For example at least 3 or more of the cardio machine TVs has issues or doesn't work, or cuts off while using the machine. WiFI is poor at best so you can't really use your phone to watch anything during a long workout. The water fountains dispense water but one has been missing its side for months and neither one has ever dispensed cold water. Not all the cardio machines are 100% and some make noticeable noise during operation. Lastly it is usually way too hot for a place that you would do cardio. If you are a gym rat and nothing matters but free weights then I suppose this would be the place for you, but compared to a Planet Fitness or YMCA, for the money it is sorely lacking. If a Planet Fitness opened up nearby it would probably suck a lot of this gym's membership away. Both alternatives are less expensive and offer a lot more in the way of equipment, facilities and upkeep. Again- the staff is nice but I wonder why more isn't done to address facility issues.

2/3 of this is absolutely a meathead gym... and I love it! Get in, get some, get out! The weight…read moreroom portion of this place is usually occupied with military, vets, and hard working people. If that's not your crowd, there's an incredibly large cardio room on the other side of the gym, that hosts plenty of classes. There are also plenty of bikes, treadmills, etc around the windows that cover nearly all exterior walls, that's a lot of surface area. This is the largest AF I've ever seen. I've been to about 15-20 from the best coast to the east coast , and many states between. The staff is great! I've been coming here since I moved here in 2022. The water from the fountain smells like it's burnt... Yes. You read that correctly. However, modern science has recently developed this thing called a filtration system, and due to further recent developments, you can now install these at home. Or better yet, what I do is bring this thing called a "Wah-tur Bot-ul". If you're serious about your health, I recommend getting both and bringing them with you everywhere you travel, not just the gym! Bottom line, compared to most AF, this place is not only the largest, it has the biggest mix of amenities (including multiple showers and shower rooms with lockers, for both male and females), it has a huge cardio room, and a small ab room, on top of the ab machines you find in the weight floor. Is it the cleanest place? Maybe not, there's always something you could pick apart. But the staff is kind, respectful, and helpful. The place is huge (for an AF), and there are plenty of weights and racks/benches/dumbells, etc. Look, if I wasn't a small business owner myself, I'd tell you all to not come here, because why would I want to share weights and space with you all . But to be honest, and not harm a fellow SBO, the truth is that it's a great place! Can be pretty crowded before 5am (mon-fri), and yet people still figure it out. If you're looking for juice bars and social clubs, this ain't it! If you want to get your heavy weight workout on and do... whatever it is that cardio people do, and have plenty of room and amenities to choose from, this place has that. And other people are nice when you get to know them, except, maybe the old guys. Enjoy!

1 - men's locker room- I've seen dumpsters cleaner. Trash overflowing, paper towel dispensers don't…read morework half the time, and the shower floor is disgusting. What I don't understand is that other Y's I visit have professional cleaning companies in their facilities more than once a day. Here, I've seen the staff clean (obviously not very well). Membership rates are similar, so not sure why this place doesn't utilize a service. 2 - weird policies: no TRXs anywhere. Every Y I go to has them readily available; they're even in most hotel gyms these days. Same with the large exercise balls. Supposedly some idiot had one collapse on him when he was trying to lift weights on it a few years ago, and sued. Seems like a weak reason to get rid of something that is standard equipment in every other Y and gym in the country. 3 - staff is focused on rules and not customers. They enforce a policy for visitors utilizing the nationwide program that specifies the visitor can on ly work out there for 2 weeks. This isn't followed anywhere else, anytime. In fact, some Y's I visit have a separate key fob reader for visitors. No questions, no hassle, come right in. Not this place. Would seriously advise someone to look at other options before coming here. If nothing else, might save you from contracting something you don't want off the locker room floor.
