Duck Pinz is a blast! My family and I (three folks total for this visit) had a wonderful time here on a Friday afternoon. It's a cute location in a cute area; it had such a fun, authentic vibe outside and in. We came in and wanted to get straight to bowling, and the staff member who set us up was helpful and friendly. The alley area is pretty small, as it's only four lanes. But while I'm sure that could be a disappointment on a crowded night, we found the small size to be conducive to chatting with each other as we played. It's definitely different from standard bowling: you don't wear bowling shoes, the pins are attached to strings that pull them up (as opposed to freestanding pins at a standard alley), and you use smaller, hole-free balls. You also get three throws per frame as opposed to two. I'm not good at bowling, and I'm -- so far -- not good at the duck pin variant. But I didn't find it frustrating, just fun to learn and play! I managed no strikes and a whopping one spare, although I did find the advice posted on the walls helped me get a bit better. I think there is a type of person (someone who takes bowling seriously, or maybe too seriously) who wouldn't enjoy this, but it's really entertaining if you can go in with a good mindset. And not having to find shoes or bowling balls that fit is a huge plus. As far as timing, it took us about an hour and 15 minutes to play two full games; we didn't rush, but we didn't daddle, either. They charge by the hour or half hour, and we paid for our first hour then added a half hour to finish out a second game. A couple who came in about halfway through our visit managed to just squeeze in 10 frames in 30 minutes. We didn't explore the (intriguing) upstairs area, but I did get a fabulous drink -- the Saturn -- at the bar. While I felt like the bowling was a little pricey (not unreasonably priced, to be clear, just something I couldn't afford quite as often), I was surprised at the great value of the drink. Plus, it was delicious -- super well-balanced -- and the bartender was lovely. Even outside of the bowling fun, I could see this being a regular hangout for me if I lived in the area. But even though it's more than an hour from home for me, I'll absolutely take family and friends up to visit when I can. It's an awesome place to have in the region. read more

How much fun is it to go to a regular bar that has a small bowling isles in it!! We went in and rented a lane for 1\2 an hour for $25. No shoe rental required. Imagine skee ball with out the hump and pins instead of holes. Great beer including non-alcoholic, and some mixed drinks as well. Bartenders were super helpful. We had a great time! read more

Service was so friendly and welcoming. Loved the interior decor with the open area and lighting. 30 minutes was just enough for 4 of us to get all 10 frames in. You earn a free drink if you get a strike, which we did !! The upstairs has a few arcade games including skee ball which you pay about $1-$3 per game. Definitely unique, fun and cool. A great little place to check out whenever you are in the Amelia Island area. We stopped by Duck Pinz while walking around the city the night before a big Roadie ride event. And we were so glad we did just that. It is like Bowling with a small flare of Skee Ball and what you get is Duck Pinz. It like bowling but the lane is shorter. The bowling ball you use are way smaller, comparatively the size of 2 Skee balls doesn't have finger holes. Best part is, there are 4 bowling lanes and you do not have to wear any bowling shoes. We were walking around Fernedina after dinner looking for something to do, didnt just want to hit a bar and we stumbled on this place! Duck pin bowling!?! What is this, mini bowling, so cool! It looked nice and brand new, with 4 lanes you put your name on the list and then head to the bar to get a drink, the pin killer was tasty, a fun twist on a pain killer. Bartender was great! We waited about 15 minutes and our lane was ready, you can buy either 30 min or 1 hour ( maybe $20 for 30 min!?) not sure I remember the price. We bowled with the little ball and it was hard to get the strike! The smaller ball and pins were interesting to play with! We all had a great time, loved trying something new! read more

What a fun little spot to check out! It's walking distance from the Historic downtown area with a nice bar with cocktails and draft beers. Including 4 duck bowling lanes that are a blast to play! In the meantime, we drank upstairs and watched football. The upstairs also has shuffleboard and a full bar. The upstairs bartender was super friendly and attentive. Lots of fun but expensive. They charge by time as opposed to by the game for duck pin bowling. This left us scrambling to get our game completed before time ran out. The screen kept warning us of how many minutes remained, making the experience more stressful. Aside from the duck pin bowling, they have a bar, darts, golden tee, table shuffleboard, etc. Good place for games and drinks but they need to change the format for the bowling so you can relax and enjoy the game. read more

We reserved the entire venue for a work event for a couple hours and was fun to do buffet style food, apps and pretty much a full bar with unlimited drinks across the board both beer, wine, and spirits. The only reason I am not giving you guys mote stars is because we had so much fun bowling. The draft beer was fine but the mixed drinks were lacking significantly. Ordered 3 drinks, one which we dump out and two which we just straight didn't finish and returned to the bar. If you come, the draft beer was fine. Also got some peanuts.
