Amazing! I dropped in to grab a quick lunch while in the area. After reading some of the reviews, I thought I'd give it a try. I was blown away. Clean and well laid out, this little food establishment has the right recipe for success. From the moment I walked in the door I could tell they knew how to treat customers right. I was greeted immediately when I walked in. One of the first questions was "have you dined with us before?" I said no, and the helpful staff led me through some wonderful options. From the reviews, I knew I had to try the lemon chicken Farro soup. I also ordered half of a turkey avocado salsa Verde sandwich. The combination was fantastic. The chicken broth soup with farro, spinach, chicken and carrots was delicious. I purchased two more bowls to go. The turkey sandwich was freshly sliced turkey, cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and a very light mayonnaise type dressing. It was grilled like a Panini making it warm, fresh, and delicious. I've already told my husband we will be going back again this week. I had a chance to visit with one of the staff and they told me a little bit about expansion plans for the chain. I'm looking forward to seeing more open in Texas. Definitely a great place for lunch or dinner. Order at the counter and then scan the QR code at your table with the number on your receipt. It's a fresh and very filling salad. The next day I tried the street corn chicken sandwich. I typically never eat sandwiches and if I do I will not eat all the bread. I attended the training event today and got the chimichurri steak and bacon sandwich with kale and apple rainbow salad and passion fruit black tea. The sandwich was so appetizing, little bit of crunch and full of flavors! The salad was also very flavorsome with little bits of everything mixed in, no wonder its called the rainbow salad! And the passion fruit black tea, wow it was so rich in good mixture of passion fruit and black tea! I usually like sweet drinks and this tea was unsweetened but I loved it! A tornado in 2019 hit the Preston Oaks Shopping Center destroying most of the businesses. Then the pandemic slowed the rebuilding process. Finally, where the former The Gap store once stood, we have Mendocino Farms deli sandwiches, soups, and salads. This new eatery opened Thanksgiving 2022 at 10720 Preston Rd, Suite 1002, Dallas, TX 75230, the Preston Hollow neighborhood. Easy to spot from Preston Road, on the front corner next to Hollywood Feed. Seating for 40, including outdoor tables on covered patio. 2 locking unisex restrooms with Koala Kare babychangers. Highchairs and Kids Menu make this a Mom Deli. Free parking in this shopping center, it was very busy 11AM Thursday. Grab a menu brochure from outside box. This is a counterserve Deli, they want you to scan your table # to input receipt # and staff will bring your order when prepped. The "Apple & Kale Rainbow Salad" was amazing, fruity yet balanced: Kale, granny smith apples, rainbow carrots, candied pecans, dried cranberries, toasted coconut, Thai basil vinaigrette. I was chomping & smiling, suddenly it was gone! I gambled on "A Sandwich Study of Heat" Shaved, roasted turkey breast, smoked gouda, smashed avocado, sriracha mayo, housemade jalapeno salsa verde, tomatoes, romaine lettuce (420 cal) on panini-pressed rustic white (320 cal). I asked it for takeout, and it was bagged like delivery, with a nice Tamper Proof seal. As I drove away, this Heat sandwich did not have Heat! They forgot the hot stuff. Well, it ate really well. I had subbed the white panini-pressed bread with artesan multi-grain wheat, which was excellent! Guac, actually "smashed avocado" was leaking out all 4 sides. Fun times, and tasty. Notes: Adult bevs on tap, 4 beers, 4 types of wine. Tables for 40 indoors, a dozen on patio. Soups are very zesty here. Natural pressed drinks look enticing (see my photos) Overall, a brand new super-clean place, with a big Deli menu, and super fresh ingredients. Price on the high side. Mendocino Farms is a Dallas classic! I have only places to-go orders but it certainly does not disappoint. The service was prompt and everything was neatly packaged. The food always feels fresh and tasty - I recommend the Chicken Pesto Caprese with the pesto pasta shells! The salads are a bit difficult to mix in the take out container but overall they are quite tasty! First time at Mendocino Farms and while the food was great, this review is solely for the service we received. HANNAH deserves a raise. Her customer service was above and beyond and unlike anything I have ever seen in the service industry. I came in with my mother and my son who is 18 months and the biggest little ball of energy. She immediately was so friendly with him and when we sat down to start eating she came back over to say hello. He immediately took to her and since he was not very interested in eating his meal, she started playing with him. He loved every second of it and as a mom of a toddler, I truly appreciated being able to actually eat my meal! Her kindness was so genuine and my son didn't want to leave. If I could ship her back to California with us I would in a heart beat. Employees like her who go out of their way to be kind and give customers a great dining experience are really hard to come by. Anytime we visit Texas and come to Mendocino Farms I'll be hoping to see her again! Mixed feelings. Panera vibe but more Boujee. I wanted soup and a grilled cheese and was told I couldn't because it was a kids meal item. I told them it's not different still a grilled cheese. After some hassle we just ordered a Kid's meal for my son and one for me. I let him have my apple slices lol. Fountain drinks were more unique and harder to find something to enjoy. Both have half the amount of meat than pictures shown on the website. Very generous with vegetables. I only saw 3 small pieces of pork belly in my order and one small chicken tender for my husband order. Hopefully they will reconsider the ratio of meat vs vegetables in theirs sandwiches. read more

One of our new favorite spots to eat lunch in Dallas. Great for pick up and eating on the road too. Lots of healthy options and good portion sizes. My kids love the chicken fingers and look forward to coming here for them when we come to Dallas. The only thing I wish they had were more side options for the kids meal instead of the sliced green apples. They never seem to taste good, so an alternative side option would be nice.
