I have been seeing this Original ChopShop for several weeks and decided to give them a try. Walking in I really liked the vibe of the place. It is really woodsy and earthy feeling. I also liked the feeling it gave me when I learned they are trying to deliver a healthier product than you get at most places. I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. I chose Jasmine rice as my base and grilled vegetables to be included in the bowl. What came out was really good, and I felt good after eating it too! The staff deserves mention here too. I interacted with three different employees during my visit and my interactions could not have been more pleasant. Oh my! This restaurant hit "yes" on all levels for me! It's casual but earthy comfortable. Meaning, it's the kind of place I really enjoyed sitting in the restaurant with organic foliage hanging on the walls, and a sense of casualness but a level up. The people working there were very patient with me as I had never been there before and had questions. They were competent and so nice. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl with rice and loved it. I've been a big fan of Original ChopShop since they arrived the DFW area ~5+ years ago. This location recently opened and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It helps that it is located next door to my favorite cycling studio (hello CycleBar Preston-Forest) so upon finishing a session there, I am able to walk next door for a quick and healthy dining option. As for entrees they have a nice variety of salads, sandwiches and protein bowls. The protein bowls are my go to; each comes with a protein of choice and are served with roasted broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrots and mushrooms. There are several options for the base; a couple are included in the standard price (brown rice or sweet potato hash) while Forbidden rice or quinoa are available for an additional charge. My favorite entrée continues to be Red Chili Lime Shrimp Bowl with all veggies for my base. That said, the Spicy Korean Steak Bowl is quickly moving up my list of favorites. When it comes to beverages, they offer a variety of iced tea, craft soda and seasonal lemonades (strawberry/ginger is a favorite of mine when available). If you're looking for healthier options, they have cold-pressed juices and protein shakes/smoothies. If you're a coffee person like me, in addition to regular drip coffee they offer cold brew and the super tasty nitro cold brew. On my visits to this location, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Like other locations, seating includes booths and tables/chairs. On my visits, the dining area is always very clean. Located in a strip mall, there is a shared parking lot along with street parking. I look forward to more visits to this location. The peanut sauce really pulls this together. A delicious healthy high protein meal that was light enough to enjoy on a sweltering day. This place is counter service and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is very bright and clean. I liked it so much that I went back 3 days in a row for lunch! The first day I ordered the hot honey chicken bowl, which seems to be a newer item on the menu. It was really good, but wasn't quite as healthy as I wanted so I switched it up the next 2 days. I went with the greek-ish salad and added a whole wheat wrap, which totally hit the spot and filled me up for hours. The line was a little long during lunchtime, but moved fast and they also brought out the food relatively fast. I see that the Big D is lucky enough to have many ChopShops. This restaurant is very cute. Located right across the parking lot from whole foods. They serve nutritious meals and freshly squeezed juiced which are incredible! I came here for dinner with my friend. The food was lukewarm like it had been sitting out for a while. The flavor was good and healthy but definitely not freshly cooked. My freshly squeezed juice took over 15 minutes to prepare but I think they forgot about my drink because I had to go ask where it was. Customer service was good; everyone was nice and the restaurant was clean. I'll be back for a salad or juice but not the food. I ordered the GF oatmeal cookie which was okay as well. So excited to have this place coming to the neighborhood! So much at this intersection has gotten stale and suddenly we have cool coffee places, healthy fast casual, etc. I was here by accident before they opened just looking in at the menu with my family. They had apparently just finished a bunch of training prep and had a ton of food they were trying to get rid of. We like to support local businesses and help them out where we can, so we took several bags of salads, sandwiches, and bowls off their hands. The acai bowls and protein shakes were fresh and delicious: big hits with our kids. The protein bowls -- green curry tofu, sweet soy sesame steak, and teriyaki chicken -- were delicious and feel good with all sorts of veggies. We also tried the Moroccan Turkey Sandwich and Veggie and Hummus Wrap. No misses on any of these. My wife is a vegetarian and found more than enough with tofu in it to satisfy her. We have eaten at some of their other locations before so the food quality was not a surprise. Staff was also very friendly and enthusiastic, especially Ethan (trainer from another store) and the Juan, the AGM. They have a beautiful patio which we look forward to enjoying once they are officially open. Can't wait to be same to eat here regularly! read more

Funny story: I drove in from Oklahoma and wanted a healthy lunch/dinner option and when this came up on Yelp, I literally yelped for joy. You see I just moved to OKC from the Los Angeles/Orange County area and one of my favorite, healthy and affordable lunch spots was in Santa Monica on 4th St Promenade and it was called ChopShop. It was a Vietnamese place that was setup "Chipotle Style" where you could build your own bowl or wrap. Sadly, it didn't make it so I nearly choked thinking "I didn't know that place originated in Dallas" and drove straight over. Needless to say this is NOT that same restaurant BUT I am still very glad I came. You cannot build your own but they do have a lot of Bowl, Sandwich, Wrap, Salad and Smoothie options from a set menu and you can ask for some customization (within reason). The staff was friendly and offered helpful suggestions. I ended up with a delicious and healthy bowl and they have a good variety of unsweetened ice tea options. The decor does remind me of a coastal kitchen type of place but based on some of the photos near the bathroom, I believe they may have originated in Arizona. read more

It was loaded with broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, sesame seed, and more. Over brown rice, it was so good. The lime cucumber lemonade was soooo good and refreshing. The menu was amazing. My first time here with a friend. We arrived at the counter 10:40 am to order two avocado toasts. The cashier looks at her watch to make sure that I'm still within the "before 11:00 breakfast cut-off" time (tacky and obvious). The seating area is very spacious and comfortable - so that's a major plus! Music too loud for a decent conversation, though. Food was delicious, BUT no milk for the coffee, and the girl behind the counter took her time to get some (was too busy chatting with a friend while 3 people stood waiting). Then the server brought the wrong dish to our table, and when we told her that we did not order that item, she quickly gave us a disappointed and disgruntled look and scuffed away - very unprofessional and rude when the mistake was not ours! (younger people really need a course on how to communicate with customers!) Lastly, the food comes on a platter with paper, so it's disappointing when breaking into an over-easy egg, which naturally drips down onto the plate can't even be absorbed and eaten off that paper - waste of my egg, thank you for that waste! Come on, some real dishes here and let's do away with the cheap, plastic cutlery to eat these meals.
