Very similar service as the others have noted. We had a billing issue and I left a message for a manager "who was not available" as the others have noted. No reason not to return a customers call. We are seasonal customers and over half the time we ask and pay to turn on our services they are not done, then wait 3 to 7 days for them to do this. No idea how they can still be in business, the tie in with the homeowners associations is the only thread they have left. I am no fan of directv or centuryink in any way but believe it or not they are better than Orbitel. The only way to get better service is to move on to another competitor, Orbitel will slowly die and go away when the homeowners groups don't pay them anymore. read more

This company is the worst. Moved into new home in Maricopa and now I regretting it. I had service set up for install for July 6. I received a call to verify install on July 2. On this date I was asked the standard COVID contact questions. I was honest and said the my so. Had indirect contact with someone at work. As a precaution because I have an 80 year old person living in my home, I got everyone in the household tested. No one is showing symptoms. Monday July 6 would be two weeks from the indirect contact my son might have had. The refuse to set up service. They won't tell me what exactly they want to get service installed. The CDC guidelines is 2 weeks quarantine. This company doesn't want to assist customers. They want you money. Stephanie a supervisor said she was goi g to call me back after 4 pm on Thursday July 2. Waited until 10 am on July 6 for her to call. NOTHING!!! I called and got hung up after 30 min on hold after I was told I could leave a message for Charlotte. She was unavailable for 24 hours. I was told she was working today but was unavailable for 24 hours. Called back and got Starr who I spoke to on Thursday. She said all she could do is transfer me to Charlotte. She transferred me to Annie's voicemail. I have worked customer serice for years. If ANYONE treated customers like this they would be out of business. Because you have to have internet service today, you have to take the crap this company puts out. They have no interest in making customers happy or providing a quality product. read more

I have been out in Maricopa for 13 years now... this is simply the worst company to deal with... worst internet experience... worst tv experience... worst phone experience... I have since then, cancelled the tv and phone... but don't have to many choices on the internet... I have spent 100s on routers ... and every time you contact... obviously the person you speak with has no experience in any way shape or form of technical assistance... they have no answers... no assistance... they will run you through the same mumbo jumbo that they are reading off of a screen ... unplug your router... unplug the modem... wait 10 minutes and plug everything in... make sure all connections are tight... INTERNET IS THE SAME TERRIBLE!... and orbitel is like... there is nothing wrong on our side and its running perfect.... then the next issue is getting someone out to the house... here is a ticket number and someone will contact you .... no eta ... no name... no nothing.... have a great day and hangs up on you .... I moved here in June and decided to go with cable instead of satellite because I didn't want to sign a 2 year contract. The office personnel in Maricopa are friendly and helpful. The installer was on time, helpful and honest. So it pains me to say that this is the worst cable service I have ever had. And I have lived all over the country. Limited channels, limited HD, equipment that is 10 years out of date, picture and audio freezes several times per hour (really. NOT exagerating). I attempted to contact service 3 separate times via their email. Don't bother. Nobody reads them. I am having the new Centurylink Prism installed next month. They are about $50 less per month for much more features and channels. And a 30 day trial. If I don't like that....satellite here I come. read more

I will update as I go, I just signed up for Orbitel because I have had it with Centurylink. Internet with CL kept going out, so I called and had to pay for a new router. Got that and it seemed to fix the problem. The problem I was having now is that the speeds are just ridiculously slow. They cap at 40 mbs in Maricopa. They told me I could get 80 on the phone and live chat, so I set that up and the tech never showed. Not to mention the headache of calling in. This is where Orbitel gets a 5 star start on my review. When I call CL, I get automated crap until I finally hit the wrong key enough times to get a person, then I get transferred 5 times in a call. During the call, 4/5 of the people can't find my account, even with the account number, name, address and social. When I give some of them the acct #, they tell me some other person has that number, even though the person before them told me that account number. They some how overlapped my account with another account. After all these headaches, they tell me the tech "called to tell me I don't qualify for 80 mbs" but he never called, and he isn't coming. Thanks for nothing CL. So I call Orbitel to see what promo's they're running and actually get a person first try, no automated crap. They set me up with an awesome deal on 150/10 down/up internet with little to no time required. Super polite lady on the phone. No issues. Can't wait to try it and update this review. Maybe they will be as good as the service, maybe the stars will drop.... Just wait and see :) read more

After all these years of terrible service and ridiculously LOW speeds, Orbitel just turned a corner. They upgraded their servers and I'm now running 50Mbps download speeds. I was skeptical this company could pull it off, but they've done it. Moreover, they're not charging me more for this upgrade -- it comes with my bundled package. I had a previous review on Yelp giving them two stars, but much to my delight, they're now in the modern era! Also, their local service people are very nice. Good going Orbitel. This company has been a complete nightmare. Today was the last straw for my family after the Customer Service MANAGER L. R. said, "If you are unhappy with our services, there is always Century Link and there is no charge to switch." This all came about after our service was disconnected after an Orbitel error. We paid our bill in cash this morning at 8am and were ensured we would not be disconnected, only to be disconnected at about 12:30pm. I called expecting that their was an outage and was informed that the account was disconnected because the agent hadn't correctly posted the payment. The customer service MANAGER (she likes to say she is the director and also told me that she owns the company which are both lies) blamed the agent when in reality cash payments don't post for 24 hours. This manager told me that waiting 30 minutes for a reconnection wasn't detrimental and that I could wait. She explained that they would not credit my account, which I never requested. All this comes after years and years of terrible Internet service and terrible customer service. Avoid this company at all cost. The internet is terribly slow and there are always outages. This company is horrible all the way around and we are currently looking into other options, especially when the "Director" of Customer Service advised us to go elsewhere. read more

I've been with this company in the past and there were internet interruptions, but we couldn't get more than 20 mbps in my area with Century Link, so we came back. We are back with Orbitel again and this time, the internet has been working good. I do have a couple of hi-definition cable news channels that seem to be getting a bad signal but haven't called them because I can get both of them on channels that aren't hi-def. At least with Orbitel, the office people are friendly, and the price doesn't creep up every few months like it did with CL. The mafia has better customer service than CL. read more

This is the worst excuse for a company! They have had our business since 2009, but no longer. Their customer service is horrible towards the customer. Our wifi has been very bad the last 2 years and it kept getting worse. Our TV channels became very bad after their digital change last year. Our channel 10 (Fox) changed over to 12 during the football playoffs and that is not legal. This is just a very bad company!!! I office out of my home and the wifi was always going down at least 4 - 5 times everyday, but it was always our fault and not their equipment. We replaced the router and modem and that did not solve the problem. read more

Orbitel Communications in Maricopa, AZ is (in my opinion) thy worst cable/internet provider I ever had in cable/internet providers. Since I had ordered their service in 2012, I had nothing but problems after problems with their cable service. I once had the whole house checked to make sure that it wasn't any cable/wiring problems. When that was cleared as being any possible problem, that's when the service-person decided to start checking the outside common boxes in the neighborhood. According to cable repair person, there wasn't a "special filter" at the common cable box. Then when the cable service went out again later that day, Orbital repair person had to replace a filter inside the common cable box located inside the house. Then channels started coming up missing on my digital DVR box or the picture completely freezing up. Then one day, Orbital Communication went totally digital; they gave me a rinky-dinky, analog to digital converter box that didn't work worth a hoot. Every time there was a problem, Orbital immediately assumed the problems was on my end when in fact, nearly 100% of time it was on their end. Another time I had no specific channels which I had ordered when their computer decided out of the blue to not list those those channels on their computer, so Orbital had to retype it back into their system and do a restart on my digital DVR box. When I thought it couldn't get worst, even their remote control had problems with it, and it wasn't that old. I had Cox Cable for years before Orbital, and not once did I had any problems that I experienced with Orbital Communication. I changed my phone number and updated with Orbital; yet, that old phone number I had kept popping up in their system, so when I call Orbital service department when I had a cable problem, their service department didn't have my updated phone number. I would grade Orbital a big fat "F" for problem free service. If Cox was another cable service provider in Maricopa, AZ, I would had instantly abandon Orbital because of their pitiful cable service. Currently, I have no cable TV and I had waiting for the cable TV service to come back on again since of 1:50 AM on June 8, 2016. The comments I had read thus far from other Orbital user sounds very similar to what I also experienced. read more

Zero stars! Worst TV provider ever! No service; On screen guide rotates through all channels so you have to wait to see the shows on at each time slot with no control. If you blink, you miss it. To change the channel you have to WAIT for possible reception then when you don't get anything, you realize that there is no channel on that number and so you click up to the next channel number. Why on earth they have numbers with No reception is beyond me. It takes a long time to see what is on. I have to go to my computer to see what is on and then I have to go find the channel on my TV. All we can see on our TV channels are shopping channels! Even if I go into the office I get no service. It took 3 days to get a call back from support!!! The office showed that our service had been turned off two years prior and yet our HOA pays our TV bill! Now they have started mailing us bills for $0 balance!!! It didn't get any better when they turned us back on. They want to charge us to send out a service person!!!! Nothing is wrong with our TV or our remote. Everyone's Orbitel is just like our's. We have no choice of providers. Our developer made a 30 year contract. Ten years later no improvement!!!! If you have a choice, go elsewhere!!! The website is useless, could not get information that is needed to make you decide if what service to pick, does not have rates on the offers that they have on the site. I have been without service for two weeks. they could not fix the problem over the phone; so, we scheduled for them to come out today between 3:00-5:00, and found a note on my door that they were there at 1:20. Worst service I've ever had. I have been with Orbitel for 4 years now and the service seems to be getting worse. My internet went out on Saturday mid-day (on their end), and I was told they could have a service person come out the following Saturday...a week without internet. I pay $65 a month for 20Mbps and it goes out multiple times a day and now I won't have it for over a week. I sometimes work from home, attend grad school online and now my life is on hold. I absolutely hate Orbitel and wish another company would come to the area. I will be cancelling and going to satellite internet. read more

I have been running up terrible cell phone bills waiting for customer service or technical service to answer when my telephone is out. This company get worse and worse, they eliminate channels and don't tell you, then raise their prices anyways, now they are changing their accounting system and have reset everyone's passwords, but did not send out any notifications they changed the passwords. Now they cannot reset your password because of this whole mess. WAY to much money for bad service. A lot of promises and no results....They are the only cable ( DSL ) available in the city of Maricopa and they take advantage of this. Terrible quality, terrible service, added on charges, no discounts for customer retention, when I called and asked if there was anything they could do about the 182.00 bills i pay I was acutely told "we're sorry your not happy maybe you should find another cable service". Prices continue to increase, Now you have to pay for a service call to repair their equipment unless you pay for a monthly wire RX service. Phone and internet down times are getting constant. cable channels freeze. When calling customer service they advertise 24-7 service but weekends, and week days before 8am and after 5pm you are forwarded to a call center in Texas or some where else and told you have to contact your local office because there is nothing they can do from the call center. poor quality equipment, had to replace my cable box 3 time in a 2 years. and they keep giving me back a beat-up used piece that lasts about 6 months. I've had Orbitel since May 2008 when I purchased my home. Started with TV & internet, after a year got rid of the TV portion. I've had some problems with Orbitel but for the most part it hasn't been that awful, until recently. My internet disconnects a few times per day, for less then a minute each time, then reconnects. I contacted them to report it, of course they try to blame it on my equipment and not theirs and try to have you buy their maintenance plan. God forbid they actually try to fix the problem instead of finding someone to blame. I asked them to send out a tech to check the outside connections and wiring. Who knows if that happened as they don't let you know. Still having the same issue, internet going out, then back on. It's a real PITA, especially when on the net or playing video games. People say to stay away, that's not easy when they're the only cable company in the area. It's either them or CenturyLink. Not to sure how much better dsl would be. Here's hoping that Cox Comm buys them out one day. read more

This company has been nothing but trouble since day 1!!We waited at home all Saturday morning for the installation appt and when they didn't show up we called their office and the tech claimed to have knocked on our door yet did not bother to ring the doorbell. When I tried to re schedule they told me I had to wait another week OR go pick up the equipment and install myself. The tech claimed to have called my cell phone but when I asked them to confirm # with me it was off by 1 digit because the lady that opened my acct wrote it down wrong. Then when I got my 1st bill it was $40 more than what they had quoted me when I signed up. I called to discuss my bill with them and have been speaking to random people who cannot explain why my bill is so high. I've asked to speak to a manager or to have a manager call me back since they are always "unavailable"to go over the bill so I can pay it off and i am still waiting for a call back as of today(needless to say, I've called at least 10 times since April 10...... Today is April 30) and I still not received a single call back from them. I am shocked this business is still open with their HORRIBLE customer service. I canceled my service after receiving my first bill and have been with DirecTV since and I would strongly recommend DirecTV anyday read more

We had been customers of Orbitel for over 5 years...the entire time we lived in Maricopa. Never had any problems with service and never missed a single payment. We moved to Gilbert, AZ in November and had to shut off our service. We paid our last bill and re-verified when we dropped off our equipment that our account was closed and paid in full. All of a sudden I start getting calls from a collections agency in March stating we owe $72.00 and this delinquency has been reported to the credit agencies. When I called Orbitel, they said "you know you have to pay your bills, right???" We explained that 2 people confirmed that our account was paid in full when we moved out of Maricopa and we have not received any bills since then (even though we have mail forwarding). They representative told me that we would have to pay or our credit would be damaged. I have perfect credit and I was forced to pay to get the listing off of my credit report. This is a poor way to do business and disgraceful way to treat your customers (now former customer). I will be sharing my experience with all of my friends and former neighbors in Maricopa in the hopes that they will disconnect their service as well. read more

I've had Orbitel internet for over 5 years in Maricopa AZ. A few days ago I discovered my internet service was cancelled due to an administrative/billing error on their part, in other words, their screw up. I paid my bill online each month and my account was current. After hold times exceeding 1 hour over 2 days I finally reached customer service. I was promised a return call which I never received. So I had to start all over the following day. They never apologized for what was their error, nor did they offer to send someone out right away to restore my service although it was through THEIR INCOMPETENCE AND ERROR that I did not have internet. I am self employed and Internet is very important to my business. I was truly shocked at their lack of customer service at even the basic level. Switching to Century Link for less $$--Won't be doing business with Orbitel any longer. This company is lacking something, not sure what! BEWARE read more

If I could I would leave this with a negative star. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I think that because there is only a few internet providers in the area they feel they are God. They wanted me to wait for a week to get internet. Considering the only option was CenturyLink I waited and they didn't show up. So I called and told him they didn't show up and they said we don't even have you down to get service I could not believe it so then I had to wait another four days for them to come back out and when then came out and said that they couldn't hook me up that I have to call somebody else to wire my system I thought that's what they were here for. I was so totally frustrated by this point I decided to call CenturyLink and give them a shot mistake. They didn't show up either and of course there is nothing that I can do about it I'm just going to have to wait another 3 days. What the hell happened to customer service are we so eager just to have the product that will take any kind of conduct from the company in order to receive it. I have been as patient as possible for more than three years with Orbitel. Trying to keep my business with a small up and coming local business, however, I can't do it any longer! Every day something is disrupted whether its 'tiling, service temporarily unavailable, or the cable completed goes out at any random time on every TV in the house and takes a minimum of 30 minutes to reboot. Over the last 3 years I've had to call into the office on a minimum of 15 times to get credit for a PPV movie that had no sound or 'tiling' throughout or just freezes up. Needless to say I will not order PPV ever again. In the last year they've been to my home 9 times to try and fix the issues by replacing boxes, remotes, inside cables, outside cables working on outside lines at the main box down the street. I've spoken with 5 different neighbors on my street who experience the same problems. We have all had supervisors at our homes and all of us have been asked 'please be patient a little bit longer were trying to get everything upgraded". You would think that the professional thing to do is lower our rates for an indefinite amount of time, instead they raised the rates for the services as well as the cable boxes! Extended cable and one premium channel is a luxury for me, however I've wholeheartedly come to the conclusion that this is the best Orbitel has to offer and I don't feel its going to get any better any time soon. As much as I don't want to get into a contract with the 'other' company available in Maricopa, my money is too precious and trying to sit down in the evening to watch a little TV and having programs freeze up, be distorted or just completely turn off has shaken my trust and patience with Orbited once and for all. read more
