We walked up to the bar downstairs. There overall wasn't a lot of people. The bar seats were full, but it's not like there was a lot of people that needed drinks. We asked for red sangria, and the bar tender told us to try the bar upstairs because she would have to make it and "it would be a little bit" before she could make the drinks. We tried upstairs and they didn't have it either. We came back down and told her they didn't have it either, she told us she would make it for us. She made her version of sangria. Which wasn't too bad. But we seemed to be an inconvenience overall. I don't really have a desire to return to this bar. read more

Duck Pinz is a blast! My family and I (three folks total for this visit) had a wonderful time here on a Friday afternoon. It's a cute location in a cute area; it had such a fun, authentic vibe outside and in. We came in and wanted to get straight to bowling, and the staff member who set us up was helpful and friendly. The alley area is pretty small, as it's only four lanes. But while I'm sure that could be a disappointment on a crowded night, we found the small size to be conducive to chatting with each other as we played. It's definitely different from standard bowling: you don't wear bowling shoes, the pins are attached to strings that pull them up (as opposed to freestanding pins at a standard alley), and you use smaller, hole-free balls. You also get three throws per frame as opposed to two. I'm not good at bowling, and I'm -- so far -- not good at the duck pin variant. But I didn't find it frustrating, just fun to learn and play! I managed no strikes and a whopping one spare, although I did find the advice posted on the walls helped me get a bit better. I think there is a type of person (someone who takes bowling seriously, or maybe too seriously) who wouldn't enjoy this, but it's really entertaining if you can go in with a good mindset. And not having to find shoes or bowling balls that fit is a huge plus. As far as timing, it took us about an hour and 15 minutes to play two full games; we didn't rush, but we didn't daddle, either. They charge by the hour or half hour, and we paid for our first hour then added a half hour to finish out a second game. A couple who came in about halfway through our visit managed to just squeeze in 10 frames in 30 minutes. We didn't explore the (intriguing) upstairs area, but I did get a fabulous drink -- the Saturn -- at the bar. While I felt like the bowling was a little pricey (not unreasonably priced, to be clear, just something I couldn't afford quite as often), I was surprised at the great value of the drink. Plus, it was delicious -- super well-balanced -- and the bartender was lovely. Even outside of the bowling fun, I could see this being a regular hangout for me if I lived in the area. But even though it's more than an hour from home for me, I'll absolutely take family and friends up to visit when I can. It's an awesome place to have in the region. read more

How much fun is it to go to a regular bar that has a small bowling isles in it!! We went in and rented a lane for 1\2 an hour for $25. No shoe rental required. Imagine skee ball with out the hump and pins instead of holes. Great beer including non-alcoholic, and some mixed drinks as well. Bartenders were super helpful. We had a great time! read more

Definitely unique, fun and cool. A great little place to check out whenever you are in the Amelia Island area. We stopped by Duck Pinz while walking around the city the night before a big Roadie ride event. And we were so glad we did just that. It is like Bowling with a small flare of Skee Ball and what you get is Duck Pinz. It like bowling but the lane is shorter. The bowling ball you use are way smaller, comparatively the size of 2 Skee balls doesn't have finger holes. Best part is, there are 4 bowling lanes and you do not have to wear any bowling shoes. We were walking around Fernedina after dinner looking for something to do, didnt just want to hit a bar and we stumbled on this place! Duck pin bowling!?! What is this, mini bowling, so cool! It looked nice and brand new, with 4 lanes you put your name on the list and then head to the bar to get a drink, the pin killer was tasty, a fun twist on a pain killer. Bartender was great! We waited about 15 minutes and our lane was ready, you can buy either 30 min or 1 hour ( maybe $20 for 30 min!?) not sure I remember the price. Lots of fun but expensive. They charge by time as opposed to by the game for duck pin bowling. This left us scrambling to get our game completed before time ran out. The screen kept warning us of how many minutes remained, making the experience more stressful. The only reason I am not giving you guys mote stars is because we had so much fun bowling. The draft beer was fine but the mixed drinks were lacking significantly. Ordered 3 drinks, one which we dump out and two which we just straight didn't finish and returned to the bar. If you come, the draft beer was fine. Also got some peanuts.
