Had some hits and some misses when visiting this super buffet over the weekend. The highlights: the sheer size of the buffet. This restaurant has at least 2-3x as many food options as my local Chinese buffets. The variety was good, with American choices mixed in with the oriental ones. They also had a pretty decent dessert selection (ice cream, cookies, pudding, fruit, jello, apple pie, etc.), which isn't usually the case with Chinese buffets. The lowlights: the building is dated along with the decor, the bathroom, and the furniture. The utensils are located up at the salad bar. So, if you were expecting them to be brought to you with your drinks, you'll be taking the extra trip back up front while your plate gets cold at the table. I loved the fish tank at the front and a lot of the chicken options. The green beans and broccoli were fresh and crisp. The apple pie rendition was good, but the banana pudding had a strong artificial taste. The host was friendly, as was the woman who walked us to our table and brought our drinks. Fried rice unlike any I've ever tasted before and simply disgusting. General tso chicken over sweet and has the kick of a dead horse. Fried pot stickers or wontons were decent. White rice looks more like paste than anything edible. Pork egg roll soft and greasy not a good taste. Overall not worth the $20 they charge. Store bought microwave asian food has much better taste than this. read more

Terrible. First, it's hard to tell by the photo but the pot came out dirty. I could feel all the grunge on it. nasty. Then the food was tasteless/bland and didn't appear to be kept to the proper temp. Health department should check it out. I didn't have high expectations but this didn't even hit my low end. I thought I could find something ok. I tried a lot but I couldn't take more than a bite of any item. I was there less than 10 minutes before walking out. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go out to eat.... Story time....It took my ex husband 5 years to get me to finally go inside and eat.. let me explain a little...I don't care for Chinese food, so a long story short my ex husband would come here & get take out and I would eat somewhere else. One morning he talked me into going inside, saying babe they have American food as well. Needless to say I'm glad he did convince me to go inside because this is my favorite restaurant to eat at. The service when I go is always nice everybody I know who works there knows me when I go in. The food is always fresh and it's not you tell them and they bring out fresh it's always stocked if something runs low they get it back out there. If you looking for both Chinese and American food this is the establishment you would wanna come checkout and please leave your waitress a tip they are constantly on the move. read more

I don't expect great food from a chinese buffet. Having said that, this is the worst I've been to in a long while. Yes, it is a huge buffet. But food quality and flavor is poor. We kept returning to the buffet line in hopes of finding something good but only the pizza slices and mashed potatoes and gravy were decent. And the pigs in a blanket were ok. But the traditional chinese dishes looked old, were bland and unappetizing. Not worth the $36 we paid. read more

New try for me, have seen this as I passed by on 70. Large buffet, cleaner than most. Good selection and variety of food. Good service, drinks never ran empty and plates never piled. The care and attention to the buffet was better than most. No food particles or sauces strung around the bar area. Pretty busy which is a good sign for a Chinese buffet. Quick turnover of food and fresh items brought out quickly. read more

This chinese food is edible, and not too overly priced at lunchtime on a weekday. But buyer beware, you'll encounter some crusted over food at those times. Especially if you happen to like stuff that not many other people like. It'll sit there until it looks mummified. However, it's worth the risk occasionally as, sadly, it's the only buffet in Zanesville. read more

I've upgraded this to a 4. The food seems better than the last two times I was here. I feel like my first review spurred some improvements. Overall a decent selection. Lo mein was great, and all of the chicken dishes were good too. Sushi was better but still meh. Carpets still need cleaned badly. Everything else was clean, and the service was friendly. Poorest excuse for a Buffet I have ever eaten at in my life. The salad bar was a joke, huge chunks of iceberg lettuce centers. All the vegetables were cut way too big 2 to 3 inch thick slices of cucumber only three dressings, Italian thousand Island and ranch. all the chicken entrées were over cooked and tasteless. Ate there for first time in 8 months. Wife likes Chinese Buffets so figured I would take her. It had about 20 cars there, about 6:30 in the evening. I've always felt place is dirty. Carpet gross, glass or handles on doors never clean. Hoped I could overlook. Saw food was full. Lots of choices as always. Started putting white rice on plate. Old and fresh food is just mixed. Discolored and dried out along with fresh is what I'm saying. Same with rest of food. I ate one plate. I informed my wife never again will I walk thru these doors. After our last 4 attempts to TRY her dad's favorite buffet from several years ago, we know it will never get better. read more

The place has lots of food for selection from frog legs to salmon and lots of deserts. The only thing I didn't find was special fried rice they had yellow rice instead. The place has plenty of parking and it's centrally located within the city. The staff was really friendly and super fast service. read more

Why do I fall for all you can eat buffets? I usually know better and hate every single one of them, but sunday we were on a roadtrip and I had a BOGO coupon for the buffet and being that kinds cost $2 to eat here, we paid $12 for 3 people to get stuffed and feel sick all day! It is one of the largest buffets I've seen and the strangest/sickest combo at that! They serve the usual chinese fare, along with tons of fried foods (chicken nuggets, fries, fried shrimp, pizza, garlic bread etc.) Pretty much any food you can imagine they have at this buffet, including crab and frog legs! WTH, really? I steered clear from all things with legs, but my husband and son tried them and said they weren''t good. Some people came just for the crab and loaded up plate after plate, for $10 thats not a bad deal I guess. Tons of soups, salads, a large dessert table, it is all there, but everything was rather cold, just not fresh or tasty. Inless you are going to be without food for a week, there is no need to go here, yuck! read more

I have been here many times and the food is just okay. Yesterday, half of the food looked like it had been sitting out all day. The service here is also just okay. They clear old plates in a timely manner, but do not interact with customers. Also I felt very rushed out. before we even finished our first plates, the check was brought to us. A great selection of food and restocked often. The price is average and competitive and that is a plus. If you like desert, they offer a good selection. American food is also available. There was nothing particularly bad nor really anything special on the good side. It was solid, basic Chinese buffet fare. There is plenty of it, its hot, fresh (at least the time we were here). If there were 2.5 stars that's what I would score it. The people are nice, especially the young "local girl" hostess. I have experienced better- but I have travelled the world, so a lot of opportunity. For example Dim Sum in New York City, in a little place that was packed with ethnic Chinese, speaking the languages. So of course I don't hold everything to that standard. Helped my folks move some stuff to their cabin this weekend. In doing so, we rented a U-Haul truck for a one-way trip to Zainesville. On our way in, we crossed the infamous "Y" bridge which was interesting. We also passed the Oriental Super Buffet. Once we returned the truck, we decided to hit up the buffet on our way out. When we went in, we were promptly seated and our drink orders were taken. We scoped out the buffets and it was apparent that there was some American fare as well as Chinese. I tried a little bit of everything, but my two favorite dishes were the salmon and the coconut shrimp. Also of note, the spicy mushrooms with chicken were very tasty. The food quality seemed good and the service was good. For fifty bucks, four of us ate, which is reasonable. Recommend! read more

THE. WORST. EXPERIENCE. OF. MY. LIFE!!!!! I don't even know where to begin. If I could give this place negative stars, I WOULD!!! But to be fair, let's begin with the good: *The fish in the fish tank is cute. And big. *The bathrooms were pretty clean. *There are A LOT of food choices. Yep, that's it! Everything goes downhill from here. *The food was luke warm- at best. *The server let my family sit there without refills for a looonnngg time. Only came to our table once... but even then, never took any dirty plates away. She walked past us at least 6 times and never even offered. I finally asked another server to take them for us. *The buffet was empty with no more food coming out for the evening (even though there were several hours til close) *The ice cream is self serving with the entire public dipping their ungloved hands in freezer-burnt ice cream tubs to be put into stale cones that not even my four year old son could manage to eat. Then, when we were handed our bill, which was wwaaaaayyyy more than the experience was worth (considering we were all still hungry), I told the server I was unhappy. I began telling her my complaints and she simply walked away. I was appalled. We waited 10 minutes (with four children) for a manager while our server ignored us for the rest of our stay. Growing increasingly agitated, I asked the previous server (who took away our dirty plates earlier) to please get the manager. 15 more minutes went by. At this point, I was infuriated. However, the server who had been helping my family fell with an unexpected seizure. My partner was the first to tend to her while I called 911. After she came to, the ambulance arrived and her mother escorted. Afterwards, I looked at my partner and asked what we should do about our service... our experience... the manager... the bill. That's when we went up front and sought out management ourselves. The Showdown: Management blamed the server who had just gone to the hospital, stating that she was responsible for tending to our needs. Meanwhile, our server denied being our server at all. She said that she was helping the other girl by serving my family because the other server was sick and she was doing her a favor. When trying to explain to the falsehoods of her story to the manager, the manager yelled at me and told me to stop talking. She said I "talk too much" and not giving her a turn. She additionally yelled at our real server and then told me, "I have educated her now. She understands she is wrong." Please pay the bill. She then pushed the bill to me, offering a $2.50 discount on a $65.00 bill!!!! Never. Ever. Ever. Again!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE! Oh My Gosh! Three or four years ago it was an average cookie cutter Chinese buffet. Now, however the only thing that was palatable was the butterflied shrimp, of course out of the box and baked on a cookie sheet. The General Tsos was the worst I've ever tasted and couldn't even cut through it with a fork as was the case with other chicken offerings. Flavor overall was bland. I went back with a new plate about three or four times, leaving 80 % on my previous plates.
