And I'm Greek, so you can take my word for it ;) While it may seem slightly off the beaten path right off Flagler, it's very conveniently located by the Knight Center metro stop and a very easy walk from the bridge. Also, the atmosphere they've created both indoors and outdoors really draws you in: beautiful foliage, gorgeous decor, and inviting decor. They play amazing Greek music to set the mood at a very reasonable volume so you can still hear your party. I've been for lunch during Miami spice and recently for dinner. Everything I've had was delicious with tons of flavor and huge portions. Both times I took enough leftovers for another meal! I especially love their zucchini fritters and their spread plate. All their spreads are so fresh and flavorful but their hummus especially was soo good. My husband and I shared the meat platter for two for dinner and enjoyed everything on it - the loukaniko was especially delicious! Oh my God where do I start! We had the best date night. This place is so amazing. I went with low expectations given my knowledge and experience with mediterranean food in miami: small portions, bland taste. This is completely different and out of this world! The food is super tasty, super fresh, portions are adequate without paying a steep price. The salad: we got a greek salad, it was way bigger than what we expected, the tomatos and feta cheese were delicious and my fiance thought that this was the star dish. Its not your basic salad. The waitress prepared it right infront of us and cut fresh tomatos and veggies on a station. Saganaki: must order, this was my favorite dish. Even though its such a simple ingredient (cheese) the flavor is crazy, they torched it and heated it infront of us and we couldn't stop eating it Souvlaki: the chicken was delicious, we got two full skewers, they serve it with fries and their special sauce which is so delicious! Even the fries were delicious and well seasoned! Octopus: this was mind blowing, especially with the meraki sauce. This is technically an appetizer but feels like a whole dish!! We were in the Miami area on a Monday late afternoon with my in-laws and decided to grab an early dinner. We opted for Meraki Greek Bistro because they were part of inKind. The space, vibe and decor is pretty on point and reminds us of Santorini, which is where we went for our honeymoon. It was the main dishes that was a disappointment. I got the Seared Scallops with linguine pasta. Hubby got the Lamb Chops with feta cheese fries. As soon as my scallops came out, I could tell it was going to disappoint. You can just tell as it wasn't freshly grilled/seared and not juicy. I try to get scallops when dining out as they always have that perfect sear. This was not it. I dug my fork in and right away felt like these were frozen scallops that were just overcooked. I should have returned it but didn't want to be that person. Hubby's $38 lamb chops were just ok and dry. Maybe it was an off day or maybe not. I would give the restaurant vibe and service 5 stars across the board. But the food was disappointing, even with the inKind discount and so pricey for what we got. I gave the food 3 stars. Our dinner before the inKind discount and before tip was a whopping $234!!! $234.36 total - $106.95 inKind credit used = $127.41 + $43.40 tip = $170.81 total paid after discounts & tip. Honestly, the price point did not justify the quality. Without the discount, we would have paid $281 with tip. I really wish we loved everything more as the ambiance was EVERYTHING! My friends & I had another great visit at Meraki. The construction for the new spot has completed since my last visit and I love the new design of the interior. We tried the pitcher of the Zeus-Eros cocktail that was a good price for about 4.5 drinks and the Family Meraki platter. The food was on point once more when it came to the meats with the exception of the pork compared with the chicken and lamb. It was a bit chewy and next time we will request maybe some extra chicken & lamb instead. The new happy menu looks fabulous too and something we are interested in trying sometime earlier in the evening next time. The service was phenomenal and our waitress rocked! This is the second Meraki I try, I usually go to the one in the Grove. I like that it's a block away from the Knight Center Metromover station, that's very convenient. The staff was nice enough, our waiter did forget about us a couple of times though. Inside is nice, way more spacious than the Grove location. Although I don't like that they keep the door open, I shouldn't be getting bit by mosquitoes inside a restaurant. The food was pretty good, and it came out quick which was nice. read more

I've been dining at Meraki Greek Bistro for close to a decade, and it remains one of the most authentic, consistently excellent restaurants in all of Miami. Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember this particular strip mall right in the beginning of Alton road. Today, Meraki graces this space. It wasn't until the other day that a coworker and I were walking down the street from work that once we stumbled upon it we decided to give it a try. It was very quiet with one other couple sitting to enjoy lunch--they looked like locals enjoying a leisurely time. In my mind, this seemed like their "spot." The service was great with a kind and attentive waitress who took her time explaining the plates to us and the food was even better. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki platter and subbed my fries for lemon potatoes. The chicken was tender and flavorful and the lemon potato's were a flavor explosion in the mouth. Perfectly peeled, poached, and quartered bathed in a what seemed like a lemon olive oil. Simply delicious. I felt great after eating the meal as it was a clean, simple, unprocessed meal with whole foods that still had a lot of flavor. The mussels were rotten, and unfortunately it took me tasting it to realize that, so hopefully I dont get food poisoning. I sent the seafood pasta back and asked for the same thing without the mussels. That one was fishy, but not rotten, the octopus was undercooked, once side of the tentacle was very slimy. I think they just have old seafood in general and thats the cause. I dont ask to take charges off the bill when something like this happens as not to look like I'm just complaining to get a free meal. The right thing to do would have been to not charge me. My friend had some kind of chicken that was sat on a king size mattress bed of french fries. Pretty basic meal. The pictures I saw are very annoying about the actual meal not so much. Really lovely setting! Food is good but portions a little small for price. The restaurant itself is a little hidden oasis in downtown Miami. You have to go down a little alley to find it, then the alley opens up to a quiet courtyard with outdoor dining as well as an indoor space. Love the courtyard vibe for outdoor dining without cars and noise. One of the nightly specials when we came was an artichoke dish with peas and carrots. We ordered it with fries. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say the quality was mind-blowing, and the portion was fairly small. We also ate one of their melted cheese apps to fill the gap since we were still hungry and this was also tasty. It's a vibe for sure. And the food is pretty good. If you're on the street, you can easily miss this place, as you must walk through a small alleyway between restaurants to reach its entrance. Once there, you are transported to a Greek village with its color, decor architecture and infectious feel. There in table seating inside and outside. THE FOOD: On our visit, we were party of 12 so a few appetizers were ordered like Hummus 3/5 and Tzatziki 4/5 with pita, Spanakopita 5/5 and Saganaki 5/5. All fresh tasting. For entrees, we ordered the family plattrs that were dished very well. We had the "Meraki Gyro platter" 5/5 and I believe the "Village poikilia meat platter" 10/5 , so good. We stopped in for an early dinner here yesterday. As vegetarians, when we have Greek food (one of our favorite cuisines!), we usually like to order a few appetizers to share. We didn't even realize when we walked in that it was happy hour, which meant that 2 of our 3 appetizers were only $7 each--felt like cheating! We ordered the Honey & Sesame Cheese Puffs, Saganaki, and Kolokithokeftedes (zucchini fritters). The Honey & Sesame Cheese Puffs were something I've never seen on a menu before, so I knew immediately I had to try them. When I think "cheese puffs", I think of something more round and small, so I was surprised when they came out as two large triangles. These were a tasty and unique combo of sweet and salty that I really enjoyed. The zucchini fritters were not what I was expecting either, but that may have been my own fault--I looked at Yelp before visiting and saw lots of pictures of a fried zucchini dish, so when I saw "zucchini" that was where my mind went. I don't think that other zucchini dish is still on the menu, but these fritters were round and soft and a little bit peppery, with a nice tzatziki sauce to balance it out. Of the three appetizers we ordered, they were my least favorite, but they weren't bad. The saganaki was my favorite of the three. I love a good saganaki, and this one was excellent. The cheese was soft and well-seasoned and I left a few of the fritters behind so that I could finish off the saganaki. I will say the vibe at the restaurant felt a little strange, but I think they were just overstaffed? The serving staff seemed to be lingering nearby in a way that felt a little awkward. Also, the front doors were left wide open (we sat inside)--this allowed for a nice breeze of fresh air, but unfortunately it also invited a lot of bugs in, which we had to swat away from our food constantly. Love love love this place! It's a hidden gem in Miami and it is a must go. The colors, decor and overall Greek ambience was really nice and the music was beautiful. I do want to mention that a pet peeve of mine is music at restaurants that don't fit the theme and Meraki definitely did not disappoint in that. The music was fitting for the theme, it was not loud or obnoxious, it was just right. Service was wonderful. We were greeted properly, checked on, and our server Dionysius took really good care of us. He helped us with food selection and when we couldn't decide on a wine to drink, we were offered different Greek wines to try to select the one that we liked best. It also began to drizzle at one point and he opened the umbrella for us and had us seated in a way where the water wouldn't hit us or the food. We asked for recommendations for appetizers and Dionysius suggested the homemade meatballs and the sesame honey cheese puff. The food came rather quick and tasted very good. The cheese puff was a big portion which I liked. The tzatziki sauce is definitely one of the best I've had. We ordered the lamb chop platter and the Meraki salad with an added chicken skewer and feta. Both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, we ordered the 3 dessert option. We got the baklava, the galaktoboureko and the bougatsa. They were all good. And the galaktouboureko was the best. It was soft and moist. The price of all this food and 2 glasses of wine came out to about $153 (w/o tip) All in all, I definitely recommend this place and I'll definitely be coming back. Downtown Meraki has expanded into a larger interior space. This formerly was a Brazilian rhodizio we'd enjoyed a number of times. Good luck to Meraki. We were at an arts event downtown and needed a dinner place and chose this. Take a look at the seafood offerings, several are nicely priced meals for two. We chose Tigania For 2, a variety of seafood and fish bites lightly fried. The fish, surprisingly, was salmon. Next time I'd like to try the Seafood Saganaki for 2 and have almost the same grilled. We also placed an order of Greek fries. They came a bit cold, perhaps waiting for the seafood to cook. No problem a freshly fried batch were brought to us.
