12/08/2023 We wanted to add some lighting to our front and back yard. OOL came out and made some suggestions that seemed great to us. There was a slight delay in the install, because they have been very busy. Due to that delay our contact at OOL left the company. This resulted in some confusion on our particular installation. Kyle, the owner, stepped in and saw to it that our job got some extra attention. We were very impressed that he cared enough about his business to make sure we were happy with our product. When a company is growing it's easy for things to 'fall through the cracks'. I can see that Kyle is dedicated to quality and customer service. It has been over 6 months since Oregon Lighting installed lighting in our front and backyard and I feel confident in reviewing them with well-deserved accolades. Beginning with my initial outreach, Ryan was always timely and responsive which is a great reflection on how the company does their business. Honestly in this day and age, it feels nearly impossible to hire people to do work which is why we ended up reaching out to Oregon Outdoor Lighting even though we live in California. The initial plan was to hire Ryan to design the lighting layout and he would help find a local team to do the install. (Ryan flew down and back in one day, spending the whole day at our house doing onsite design.) Let me take a pause to say that having a outdoor lighting specialist design for you is an entirely different product than having a landscaper install low voltage lighting. I knew I was willing to pay for the design aspect. And the design is phenomenal. As it turned out, despite his connections, Ryan couldn't find a local person who would return his calls either to do the install. But instead of leaving me hanging, we arranged for an install crew team to drive down from Oregon to Californian. During the install week, the team of two arrived on time and worked hard from early in the morning until late in the afternoon daily. They cleaned up at the end of every day so you couldn't even tell they had been there. They stayed an extra half day when I requested some add on's mid-week. We had two nighttime walk throughs on the last two nights so adjustments could be made. When they accidentally hit a sprinkler, they fixed it. They made sure everything was functioning before they left. Two weeks after they left we had some heavy rains and the lights flickered a bit and one day they didn't come on. When I reached out to the installers and Ryan, they all had suggestions that fixed the problem temporarily but when it happened again, they suggested I call an electrician because they had thought one of the outlets was faulty during the install. Indeed that turned out to be the problem, I just wished they had informed me when they suspected that during the install. Since then, we've encountered quite the historic series of atmospheric rivers (which also led to power outages) and despite all this, when the power returns, the lights come on every evening and turn off every morning. I'm so pleased every time I drive home or peer into my yard. Would 100% do it again. P.S. I have this incredible admiration for outdoor lighting design now. Driving by other homes, I realize what a difference it makes. read more

We paid this company thousands of dollars to do work at our Portland house. Now that we have moved, we asked them to give us an estimate at our new house. They came out, took some notes and said they would send an estimate. When I didn't hear back after a week I called and they said they would get back to me. Called a second time a week later and got the same response. Still no response almost 3 weeks later. Terrible company! Zero stars read more

This is a follow-up to my review from 9/4/22. After noticing my review, I was contacted by Kyle who arranged to meet me in person to discuss the issues we were having with our lighting installation. He promptly arranged to address the issues and will have his crew return not only to address them but also to return later when the rains come regularly if I continue to have problems. It costs time and money for a business to do the right thing. They understand that their best advocates and customers are the customers they already have...We can all learn something from their forthright customer service. read more

Their lights are beautiful and staff is very friendly but they are very expensive. Their quality is terrible! For a $70,000 yard lighting system, one would expect it to last years but instead it bonked out after a few months. Getting a service call to redo the wiring correctly is very slow. Expect to wait a week to get a future date for a service call that may result in a "no show" and apology. I cannot recommend them. read more

We installed new path and tree lighting in the front yard, and around the pond in our backyard. Oregon Outdoor Lighting did an amazing job and they take customer service to a whole new level! Ryan Schulze, Design and Sales Consultant, is the consummate professional. Ryan was extremely knowledgeable and patient. He worked with us to figure out different options to stay within our budget. He made us feel very confident in our decision to choose OOL for our lighting project. Courtney Villanueva, Office & Finance Coordinator, followed up within a day of signing the contract to schedule the job. She called the day before the installation to confirm. The installers showed up on time and worked hard throughout the day to get the job done. They were professional and very friendly. We had an issue with one of our existing lights a couple of days after the installation of the new lights. We called Ryan and he came out right away to take a look and had his crew back within 24 hours to fix the problem. Most companies can learn a thing or two about customer service. Oregon Outdoor Lighting has it figured out! Hands down one of the best buying experiences we've had since moving to the area five years ago. read more

The product is very well made and comes with a 20 year warranty! (I don't know of anything these days that comes with such a great warranty.) I don't usually write reviews because honestly, most businesses don't deserve the accolades. These guys do. Ryan is great.. you actually get to see exactly the way your yard would look before you buy the lights. That's a lot of work at night for Ryan but it makes a huge difference for the customer. Once I was able to see what my backyard looked like with their lighting.. I was hooked. The installation was flawless... I couldn't even tell they were there. But my favorite thing about doing business with these guys is that they stand by their product. Anything goes wrong.. they are there to fix it, no questions asked. And the crew that comes out to do the work is great. Courteous, polite and good at what they do. Sure, you could find a less expensive solution. But for the quality, service and piece of mind... In a year where it's been tough to schedule contractors in Portland, Oregon Outdoor Lighting was a welcome surprise. Kyle responded immediately to my inquiry, showed up that week to check out my job and give me an estimate, and came back in the evening so my husband and I could evaluate the quality of the LED light - which is GREAT, warm and lovely, in spite of my initial skepticism. OOD had good choices to fit my budget and style requirements and the install was flawless - on time, completed as scheduled, and most amazing of all the install did not do a bit of damage - NONE! - to our landscaping. Kyle and the team at Oregon Outdoor Lighting did a tremendous job with our lighting. They provided a very quick response to my email and set up a visit to our house for the next week. Kyle understood exactly what we needed and provided us multiple options to meet those needs. He brought over lights for me to look at when I was having trouble deciding with the pictures online. The installation crew was extremely knowledgable, professional and friendly. One of the members had helped design some of the newer inground driveway lights that we chose. There were no issues with installation and the clean up with spotless. We and our neighbors absolutely love the new lights. They installed driveway, spotlights on the house and path lighting. We chose a little more expensive styles but the prices did not seem to be out of sync for the quality and durability. If there are any issues, they will return and take care of whatever problems arise. We would highly recommend them! read more
