We walked in off the street mid-afternoon on a broiling day and got right in. The place was sweltering hot and we had to ask repeatedly to get the air turned on. The room was nothing special, the linens were rough and worn, and, to be honest, the whole place smelled like mildew. The massages were utterly routine. We could tell the women had memorized a massage and were doing it exactly in sync, with no concern for our physical needs or knots. Twice one of the women stepped out to take a phone call (she was also working the front desk) and then took another call while doing the massage. Totally unprofessional. I've been going to Oriental Orchid for almost 15 years and have seen four sets of owners come and go, and now that Anna has taken it over it's the best version of the business yet. Anna and her expert stable of therapists have single handedly revived this business by literally just being SO GOOD. It doesn't matter which therapist you get, they're all incredible and give what anywhere else would be a much more expensive service. The prices are so reasonable that I can go once a week, which I feel is a necessity, not a luxury! The spa is busier now that it has been in years past, so I recommend calling ahead if you can, but sometimes I still get lucky and can just pop in at a moment's notice. I will start this review off by saying I love getting a good foot massage and get one almost weekly. Having moved to Burbank, I have tried a few of the Asian foot spas in the area but we're disappointed... but this place does not disappoint. I had Dillon and he most definitely gave me one of the best massages I've ever had in my life. The combo started off working the back and shoulders then my legs and calves. Then I was flipped and he did a scalp massage before doing the feet. It was sooooo good. I will definitely be back! Please remember to tip well. I really enjoyed my first experience there. I went in for a full body massage and requested a female. She was able to accommodate my request and asked if a male could do my feet, because she was off, but she would stay to do my body massaging. which I was fine with since a female was able to do my body. For father son bonding time I paid for an hour session for my teenage son and I. Before it began, I requested that my son had the woman do his and the male do mine because I wanted more pressure. They completely ignored this request so we just went along with it. During the massage their door bell rang multiple times consistently disrupting the peace. They spend lot of time just rubbing you down for an entire hour and not really hitting pressure points didn't feel any different once our time was up. Wasn't really worth the $ and my tip reflected that. I spent a total of $87 for the hour (tip included) After writing my tip in, we were harassed by the man of the shop (who was also the 1 of 2 persons who gave us the massage) He pressured me to leave a bigger tip. I politely replied "that's all I have" and this man became so rude to us. Told us to never come back and even followed us outside disrespecting us in broken English. I didn't engage, My son and I kept quiet and walked to the car. He followed us all the way to the car and knocked on my window while the car was moving as I was trying to drive away. Real harassment at this point, I didn't know what this man was capable of. He crossed the line and he really wanted to get a reaction out of me. If I would have reacted it would have went downhill (for me of course). So I kept composure and pulled off. What went from a mediocre massage turned into straight up bullying. I wish I never left a tip or even went in the first place, a disaster. Safe to say as a Black dude, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this business to anyone anywhere. read more

Wow, I can't believe I never reviewed this place before! I've been in a handful of times and have really enjoyed my experiences. I have had multiple massage therapists there and everybody seems great! Parking is on the street and since this spa is located on the corner you can either park on Magnolia or Glenoaks. There is always a spot closeby that I can find. When I come in I am always greeted by a kind gentleman. I usually call ahead of time to make an appointment and they always seem able to get me right in. The place itself is very cute. It's dim-lit and there is soft music and the gentle sound of running water (I think they have a water fountain inside) which is very relaxing! There are multiple rooms and I always go for the cheapest option (their $25 foot massage) so I am placed in a room with about a half dozen other beds. Each room I've been in is very clean and organized. Recently I purchased a gift card for buy 5, get the 6th massage free. I paid cash (I think they charge for credit cards) and have already gotten 2 massages since then. It's so convenient to just go in with my card and tip $ ready to go. The beds themselves are very nice, but since I am so short (5' 3") I have a bit of a difficult time laying down flat with my feet soaking in a water tub while my head is massaged. The last time I was here I asked the lady if I could get another towel to put under my knees to help and she got one right away for me. That was perfect! If I laid flat for a long time I would end up with lower back pain because of the uncomfortable position and who wants that during a massage? Everyone I've met there speaks great English and they are all so nice. One lady, Helen, who I have seen a couple of times recently moved away, so I was bummed. However, I went in and saw Kiley and she was also great! I have also seen a man there, I think Tim was his name, who was also awesome, but I don't know if he works there or not. They do not talk much during the massage and try to keep it quiet for the customers. I've been to similar places in the past were the massage therapist would chat the entire time during my massages, which is so distracting. So, if you are looking for a nice massage that will not break your budget I highly recommend this place! They are always courteous and they do a great job. Today was my first time coming to this place. After I checked it out in advance and liking the ambiance, I decided to change places. Since I am no longer able to be accommodated at 5 star. This is my new place. The room is more personal with only 3 beds at a time rather that like 15 at the other place . More personal. My guy actual did a great job. ( He usually is the one making most of the appointments in the day. I will ask for him again . The pressure was perfect. I like the beds better and they sit up all the way if you don't like to lay down. You can choose your comfort level of sitting up . I asked for mostly foot massage instead of a combo. So I saved 5.00 . That was a nice surprise. I will edit my review once I give them a chance to work on me 3 times to get to know what it is I like. Once they have it down. I'll be a reqular for sure.
