I found Orbit and my Amazing stylist while in the LA area looking for an available appointment. 3 is a charm because theybwere the third salon I called and was happy to get me in. Best accident ever! I found Cara and Cara found me (and the short and sassy hairstyle that fits me best). I enjoy spending time in the salon. I usually get a cut, color and hair treatment. Cara messages my scalp, then got towel then steam! My hair is soft and healthy looking! And I'm totally relaxed! Even the shampoo experience is a step above the rest! I live about 40 miles away... Typically, when I go for my hair appointment, I consider it a relaxing pampered experience & I am usually more than satisfied. This time I was slightly disappointed. Although I pay top price for a Senior stylist, someone who seemed new did my wash & toner treatment; she seemed nervous & struggled to get the water temperature correct, a bit disappointing. Overall, I love what Orbit stylists do for me & my hair but it is a major investment of time & money & I therefore have persistently high expectations. read more

Poor service from the front desk person. Paid 260 for cut and color. Cut was ok spent 2 plus hours to get one shade of brown. Requested balayage but got no highlights at all. The hairdresser clearly knew I wasnt happy but never even bothered to try and fix it. I wo ho ls not recommend going here spending al.ost 300 and walking away upset and unsatisfied. Taking professional pics tomorrow and all I can do is cry. read more

I have tried many different salons over the years. I could never find that ONE salon that would make my hair look awesome. I finally found it at Orbit Hairstyling in Lewiston! Lana Hall is fantastic! I cannot believe how many compliments I receive on my hair style. I have total strangers come up to me and tell me what a fabulous haircut I have! The salon is welcoming and inviting. I book several appointments for the year at one time because they are very busy and I like to come in early. They may cost a little more than other places, but you get what you pay for. I have never had to wait more than five minutes after I arrive to be greeted by Lana. I have now been going to Orbit for over three years and will not go anywhere else. read more

I've been having my hair cut at Orbit for 10 years, and have loved every haircut!

First time customer here. They gave me a tour of the building when I first got there, then had me sit in the waiting room. The waiting room had every type of phone charger available, something I think more places should have. I waited a very long time for my appointment (about 40 minutes) over the time of the original appointment. I think the reason was because the lady ahead of me wanted multiple adjustments on her finished hair style. My stylist (her name slips my mind) was very friendly and gave the most relaxing head massage while shampooing my hair. My stylist was very friendly and easy to have a conversation with, but I felt like the energy of the other girls was very cliquey which made me uncomfortable. The haircut turned out good but I wasn't getting anything more than a few inches cut off. The sales pitch at the end to buy all their products was kind of weird but it wasn't high pressure (at least with my stylist). I'm not sure if I will go back, they definitely didn't live up to the hype. read more

I had a terrible experience at Orbit today. Usually that's not the case. Jacinta was supposed to just dye the tips of my daughter's hair. She dyed all of her hair without asking me. This of course doubled the price. When I asked a question she ignored me or just sneered. The receptionist is always rude so I expected that. Lindsey did my other daughter's hair which turned out nice.So try to get an appointment with Lindsey, avoid Jacinta at all costs, and pay quickly, so you don't have to deal with the receptionist. read more

Went in to have my hair colored to blonde. Came out with stripped highlights of blonde and my regular hair color $341.00 i wasted. This was the second time i went to orbit simply asking for blonde hair, nothing crazy! the first time, last year i had to go back because they didn't do it correct and i was left with red color all through still.. i figured i would give them another shot since they seemed to be a higher class salon, but i was wrong. I had to leave work two times early to have my hair done, the last time , last Friday for them to FIX my hair (and i had to wait 2 weeks to get back in) i waited outside for 30 mins after my appointment time, i had dinner plans and couldn't keep waiting, i simply asked for my money back after the horrible job and NOT even close to what i har asked for and the owner wouldn't give me a cent back. Its not my fault the other appointment went so far over.. Horrible customer service, rude owner, stay clear of this place, over priced and they cant do simple colors correct the first time. read more

I had come here for 4+ years and always had a perfect cut. Only once did I have my highlights come out too light, and it was when my stylist was trying to balance myself and another customer at once. It wasn't that it looked badly, but it was certainly very light compared to what I had been doing and had wanted. When I pointed it out I was immediately offered to have the color redone until I was satisfied. I decided to give it time and see if I adjusted to it (I did). They always stand by their color and will correct it if you are not satisfied. It is certainly expensive for the Lewiston-Auburn area, but it also depends on the experience of your stylist. I usually had Jacinta and she was fantastic and knowledgeable about cut and color. The waiting area is through the main styling section, but they have a massage chair and usually crackers and Hershey's chocolates for customers. They offer you coffee, tea, or water--which it may be instant vs k-cup coffee. The place is always clean. I do agree with another review that mentions the product promotion. Every single visit I was educated on the products used, and at the end (even if I would say I didn't need product) each product was lined up on the desk and I was asked what I'd like to purchase. I bought something once and let them know I didn't need a shine spray, and they actually looked it up and told me it was a year ago when I last purchased a product, and pointed out that it wasn't the product I was declining. I'm comfortable turning down the products, but I do concur that it can feel pushy and make more timid people uncomfortable and perhaps even aversive to returning. In terms of end product, I really had never been disappointed and would probably be going there to this day had we not moved. read more

Lana is amazing for precision cuts! Prices are a little on the higher end - more comparable to Portland but you get what you pay for. Little pushy on the product promotion but again worth the visit to Lana every time. read more
