The food here was pretty good and the service wasn't too bad either. The ambiance of the restaurant leaves much to be desired as it does seem like you're eating in a senior center cafeteria - the walls are white, the layout is strange, it's loud, and you're served on a paper placemat. But, the food is much better than the other kosher "Asian" place in Boca. On price, I do think they're a bit expensive (each dinner entree is about $20) which might be normal, but I'd expect a bit more in terms of decor. read more

We went to Orchid Gardens on a Monday night. Overall, we had a good experience. When we sat down at our table we found tea on the table, a Chinese custom. I asked if they had lemonade, but they didn't so I ordered a Coke. They had a wide menu, but they only had two kinds of red wine. I ordered boneless chicken and fried rice. The rest of my table ordered mandarin duck, Chinese chicken and Mongolian beef. Every meal came with rice and vegetables. The first thing we got was soup. I ordered won-ton soup, a kind of chicken soup with a big Chinese noodle in it. It was pretty good and flavorful. Then we got our dinner. It was not bad, and the portions were big. For dessert I got mint-chocolate-chip ice cream (pareve). Our bill wasn't as high as I expected it to be. At the end, they gave us fortune cookies. The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. Our waiter was friendly and the service was medium fast. They have Chinese staff. The washrooms were clean compared to most restaurant washrooms. I think they should paint the walls a different color than white, but overall, I am impressed with our visit to this restaurant. read more

I am not a big fan of Chinese food, but have to say this is one of the best Chinese food joints around, and it's kosher to boot! It doesn't get better than this, great big portions that always deliver the taste one would expect when ordering the food. WARNING! Absolutely the worst place I have ever been. Went with all my kids. Some of them did not want food but we ordered more than $100 in food. The manager came over and very rudely said that if all of us do not eat , we cannot sit there. So i said fine, we will take our food to go and leave. Honestly if I can give this place a 0 I would. So here was my experience. A group of us over 6 people went to have dinner and we ordered a lot of food to where our bill was over 350 dollars. We ordered dishes such as the ribs, Mongolian chicken, mushroom beef, dumplings, egg rolls. Everything was so inedible that I honestly was scared because I didn't know what I was eating. The fact that they would serve this food is so disgusting. Then not to mention the waitress we had was so rude and unpleasant that I just wanted to get up and leave because it made our experience so much worse. The owners have terrible, miserable looks on their faces. We asked them to lower the air because it was on 78 and when we asked it was like we were pulling teeth. It's shameful how they are one of the few kosher places in the Boca area and are serving hot and sour soup that tastes like dish water. Also the bill was hand written so we couldn't even read the writing. So we were most likely overcharged for things. If I was you I would save your money and buy your own food and cook it yourself from the Grove. I would miss out on this meal if you don't want to get sick. read more

Amazing ..fresh!. always consistent! Great choices that are authentic and plentiful! Just as u remember Chinese as a kid! Been going here for years and we look forward each time. We ate the Twilight special here . With that we had to pay cash not credit card,I had tofu with Chinese vegetables. It included soup,egg roll, brown or fried rice, house dessert & tea. My wife had beef with Chinese vegetables. This is a Kosher restaurant. The food was just ordinary not outstanding. If we wanted to order American dishes on the menu there would have been a 45 minute wait for that according to our waiter. read more

Let me start my review with saying from start to finish this restaurant was awful. I would have rather had a cockroach in my food than the experience I had. When we arrived half the restaurant was empty. We asked to be seated in the front of the restaurant and the server said we cannot we must sit in the back of the restaurant near the bathrooms. After going back and forth for a few minutes the server realized we had 6 people instead of 5 so we could in fact sit in the front. She did say at that point however to us "if we need the table we will just kick you out". She then smiled and walked away. At that point we should have left,however, being from out of town and having driven 45 min we sat at the table. The waitress then came to our table and threw down the early bird menus and ran away. We wanted the regular menus and waited and waited. She finally arrived and grabbed all the menu away. We finally ordered and again waited forever. When the food cane it was the wrong order. I asked her to bring the right order and she looked at me annoyed and said fine Ill be back. I told the waitress that my son had a life threatening allergy to nuts. Please tell me if the cake has any nuts. She looked at the cake and said "I dont see any nuts, do you"? I said what about the ice cream? The waitress said I dont know it looks fine take it. I asked her to ask the chef regarding the ingredients. She told me they buy it. I asked her to check the container. She said there is nithing written on the container eat fruit. My husband on the way to the bathroom saw the empty boxes which said processed with nuts! The meal was a disaster. The bathrooms were filthy. Thank G-d noone died. Just remeber when you eat at Orchids Garden you are doing them a favor and any food preferences should not be expected to be honored and dont wash your hands when you leave their bathroom because its apparent by the state of the bathroom that they dont. read more

The dinner specials were not bad for the price. You get big portions of so so food, but it is at least affordable to bring your family too. Also, they only take tips by cash...which considering most kosher restaurants force you to pay an 18% service fee I did not mind.
