These people and Dr. Hanson are fantastic; I called and they got me in on the day that worked best for me w/all my other doctor appointments. Because I didn't fill out the pre-paperwork(was in my Spam and I didn't see it)they were able to still get me in even though by this time I was late for my scheduled appointment. I was there mostly for indentation for a missing "partial" and they explained a number of different kinds that I could have which amazingly included one that you don't have to take out while eating....YEA....Courtney at the front desk is a magician w/the insurance and I'm looking forward to coming here even though my previous(who just left the state)I'd been w/for 30+ years and it was only a mile from my house. I had the pleasure of receiving my first treatment at the Oregon Smile Care Center today. I was warmly greeted by at the reception. The waiting room is well appointed with comfortable chairs and bottled water and coffee. The wait was short and 100% on time for my 1250 appointment. Becca was my hygienist. Her chairside manner was very professional and her care first rate. She was extremely thorough with her examination including x-rays, charting my teeth, and cleaning. I was extremely satisfied with my first visit and look forward to receiving care from Becca & Dr. Hanson (who was also very nice and personable). read more

This business was a PPO with my dental plan. I had seen a specialist outside my plan who said I needed a root canal so to save on expenses I contacted Smilecare to see if they did root canals which I was told yes they had 2 people that did. I dropped off my 3d images to see if I could set up procedure. I was told I had to have an appointment to check out work necessary. I went in for appointment and they were more interested to know if I would become a regular client. They then said I needed an xray even though they had 3d image which is more detailed. I said I saw no reason to do xray and they said because insurance approved it. I said that isn't right if it's not needed. The employee checked with dentist who said take xray. I saw a dentist not either of the 2 who did root canals. She determined they couldn't do root canal. What a waste of time, insurance benefits and longer time to be in pain. read more

I'm always nervous around the dentist and Dr. Afshar was able to really make me confident and comfortable in the chair. In fact I'm so nervous that I drive from Eugene just to see him in Salem. He and his team were able to help my cracked tooth that other dentists told me needed to be removed and implanted. He took his modern education and was able to perform a crown for a fraction of the cost that other dentists wanted thousands to do. He is a bit of a perfectionist and made sure my impressions were perfect before cementing my permanent crown in place. He also had to do a root canal and I could not believe how fast and painless the process was. Apparently he is know for his speed and precision with root canals. I really appreciate all the staff at Oregon Smile, Dr. Afshar and his team are excellent and highly recommended. read more

I have reviewed this practice in other formats. But they didn't allow me to add additional posts. I wanted to comment on Doc Sean. He did fine work on 3 composites. One was tricky and dislodged and fell out. Sean repaired it without any problems or attitude. No one of the staff made me feel badly or acted put-out that I came back for a repair. Then, about a month later, I felt that 1) either one of his composites came loose or 2) a previous composite from a former dentist came loose. I called to check if the tooth I suspected was one of the ones he had recently done or repaired. The office booked me with an appointment. I went in and everyone was pleasant as usual. When I saw the assistant, Tawny, she was new to me. She had had a conference with the Doc before the appointment check. I explained that I wasn't sure about the tooth, it's potential history with the Doc, or even if there was a problem. I felt very badly about coming in again. She told me that if this were the same tooth that he had previously repaired, we'd do an X-ray and determine another treatment plan to fix the tooth once and for all. She was so friendly and made me feel less badly telling me that I was never bothering them. No one acted perturbed or negative about me coming in on a possibility of an issue. Turns out, the tooth was fine and so was the composite. Just a slight ledge on the tooth and some stain made it appear to me worse than it was. When I went to the front desk and asked for the charge amount, she told me that there was no charge for the visit. I learned that this place deals with people and potential problems kindly and promptly, offering solutions without making the patient feel guilty when a matter arises. Not every company treats you well when a matter arises. That's why I wanted to write commending the staff. read more

I just switched to Oregon Smile Care Center and had my first appointment today. I haven't been to a dentist in a year and a half and anticipated discomfort given the additional plaque build up. Shockingly, it was one of my more gentle cleanings thanks to the hygienist Ashley! She was friendly, pleasant, professional, and clearly knowledgeable. The doctor was in and out like usual so I didn't get much of a feel for him but I'll happily return thanks to the Ashley and highly recommend! read more

This was no doubt about, the most pleasant dentist office I have ever been too! I was out camping at Detroit lake and had my front tooth chipped. I called them and explained the situation and they made time for me to come in that same day. The entire staff was super friendly and made me feel at ease once I was there. The dentist that worked on my tooth ( I think his name was Darr ) was awesome! He took the time to make sure that I was 100% satisfied with my tooth and that it looked absolutely perfect before I left. I really appreciated that! His dental assistant Wendy was very sweet, cheerful and friendly! There is a great team environment and atmosphere there among the staff. Being a member of the Boomer generation, I have had a great deal of experience with dental offices. Dr Hanson and his staff are the best in their field. Everyone is so warm, knowledgeable and professional. Their equipment and techniques are state-of-the-art. My hygienist, Julie, was very skilled and personable. The waiting area is beautifully furnished, so I was very comfortable as I waited a brief period of time for my appointment. Had a problem with my teeth. I did get the one dollar deal they offer. I was very impressed with that process. I was impressed from the time I arrived to the time I left. I needed help and I wanted it as soon as they could manage. I got three fillings and a root canal and crown. At every stage I was treated very well -exceptionally. In fact I hugged Dr Hanson after he completed my first three fillings and I am not a "huggy" person. I then had a root canal and yesterday the crown. Every stage was done very well by all staff that I came into contact. I recommend this dentist and five stars is not enough I give them ten stars. read more

After dealing with several terrible dentists, Dr. Hanson is a totally new experience. He's friendly, efficient, and obviously cares about the quality of his work.
