BEWARE OF SHADING BILLING!!! I brought my 15 year old daughter here for removal of her 4 wisdom teeth. She chose to not be put under general anesthesia. They initially charged me for general anesthesia, just in case. I didn't realize this until they later sent me a bill for about 100 bucks, stating I have a balance owed. I compared their bill to the insurance claim and low and behold I found the discrepancy charge for general anesthesia which meant I actually would be needing a refund. Boy was this difficult to get. Multiple phones calls, the women who does insurance told me they no longer accept my insurance and next time I will have to deal with insurance. Ok well I don't plan on removing any more wisdom teeth or having more kids so I am ok with that. In the end they told me they can't even issue refunds but instead a third party does and instead of refunding me the payer and adult eventually they cut a check to my daughter. This took over 6 months to resolve and like I said multiple calls. This could have damaged my credit having a bill owed. Double check any bills they send against your insurance claim as these people are shady. Some other information that might be useful to those looking for dental extractions. The bed side manner of the dentist preforming the work was to say the least creepy, he didn't numb her enough as he was annoyed she didn't want to be put under. He would have to stop when she was in pain and crying to re numb her. He whistled while he did the work, while my 15 year was crying. He just acted like he couldn't hear her. read more

Dr Tucker was kind and professional. I had an extraction and he was amazingly swift, and painless. If I have to have another surgery, I would have total confidence in his ability and care of patients. His staff was great and answered my questions patiently. Very thankful he was recommended to me! Well, initially I was a little put off by Dr Tucker as he looked at my X-rays then looked at my dental records. Then said, "Yeah, we should be able to get that out without much problem." (A root left over after my crowned molar had completely disintegrated underneath the crown and it came off. And the root had had 2 root canals done on it.) Then proceeded to give me the usual breakdown regarding of what the expect and what to do and what NOT to do pre and post op and was out the door in a flash. I was given hard copies for the instructions and prescriptions. And was told the office would call with a date for surgery. It took another month and finally, on my birthday, I headed in. I won't go into and details but suffice it to that the experience that I got that day in the office in comparison to what my journey there had been like, it was absolutely stellar! I arrived late, apparently they'd wanted me in earlier and that procedure itself was scheduled at that time. When I explained my situation, a car issue and other stuff I won't get into and that I lived 2 1/2 hours away and I have shoulder problems with driving long distances, the office person was very sweet and told me that they may be able to do it still since I was only having local and no sedation but she'd have ask the doctor. A few minutes later she came back and said that they'd go ahead and do it. For everything I went through that day, I nearly freaked out when Dr Tucker said, "Ok, we're all done." I said, "Seriously, dude? After only 15 minutes tops, we're done?! Ya gotta be sh*t*ing me Doc!? 15 minutes and you're all DONE?! Lord have mercy! This has been like the best birthday present ever in my life! I bet a client's never told you THAT before!" And they all laughed. Dr Tucker told me I might want to wait till the local wore off before I made any final conclusions on that. We all laughed again. And, indeed, the next day I experienced some achiness that was very deep and had to take stronger meds so I could sleep at night. But otherwise, "Still the best birthday present ever!" Extremely upset at the scheduling. I was called because of a cancellation to move my appointment up for tooth extraction and bone graph call earlier in the morning to verify and was told another patient was scheduled in my place. No reason given except no one in the office knew who I talked to. Now they tell me the surgeon won't be available for my original scheduled surgery, date now they're pushing me back until the following month. Very unprofessional and rude. read more

I am blown away by how rudely I was treated. Shania, that answers the phone, is awful. She has a negative attitude and is unhelpful and rude. She refused to take my dental insurance information, refused to call my dentist to verify it herself, and refused to transfer me to the office manager. I called my dentist office and verified the info, it was exactly what I tried to give to her. For some reason my dentist office doesn't have any issue with billing my insurance company. My dentist also referred us to other oral surgeons, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

HORRIFIC Back office, mixed messages as far as status of referral, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing and when you try to clarify you get white trash attitude. Office manager is apparently never in the office and they have no way to get a message to the doctor who promised he was reachable. It's been 6 weeks when I was promised to be scheduling the procedure after 1 week. Office staff make things up, then when you ask for the details they crawfish on what they just said and blame someone else. This business was awful and unaccommodating when it came to figuring out insurance coverage. They initially told me that my insurance would cover a portion of their wisdom tooth removal services, only to BILL ME FOR THE ENTIRE PROCEDURE out of pocket. When I asked them to contact my TWO insurance agencies for what should have been covered, THEY TOLD ME TO IGNORE THE BILL until they did so and got back to me about what I actually owed. Instead, they NEVER CONTACTED ME AGAIN and proceeded to SEND MY BILL TO A COLLECTION AGENCY, which is RUINING MY CREDIT. read more

If I could give them 6 stars I would. My daughter had an E-scooter accident and wound up in the ER with multiple fractured teeth, her bottom lip had detached from her gum, it was very scary! Dr Williams was the on-call emergency oral surgeon. He came to the ER, comforted my daughter, cleaned off all the blood on her face and body that hadn't been done by the nurse, asked her what her favorite kind of music was and her favorite artist. He played her favorite music while he stitched up her lip, 2 layers of stitches and explained to her, everything he was going to do and what was going to happen next. He gave her a thorough examination and gave her all the details and answered all her questions. His bedside manner is top tier, it truly is! She had to have a bone graft, and implant, a root canal, fillings, among many other things. It took over a year to get her all fixed! Every appointment she had with Dr Williams, he made sure she was comfortable, not in any pain and at ease with what was going to happen. I can't say enough about Dr Williams and the care he provided my daughter through such a traumatic time! Thank you is not enough! Raena in the office is also top tier! She's always SO friendly and inviting, takes time to connect with each person, not just us - we have heard her multiple times with others. She's fantastic! She called us ahead of an appointment to let us know we needed a prior authorization for the procedure, so she wanted to reschedule to make sure the appointment was covered by our insurance. She's on top of it, thorough and just all around awesome to deal with! Hopefully we don't have to go back, but if I ever need oral surgery, THIS is where I would choose to go....HANDS DOWN! 10/10 recommend! read more

I just had all of my wisdom teeth removed 3 days ago and the whole experience was so smooth. I have terrible anxiety and upon walking in the front desk woman was so kind and compassionate. She even took extra time to make conversation with me to ease my anxiety while I waited to go back. Then when I went back the woman taking my vitals was also just so kind and sweet and comforting. They had music going and it helped tremendously. They allowed my husband to be in the room until I was under iv sedation. The dentist Dr Williams told me everything he was doing as he set me up to go under and before I knew it I was awake and assisted gently to head home. Day 3 and I'm only a little sore. I was so scared for this procedure for years and I'm so glad I was able to have it done here. read more

I made 3 appointments to have a implant done; one while I was in lockdown and 2 trips from Arizona; and was throughly disappointed that after all the Scans X-ray and multiple visits that it took til the day of the surgery, that it couldn't be done! The last appointment involved driving from AZ to Oregon wasting thousands of dollars and weeks of a waste of time. Be cautious of unprofessional service and exorbitant prices and considered better option. They suggested doing a bridge instead; involving extraction of another tooth altering a existing crown, and hang around Oregon for another week!!!??? They couldn't get the implant done!! Dr Tucker and the entire dental staff were kind and compassionate. Dr Tucker and his assistant explained everything, taking special care to encourage me to let them know of ANY discomfort during the procedure. Went to a consultation with Dr. Tucker. First of all, they made me wait over an hour: completely unacceptable behaviour considering exorbitant prices. Then the doctor came and performed "examination". He did not seem to show any concern or sympathy. Patients are just dollar signs to them. He barely glanced at me, said the standard things and then left the office. They did not even quote the price for the whole procedure, said they would email it later. Actually, they did not say anything I have not already known. Waste of time and money. The waiting room was crowded and the whole vibe was unwelcoming. The dental assistant was all right. But just imagine waiting for an hour when you have dental anxiety. It's stressful enough already. I don't think I will be going back. read more

The front desk staff are probably the rudest, condescending and unprofessional front line staff that I've ever seen. They treat their consumers like they are moronic and clueless. Thy make fun of the consumer in the back offices, in clear earshot of said consumers as they walk back to the exam room. Dr. Tucker performed bone graft surgery on me a month ago. That evening I experienced extreme break through pain. Neither I nor my daughter were able to reach a doctor by phone (weekend) to discuss treatment. When I telephoned on the following Monday and spoke with the "office manager" she was rude and unprofessional. They had the wrong phone number and did not even look up the correct number in my chart. A month later I have received no follow-up appointments or care. Dr. Tucker and his office do not show any concern for a patient after the bill is paid. read more

Let me just say, I suffer from anxiety and I was beyond nervous... I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled, the staff here is AMAZING. Dr. Williams is one of a kind, he came in, introduced himself and held my hand a little more for comfort and support as I was crying and my legs were shaking I was so scared. I expressed my worries and concerns, they answered every question I had and reassured me I would be fine. Even gave me a little anxiety med before they started my IV so I could be a little more relaxed. I don't remember any of the procedure and I woke up smiling. I just had both of my upper wisdom teeth removed, and it went beyond smoothly! Dr. Hammon was so kind and encouraging, he genuinely listened to my concerns and explained everything as he went along (which I appreciated, as I was incredibly nervous!). The procedure was very quick (thank goodness...) and he was very competent as I've had no complications as of yet and little to no pain (well, I'm sure the high amounts of NSAIDs have something to do with that haha but his efficiency and competency of course play a huge role). I found this office by randomly searching Google, and I'm so glad I decided to take a chance on them! I also have to give a shout out to the office staff, who are really the nicest and most welcoming people. With any luck, I won't ~need~ to have any dental work done any time soon, but if I do I will not hesitate to come back here! read more

Had an AMAZING experience. Going into having a double jaw surgery I was extremely nervous and uncomfortable!! Dr. Allender & Dr Tucker turned that around and made me feel 110% comfortable with what I was about to go through. My recovery time was what I expected because they had gave me a heads up ahead of time. Now that I am FULLY healed I am SO happy with their work. The only issue I had was some of the front desk staff who weren't very welcoming and pleasant or to busy talking. read more

They don't get any better than Dr. Allender! This is the second time that I have required oral surgery, and I wouldn't go to any other surgeon! My surgery was not easy, or straight forward, but Dr. Allender was there every step of the way. I had to have a bone graft, and four implants placed! Recovery time was long, but he had told me going into it that it would be! His staff is extremely kind and caring as well. I would not hesitate to refer friends and family to Dr. Allender! You owe it to yourself and your smile to choose the best option available to you, and Dr. Allender is the best! read more

The staff was great and the doctor (Todd Tucker) competent. Expect to wait a minimum of half an hour upon arriving at the appointed time and then wait again once in the doctor's office. I was scheduled to have a tooth replacement. They did half the work, filling the hole with bone, and I paid a lot of money for that. At least 2 thousand dollars. I was confused about the billing and questioned them about that. When I went back for the tooth replacement after the bone had melded, 3 months later, I was informed personally by Dr. Tucker that I would have to go elsewhere for the tooth replacement and if I couldn't find a doctor to do it, he would recommend one. In other words, they were not going to do it. I assume that this was because I questioned the invoicing. They cost a lot of money, and seeing all the advertising they do, they spend a lot on swag and advertising. read more

Was referred to Oregon Oral and Facial Surgeons by dentist for a consult. Met with Dr. Hannon in my experience he was abrasive and dismissed my attempts to obtain information regarding my condition and concerns. He wanted to schedule an immediate CAT scan but the machine was not working and it would have to be rescheduled. As I was leaving he said that I needed a CAT scan but he would not recommend surgery. He showed no empathy when I asked about chronic pain and how it could be treated without surgery. I asked about insurance coverage and what tests were covered and the office administrator she said that generally it takes them about 2 weeks to hear back from the insurance company. I have insurance but a large deductible so the costs of tests are an important factor I need to know up front. In general, I felt there was more concern for billing the patient for expensive tests and services and that there was little concern for actually diagnosing the issue and the patient's well being. read more

Absolutely horrible, the doctors refuse to listen and when asked for a consult to get jaw surgery so my teeth would actually fit and function. The doctor looked at me liked I was a complete moron and then charged a grand to the VA Hospital that referred me to this travesty of a doctor. As a disabled veteran with severe TMJ, being given a thousand dollar night guard that doesn't do a thing for me when it feels like my mandibular joint is grinding apart from eating is fraudulent and entirely messed up. They lack any type of moral or ethical backbone, do not listen to their patients and talk derisively to them as if they know nothing about what pain is occurring in their body and how their teeth function. These people like to scam the government for a night guard and not treat disabled veterans with the care that they deserve. read more

My daughter went in to get her 4 wisdom teeth removed. The original doctor we met was very creepy, literally scanning us both from head to toe. We then met with Dr. Tucker who was much more professional and kind. He was great with my daughter's questions and anxiety, and the surgery went well. However, after the very brief 'recovery' time, she was taken out to the car in a wheelchair and we were told that we could call with any questions. Well....I called about 3 hours later with concerns, and was told I could only leave a message for the nurse, and never heard back! 3 hours later I did call them again, and when I voiced my concerns, the office manager was very understanding and willing to listen to my frustrations. Another plus: when I realized, over the weekend before the surgery, that my daughter would need anxiety meds pre-op, the on-call phone doctor, Dr. Clark, was extremely kind and helpful and managed to get a prescription done via phone, and spoke and texted directly with me through the whole process. Overall, I am happy with this doctor's office, despite a couple of negative points mentioned. read more

Dr. Allender is the nicest kindest Oral surgeon. I have seen him for a few years now because I have a tremendous amount of problems with me teeth. He treats me with extreme kindness and caring. He is extremely skilled and this past summer I have been in countless times to deal with an implant. It was extremely traumatic for me and he was so caring and kind. He made me a special tooth so I didn't have to have a hole in my mouth all summer or have a huge contraption in my mouth. I am so grateful for his compassion and caring and I feel lucky that such a wonderful oral surgeon is here in Eugene because I know I will be back again. read more

They do no prescription refills over the weekend so when you call In They expect you to go sit in the urgent care room for four hours while in pain to get more. Terrible service and very rude people. It started with the office setting up an appointment with the wrong doctor. When we had finished the consultation, I was told what my financial responsibility would be, and that I needed to pay it before the procedure. I expected this, and paid what I was told was my portion. 2 months later I receive a bill for a very large amount. I call to straighten out the mistake, only to find out that they lied to me about how much the procedure and subsequently "my portion" was. I understand these things are expensive, but they intentionally deceived me to get me to schedule the procedure. Unfortunately you can't count on honesty anymore. It is very disappointing. Of course I am powerless to do anything at this point, because they will destroy my good credit. read more

Go somewhere else. Their lack of Covid 19 safety protocol is obscene. Plus, when I left, I paid my bill in full...in cash. A month later I get a bill for another $125 that had nothing to do with the procedure I had there. I called the billing office and the woman I spoke with agreed with me that there was some mistake as what I was being billed for had nothing to to dwith why I was there. So, she put me in contact with her supervisor who turned out to be one of the rudest people I have encountered in a long long time. she would not even listen to my explanation, just said "You owe the money. Either pay it or we send it to collections" . I tried to explain again and she cut me off. I have excellent credit and was not going to have it ruined over this. So, I paid. Since then, I have heard from several people who had the same billing problem with them. I wouldn't even give them one star, but in order to post this I have to give them something. I spoke with Alexis over the phone in an attempt to find out more regarding insurance coverage, co-pay costs for a wisdom tooth extraction, and the cost of a consultation. When I initially asked if my insurance would be covered, Alexis could not hear me clearly. Upon repeating, she simply said "We would bill *insert insurance*." I then clarified my question to ask what additional out-of-pocket costs I would need to pay. She proceeded to explain the co-pay costs in an exasperated, shouldn't-you-know tone. I am a college student, with a minimum-wage job, who recently moved from Tampa, FL, experiencing pain from an impacted wisdom tooth that is infected. Money is low, and the last thing that I want is sass from a receptionist when I'm simply trying to save money and ask questions. read more

We have to compare the horrible mistakes we experienced at Tucker's practice with the professionalism we see at Oregon Medical Group, Oregon Eye Associates, University Hospital in Seattle and the like -- and we won't go back to Oregon Facial & Maxillary (Tucker's business). Tucker's staff didn't refill a vital prescription I requested -- antibiotic for the infection that developed after Tucker performed my surgery, despite my making call after call begging for something to break my high fever. Even our pharmacist tried to get Tucker's practice to stop giving me a useless run-around and renew my prescription as I'd requested four days previously -- she was also sent away with a strikingly unhelpful answer from Tucker's staff :( Without antibiotic for a several days, I developed the worst fever, sweating and chills I'd experienced in over 30 years. No apology from Tucker or his medical staff. Given the medical history that I'd already provided to Tucker, I feel they should have been aware of the strain on my heart from chills that shook me so severely that I couldn't walk from bed to the bathroom -- and a week of fever and night sweats. I had just completed a study for my cardiologist that required me to wear a heart monitor 24/7 (to look at existing problems like my RBBB and tachycardia); I had told Tucker's staff this -- and they evidently took no extra care to protect the health of known cardiac patient. Speaking as consumers, my wife and I are severely disappointed in that area as well: we're not accustomed to paying a professional in ANY field over $2,500 per hour for numerous errors committed in the few hours of service provided -- errors that badly impact the ''customer''s life for over a week. When we stack the performance of Tucker's people up against that of their counterparts in other medical practices or institutions, there is little comparison. Really, we can't blame Tucker's staff for being poorly trained or supervised, but they *could* have simply acted to help a fellow human being in clear medical distress. We will be looking for a more careful and compassionate doctor to complete the remaining surgical procedures that Tucker was to have performed. We've already transferred medical care for the post-op infection to Oregon Medical Group doctors. We are posting this review as a public service to other patients who might want to know these facts about this doctor's practice in order to better decide where to have surgery. read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but when it comes to your health and needing comfort/reassurance during tough times, it's important on how you're treated, especially when you're going to be spending thousands of dollars might I add. I went to Oregon Oral Surgeons ONE time and will never be going back. I've been to consultations before, and I've never been treated so poorly as I did when coming here. I was given a list of concerns my Doctor had for me to discuss with the surgeon due to one of my wisdom teeth being wedged up into my sinus which was causing sinus pain/headaches and another wisdom tooth which was extremely close to a nerve ( which could case paralysis to my face if hit). To sum it all up, I felt like I was just dollar signs. I was basically rushed out the door; so much so that one of the staff girls didn't even remove the blood pressure cuff off of my arm before leaving the room. Surgeon comes in ( Tim Tucker ) didn't introduce himself ( had to do research) , shake hands, or even look me in the eyes. Disregarded all my questions/worries. I was thrown random papers of instructions for day of surgery and my prescription papers I didn't even know what for, along with him telling me he's just going to remove all my wisdom teeth and he doesn't promise me that all will go well and my sinuses could be fixed from the removal. Didn't even sit down and go over x-rays, didn't ask me a single question or address any of my concerns, but only glanced at my CT Scan, wrote things down and left the room. I was in so much confusion that I didn't even know if I was done or not. Was told they'd give me a call later to schedule a day and still haven't heard back. So disappointed and will be looking else where. Don't go here if you like being treated like cattle. read more

I was very nervous, but Dr. Allender's team was very caring and put all worries a side. The procedure was very fast and non invasive. And recovery has been a breeze. First of all I have a huge fear of dentists. That said, I have had the best experience with Dr Tucker. I had a tooth extracted, and then returned to have two implants. Throughout this process Dr. Tucker has been the ultimate professional, kind and caring. His assistant Aly is a sweetheart who also helped allay my fears and even hold my hand if I needed it. I am almost finished with the implant process and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Tucker. It has taken over a year and my wifes implant with crown has STILL not been completed. And this was just for ONE TOOTH!!. By contrast, a few years ago I had an implant and crown that took less than 3 months. There has been poor communication between Dr Allender and our regular dentist who has also had a role in getting the crown onto the implant. So far the cost has run close to $5000 for the one tooth and they are not even finished yet. Very unprofessional and we would avoid Oregon Oral Surgeons if you need an implant. read more
