My wife just treated me to dinner at the Oriental Cafe. The sesame chicken was excellent, as were the steamed dumplings. The portions of the chicken were HUGE! (Unfortunately, the fried rice was still blaaah) We could not finish the chicken, so we took it home and it became dinner for tonight. So, skip the fried rice and order something else. I usually go to Great Wall on veterans but they dont deliver. This place here delivers. It took about 45 minutes for my food to arrive which is the equivalent of pizza delivery service. I called in to place my order. The food is okay. I ordered the vegetable fried rice. I wouldve preferred different mixed vegetables. My wife and I eat here quite regularly. We really enjoy the food and the prices are very reasonable. We try to eat there at lunch as they have quite a few selections on the lunch specials, that includes soup, spring roll and drink with your entree and rice. We have eaten there in the evening as well and the prices are higher but within the norm for Chinese restaurants. My daughter and grandson enjoy their sushi as well. They do have a delivery service but unfortunately we live outside their delivery area. Give them a chance if your are near by. This is the last stop on my restaurant tour of possible Chinese delivery restaurants to replace the House of Lu III. Sad to report that this one did not make the grade. We ordered chicken lo mein, sweet n sour chicken and house fried rice. The food we received was tough almost to the point of being inedible. Even the youngest in our party - who will eat pretty much anything you slap in front of him - said the sweet n sour chicken was "gross." My booski said his rice was crunchy in several places. He wound up running out to get Popeye's fried chicken for all of us instead. I think pretty much all of our dishes were reheated in a microwave or had been sitting out for several hours before making it to our door. My coworker spoke highly of this place. I stopped by and caught their lunch special for $5.95 on a Saturday if you go before 3 pm. I got the food to go and order Honey Chicken. I returned to pick up my order and the dude was very unfriendly. I checked my bag before leaving as I always do to ensure I have what I paid for. I was given only 1 package of soy sauce when I asked for the dude had a nasty attitude. Got home and tried the food, it was very plain and was given plain rice. I have two favorite Chinese restaurants in Austell and the Oriental Café is one. The food has always been good, and I like that they have different menu items than the other Chinese restaurants. I would give them a five star rating but the service is not consistent although lately it has been getting better. They are usually pretty good about getting your order and getting it to the table but on several occasions they have forgotten to come back to see if we needed anything or to refill drinks. Overall, the décor is pleasant, the food good, and the restrooms clean. read more

While I enjoyed the sesame chicken and beef and broccoli. My sushi was not fresh. Dare I say that there was the slight fishy smell & discoloration that IS NOT present with FRESH FISH. Saw Garrett's review and knew I had to try this place. Spent $34 and brought a crap load of delicious, hot, well prepared food. We live in Powder Springs so when it comes to delivery, Dominos is your only choice. But I came across this place (and saw the pictures, I love pictures) and placed an order immediately. I ordered won ton soup, house fried rice, sweet and sour supper thing (it's chicken, pork and shrimp instead of just chicken), and chicken wings. I know it's a lot but I couldn't pin point what I had a taste for and as you can probably see from my review history, if we try a place for the first time, we're ordering all over the menu. The wait was roughly an hour. Not too bad considering that we aren't exactly down the street from this place. The delivery guy was super friendly and everything was packaged perfectly in a bag. No leaks, no funny smells, no greasy mess. Won ton soup - I'm almost sure that the dumplings are hand made. I was impressed. Sweet and sour meal - Now I steer away from heavy carbs so I was a bit disappointed that these were breaded (I didn't know, don't shoot me). Thankfully for them, I was hungry, so I ate it. It was actually pretty good. I personally wouldn't have it again because of the breading but it was wonderful golden brown, not greasy, and tasted pretty fresh. Chicken wings - On the small side but deeeeelish! They mistakenly gave us an extra wing, but I'm not complaining lol Would definitely order these again. House fried rice - I left these for my husband. He loves to drown his rice in soy sauce so after he realized that there were only 2 packets in our order, he was disappointed and refused to finish the dish. I know, I know, he's a weirdo. Ugh! I don't know how this place got so many stars. I stopped in tonight to order takeout. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and Mongolian Beef. I ate one piece of the tuna roll and threw it away. The tuna was mush. It tasted like they put canned tuna in a blender and mixed it up with sauce. The Mongolian Beef wasn't any better. The beef was soft and mushy and there were way to many onions in the dish. It was mainly onions with a few strips of mushy beef. I paid 18.00 for this mess. What a waste of money. read more

I moved in the area about 3 years ago and discovered these guys. They're pretty good, very prompt on the delivery service (usually earlier than the 45 min they give you) and the food is always delicious! I've eaten inside the restauraunt once and it was a very pleasant experience. One guy who works there, who's been a delivery guy for awhile but is now working management there, I know pretty well and is a real delight. Instead of him delivering, he takes calls and manages the front end, so when I call for a delivery, I know him right away and we speak like old friends. Good guy. Good food. Good ppl. I've never once had any real disappointments. I give 4 stars because though it's an excellent restauraunt, there ARE places in Atlanta that DO serve REAL authentic ingredients, like Water Spinach, Chinese Broccoli (Kai-Lan), etc., but, these guys are above adverage for the adverage Chinese restauraunt, and for above adverage, they're EXCELLENT. They also offer a huge menu of delicious Sushi (many entree's of which I have tried and are absolutely delicious!), and even a few Curry/Thai-like dishes. They are definitely "above adverage," but the first Chinese restauraunt in Marietta that starts serving real, authentic Chinese & Asian ingredients you can normally only get at Harry's Farmer's Market or at an Oriental Market, will get my 5 star rating for taking THAT chance on authenticity! ~wink~ read more

You know, I saw that this little restaurant had only 1 review so I thought I would give them a little help and add my own two cents. I ate at this restaurant with my mother last fall while I was on my bi-yearly visit with her, and we just kind of lucked into it. We had originally planned to go to Chili's, when we passed by this one and I asked my mom if she'd been there and she said "No, why don't we try it?", so we did. We were pleasantly surprised...and I was very happy that they have a dual Chinese-Japanese menu. Mom had the Chinese lunch special, I think she had Egg-Foo Young, and I had the Japanese lunch special, Tempura and Sushi. Both were very good. I have to agree with the previous reviewer that touting themselves as "Gourmet" might be stretching it a bit, but the food was quite tasty, the restaurant clean, pretty and pleasant. The only minus was that our watiress was a bit on the reserved side, not unfriendly, but not friendly either. A bit off-putting, but maybe she was just shy, who knows, but that kept me from giving them a 5 star rating. I'll be back in Marietta soon, though, and mom and I will give them another shot for sure. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS!!! I have been going to this restaurant for 4 yrs. I recently made a large order and the lo mein was completely disgusting so I called them. The person who took my order said I have a credit on file under my phone number, I said ok. A credit means your account is given a monetary amount. So I call today to place an order and ask how much my credit is and the same person tells me the restaurant will REPLACE what I got days ago. WHAT!? A credit is not replacing, a credit is a discounted amount. The lady wouldn't listen and told me I didn't understand. Woooow. Really??? Oriental cafe does NOT have any integrity as a business or customer appreciation. Mind you. They have messed up my order before and gave me wrong orders too, but I overlooked it. But never again. The time is currently 9:05 and I still have not revived my food. I won't be ordering delivery for a while now. I recommend actually going to the place to pick up or dine in. This is the BEST Chinese cuisine in Austell and Atlanta! Unless you want to drive to P.F. Changs and spend more money. What a great place! I came here for lunch and they're lunch special is quite cheap. You get a lot for a such a small price. I got the lunch special which included a drink, wonton soup and chips, chicken entrée with rice and spring roll. I also got potstickers to-go and my total for everything was only $12. All my food came out fresh and quick and my server was amazing! She was very attentive and courtesy. I would recommend this place! 10/10 read more
