I went to Joeys for the first time last week and I really wanted to enjoy it because the food and atmosphere was so good! But our server was not the best. Her name was Whitney and she did not have the best attitude. I didn't care for my drink that much but instead of trying to listen to how I wanted it she was snappy and told me that if the bar remade it then it would just taste the same. Also, my food did come out cold the first time and when I sent it back to her heated up she was not very nice about it. I give her a pass because it was closer to closing time when my party sat down but honestly, it didn't matter if the atmosphere and food was good the second time it came out or not. Happen to have lunch here and due to my convo I didn't take a picture so let me give you the 411. Upon entering they gave my guys a champagne flute. Mid shelf champagne of course but very cool idea to be charitable. Totally forgot the servers name but she was great and very nice. Ordered an app, Korean fried cauliflower which was very tasty - so good It was lunch and everything on the menu looked fantastic so I opted for the chicken club sandwich.... Wow wow wow I don't know where to start! This place is true class. If there is a wait line, you get a glass of complementary champagne. My nephew ordered the Tuna Poké bowl, which he inhaled and said was absolutely delicious. I couldn't resist. I had the steak and ravioli. It was out of this world. The raviolis were homemade. They were not the big round ones like you get in the store. They were smaller squares. They were filled with some delicious filling, and I think it was record and mushrooms. I'm not sure and then there was shrimps on top and it was in a wonderful white sauce that tasted buttery and lemonade. It was delicious and then the steak the steak was sliced and cooked to perfection. It was great. We were scouting out this place because my sister and her husband, my nephew's parents, when they come into town, they want something good to eat. My brother-in-law is very picky so I had seen this place at the mall. I did a quick review on Yelp and saw that it had good ratings and I told my Nephew we have to go check it out. I'm glad we did. The house salad was impressive as it was tall - the ingredients are fresh as always. The low alcohol coconut smash should have pineapple nectar instead of pineapple juice to feel more festive but that's just my two cents. While shopping on a Friday night, we decided to check out Joey Dallas for a dinner before heading home. We were fortunate to have a relatively short wait (~35 minutes) despite not having a reservation. In the foyer, they were handing out champagne, which set a festive, welcoming vibe immediately upon entering. Although I didn't have any, it was noticed as a nice touch for the age appropriate adults who came in for dinner that evening. I liked the seating in the main dining room. A mix of cozy round tables that accommodate 4-6 people comfortably and some 2-tops where couples could sit together separated by space and not necessarily dividers. The vibe was energetic, but not noisy. A random unique touch was the purse/bag tree that they had next to tables where women wanted to hang their purses, leaving space for people to sit on seats. These stands were also a way to hang shopping bags for the NorthPark mall shoppers without creating tripping hazards. I had been to JOEY in downtown LA and had high expectations and JOEY Dallas didn't disappoint. Friday night, so it was really busy and service matched the level business. Not super fast but understandably so. Ruby was our server. A warm and friendly gal, who was knowledgeable about the menu making suggestions for us and our son. We ordered hibachi wings and our little guy had a plain cheeseburger and some french fries, to start. I also ordered the Sushi cone and had the JOEY classic steak plate for an entree. Skipped the desert. Everything was good, and the variety available ensured that everyone was satisfied. The steak was tender and tasty. The loaded potato sticks were, ok... just served below room temperature. And the broccolini was fresh. My son commented on the warm, buttery bun for his burger, so he was happy. Please note: the hibachi wings are tasty but definitely not spicy. Haha. Recap Food -8/10 Atmosphere-9/10 Value- 7/10 (no kid priced options, only kid sized portions at slightly reduced prices. Bear in mind that the target demographic is adults). Service- 7/10. Ruby was responsive, but the rating reflects the hostess team who initially tried to put my party, including a 6-year old, in the bar area, causing a significant delay. Would recommend - Yes. The service and food were all superb, my only complaint would be the light pours when making the cocktails. I will definitely return for the great service and food. This was a lovely surprise. We had to wait for our Apple appointment so we dipped in here. We were immediately greeted and offered a glass of champagne while we waited. But we never got to sit. We were whisked off to a table where we had the most personable server, Xoci. I'm probably butchering her name but I'd ask for her by name any time. We opted for a round of appetizers and everything was awesome! I it was the kinda good that makes you wish you weren't sharing. We had chicken wraps, bang bang chicken, and fried cauliflower. The decor was absolutely beautiful. There was an enclosed outer bar area. And a seating area close to the open kitchen. I'd love to watch the different plates come out and pick from them next time. The only reason I give this restaraunt a 3 star is because of the service. The server we had was extremely nice and accommodating. Other than the service and the steak and the Truffle Fries , the food was pretty bad. The wings were tough, the spaghetti was like chef boyardee. The tacos were below average. Mercedes was a wonderful server making sure all of our needs were met. There was a small hiccup in communication, however between Mercedes and Jackie, they got us taken care of. We ordered the crab dip - however it sadly was sold out by the time our order got placed - so we got the bang bang chicken, truffle fries, the French dip and the butter cake. Delicious is the only way to describe this. However they went above and BEYOND when they brought out a dessert for my mom . . . It showed me that they listen as I briefly mentioned my mother's name, that they care about the little moments as well as the big ones and they are serving delicious food. My partner and I first came to Joey a few years ago shortly after it opened, and we were blown away. Since then, it has always been a place for us to celebrate big milestones. The food is always excellent, and the vibes inside are lively. It's never too loud and the lighting is just right. I am also vegetarian, and I appreciate that the plant-based options on their menu do not feel like an afterthought- they are as well thought out as their animal-based options. This most recent time, our waitress, Santana, was also excellent. She even noticed we were returning customers and offered us a complementary dessert without us mentioning anything. We had reservations- they welcomed us and gave us champagne while we awaited our table - which was prepared swiftly despite the heavy crowd. Our table service started with our waitress- Dominica - whom greeted us and brought our menus and we reviewed and made some selections. Dominica was always there when we needed her / invisible but present when we needed something - which is a true talent. We started with the "spicy crab dip" which was true to its name and very pleasant. We had a beautiful red wine whom was opened tableside and served by their semolina - she was great and the wine was exceptional. Our mains were next. Unfortunately the POS system was down all day and Staff was having to manually put in orders and Good thing open table made week earlier because that's who was seated. Wasn't crazy busy for a Thursday, but a beautiful layout. Loved the decor. Food was amazing. Truffle fries were nothing to brag about but the dumplings were good. The sea bass is going to be a new seafood craving on a bed of vegetables and mushrooms. No peppers for me but truly outstanding. The chicken parm was well made as well. The chefs were working as best to be expected and very friendly for the unfortunate circumstances of hand written orders made within a decent time. I would've ordered desert but I was stuffed and didn't want more to carry. Perfect portions worth the visit. Lack of star when Manager didn't come to check on us after being asked, 2 servers for us two people was unnecessary having to repeat orders ect as well as entitled bar staff just for a polite request side of pineapple juice with 4 people not being tended to from the visual at our close seated view. Located right inside the northpark mall, this restaurant is phenomenal. Esthetically it's elegant, nicely decorated and sophisticated. You can definitely dress up when you come here. The food is absolutely delicious. All the items that we ate were cooked well and you can tell they use good quality ingredients. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star was the service. Our servers were not attentive and we had to constantly ask for help because they weren't checking on us. We ended up spending 2+ hours at the restaurant because of it which was a little too much. We had the classic sirloin steak, ahi poke bowl, spicy crab dip, tried the peach Bellinis (my new favorite), and cheesecake.
