I went here with my co worker as a fare well lunch. He wanted something healthy and I did not mind healthy. You take your order at the front and they deliver the food to you. I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad. I got the greens and the sweet potato. It was very healthy and I enjoyed the dressing. The manager or owner came up to us and asked us if we liked it and jokingly I said I do not know I just ate the whole thing and she laughed. My favorite was the first bowl which comes with brown rice, spring mix tossed in red wine vinaigrette, cucumber, tomato, banana pepper, red pepper hummus + chicken, and it's topped with hot honey sauce, Greek yogurt sauce and house-baked tortilla chips. I'll give it 5 stars just for how good the toffee cookie is. The chocolate chip is alright. Kinda sad they removed the soda fountain and replaced it with olipop cans. I am having some health issues so I took off some things and added some things to accommodate my new diet. They did not listen to those modifications. Had to pick apart the bowl. Found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try when I was visiting Dallas. It was my first meal off the plane and I definitely needed that healthy meal. I ordered the Thai chicken bowl and one of the juices (I can't remember the name but it was a green juice). Both were delicious! The juice did keep separating so I had to continuously stir it which was a bit annoying, but the drink was tasty. I also had a side of fruit and the fruit was very fresh and quality. I do wish they would label the entrees or write the name of the person on it. I am a big fan of Original ChopShop. While this is not my primary location, I have stopped by here a few times for a quick and healthy dining option. As for entrees they have a nice variety of salads, sandwiches and protein bowls. The bowls, which have quickly become my go to are all served with roasted broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrots and mushrooms. There are several options for the base; a couple are included in the standard price (brown rice or sweet potato hash) while Forbidden rice or quinoa are available for an additional charge. My favorite entrée is the Red Chili Lime Shrimp Bowl with all veggies for my base. On my most recent visit, I decided to change it up and went with the Spicy Korean Steak Bowl which was equally as tasty. When it comes to beverages, they offer a variety of iced tea, craft soda and seasonal lemonades (strawberry/ginger is a favorite of mine when available). If you're looking for healthier options, they have cold-pressed juices and protein shakes/smoothies. If you're a coffee person like me, in addition to regular drip coffee they offer cold brew and the super tasty nitro cold brew. On my visits the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Similar to other locations, seating includes booths and tables/chairs. On my visits, the dining area is always very clean. Located in a strip mall, there is a shared parking lot along with street parking. I look forward to more visits to this location. A 4 out of 5 in my opinion may be higher or lower in someone else's opinion. A 5 out of 5 from me is rare and that's obviously flawless. The only downside is if you order online you only have 2 options for chips and the jalapeño chips nearly killed me (joking, but very spicy). I stopped at the Original ChopShop on Hillcrest, across from SMU. I ordered two grilled chicken Caesar wraps to go (that were $15 each). And when I got home, they weren't even wrapped, it was like someone dumped some grilled chicken and lettuce on tortillas, there were about 3-4 little diced pieces of chicken on each half, no dressing). I've usually visited their locations or ordered through platforms like DoorDash, but today I needed food delivered and ordered directly through their website. My mistake, at least according to the response at the store. They said that they are not responsible for the drivers (3rd party), and a driver had still not accepted picking up the order (it was already 20 minutes late for a meeting). First, you would think that if a driver had not accepted the order by delivery time they would have called to tell me. Second, you would think that the restaurant would take some responsibility since the delivery company is used when you order DIRECT through their website. Third, you would think they'd pick a delivery company that is more well-known. I've never heard of SkipCart, so I can only assume there's not a ton of drivers in the area and this happens a lot to their customers. One of the restaurant employees confirmed that this is an ongoing issue. Do something different, OCS. When my food was still not picked up at 20 minutes after the scheduled delivery time, I told the girl on the phone that I would have to come pick up myself. Ten minutes later, I got there and a delivery driver had picked up my food! They did not hold my food for me when I told them I was making the drive. They apologized but did nothing to compensate for the insane amount of hassles and lateness for a delivery that I PAID for. I then drove back. The delivery driver was still not there? They were lost. I've ordered from the Original Chop Shop several times for business lunches (usually delivered). They have never disappointed, and my colleagues are always pleasantly surprised. On my last order, I had the Thai coconut chicken bowl with brown rice. The vegetables were fresh and well cooked, and the meat was tender and nicely seasoned. The coconut sauce had a great flavor. They have a nice selection of iced teas, including a seasonal flavor. With all the plastic that goes into ordering take out, it was nice to see that the food was delivered in paper bowls with utensils made from recycled materials. I love this place when i ordered online, I took my first trip to order inside and eat and had a horrible experience. The person who attended me was Jasmine m. She was so SO so rude. I didn't know how the process was of how to order since it was my first time inside and she treated me as if I was stupid. She was just flat out rude entire process, I didn't know I couldn't pay cash and gave me the dirtiest look just because I asked.
