seating and great decor. We got the birria bowl, a burger, and matcha to go. The birria bowl was delicious, with great toppings and a spicy sauce that had a nice touch of sweetness. The rice was soft and fluffy, and the burger was juicy and perfectly seasoned. Even the to-go packaging was really unique. Overall, great food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite restaurant experiences in the San Jose area!

They have a bunch of different coffees and matcha drinks, and lots of breakfast options! You order at the counter once the hostess finds you a table and then the cashier gives you a table number for you to put at your table. I think this makes everything go faster since they just have to bring your food to your table. The breakfast sandwiches were really good and loaded with lots of ingredients and very flavorful! The lattes were good , but the cherry matcha latte was very good!! You could taste the hint of cherry in it! They have a lot of seasonal drinks that are on the menu in front of the register as well! Clearly, this place is very popular, seeing as the line never died down the whole time we were there!

I thought it would be hard to search Mexican restaurants one by one to pick out the ones that serve empanadas; I was wrong. One easy search and BAE pops up. I was very happy to arrive at a private parking lot instead of looking for street parking or desperately searching for a parking structure. BAE is clean, organized, and neat; the interior is more like a cafe than a messy mom-and-pop restaurant. The empanadas are clearly displayed on the cashier's side, each with a label underneath. There are corners decorated for selfies or simply a good mood cheering. Overall, it's visually appealing. We ordered the Chicken and Mushroom, Potato Egg and Cheese, and Bacon Egg and Cheese. The cashier was polite and offered us some sauce choices. They are $0.5 each. We chose Tsatziki which has Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil and dill. It wasn't our cup of tea. We chose take out and each empanada was nicely warmed, wrapped and clearly labeled in each paper. The empanadas I would rate them in this order: potato egg and cheese, chicken mushroom, bacon egg and cheese. The Potato Egg and Cheese has diced onions inside, but it's soft and warm, very balanced in flavor and texture. Top notch comfort food. The Chicken and Mushroom filling was creamier than I thought. I was not expecting a white cream cheese element in it, nevertheless, chunky chicken and mushroom slices are solid. I was most disappointed at Bacon Egg and Cheese. It was too salty and the egg looked and tasted like those overcooked dry breakfast eggs from Comfort Inn breakfast where it came out from some kind of liquid egg box. In summary, location, service, interior 4 star; food 3.5 stars.
