Dined on a Saturday night. The staff is very friendly and welcoming along with being extremely efficient. The restaurant ambiance is warm, welcoming, and comfortable. All those things are great, but the food is why you want or be here. We started with the Oaks dip appetizer. Well seasoned and balanced; the Fritos really make it. It has a hint of horseradish, which my wife despises. This dish was different, she thoroughly enjoyed it. Meals include the Italian trio and a side of Mac n cheese. The fresh baked bread and perfectly cooked prime rib were the stars of the show. The relish is fantastic on its own, it's almost a shame that it's buried in the sandwich and not a standalone item to order. We also had the pork chop with creamed corn and grilled Broccoli. The pork was sweet , smoky and perfectly cooked. I loved the broccoli, the charcoal flavor really came through and was something I really enjoyed. We will be returning. read more

Bobbie's continues to impress!! This go around we started with the tuna tartare and the buttermilk biscuits. The biscuits are a MUST ORDER. This may sound silly, but this was by far the dish that impressed me the most tonight. The biscuits are served warm and are the perfect level of buttery and flaky served with butter and marmalade. For my entrée, I had the nightly special which was redfish. My dining companions ordered the rib eye, filet, and rotisserie chicken. The red fish hit the spot, but after trying everyone else's plates, here's my ranking: 1. Post Oak Ribeye - normally I prefer a leaner cut of steak, but this was incredible. I'm a huge fan of the seasoning and butter topping the ribeye! 2. Center Cut Filet 3. Rotisserie Chicken 4. Redfish To end the night we shared a slice of the chocolate pie! All of the food was really good but sadly the service was pretty horrible. Reservation was for 7:45 and we didn't get seated until 8:30. Ordered the biscuits for our appetizer, which were delicious, but we didn't finish them and were intending on taking them home, but they were taken off our table before we could say anything. The service with our server was also pretty slow, and it felt like we had to wait forever to even get water. At the end of the night, we find out that our card was actually used for a different table so our charge was much higher than our actually was. The manager come over and says it's fixed so whatever, but it kind of bothered me we didn't hear from our server about what happened at all. The reason they still get 3 stars is because they really did try to make it up to us, they ended up providing us 3 free drinks and dessert. For that, we were really thankful, but the experience just continued to feel like error after error. read more

We love Bobbie's, it's one of our go to places in Dallas. The service is always on point whether at the bar, dining room or patio. My favorite drink (Il Bracco), biscuits and Crab Cake in DFW area. Crab cake is very lightly breaded with succulent jumbo lump crab and a delicate creamy lemon butter. Same sauce used on their delicious redfish. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Lots to say here but I'll keep it brief. I love il bracco, the sister restaurant. I would choose it all day over Bobbie's. Which was disappointing since we had looked forward to it for so long. The ambiance is great but it felt the staff was underprepared for the amount of people and therefore became short with the patrons. It was very frustrating as we were paying to be there. We tried a significant portion of the menu (we had a party of 5 but I was only able to photograph a few items) and I felt the only thing worthy of having again was the fried oysters. It felt like all of the dishes were just over done? They just took normal dishes and over complicated them. The menu also failed to mention significant ingredients in the dishes -- such as, the cheddar dip we ordered having horseradish in it and cream corn with chives that weren't mentioned and the French dip having slaw on it . When we mentioned the frustration about not being informed about these things and our server claimed he also was unaware of the ingredients in the dishes. On top of all of it the place was so loud we could hardly hear each other around the round table. read more

Foodie Alert!! I recently visited Bobbies Airway Grill for a holiday dinner, and I must say, I was not disappointed with the food! The only downside was that the drink menu wasn't very extensive. I ordered the Westside cocktail, which is a mix of Tito's vodka, fresh lemon, and mint. It had a very bitter yet crisp flavor. We started with the Crispy Oysters, and every bite was bursting with flavor, served with a delicious flower street vinaigrette and a wedge of lemon. For the main course, I chose the juicy Jumbo Lump Crab, which was served over a lemon dill sauce with French fries. The portion was so generous that I even had leftovers! My friend ordered the Barbecue Pork Chop, which was a double-cut hardwood-grilled Duroc pork, accompanied by potato purée and creamed corn. For dessert, I chose in chocolate brownie à la mode. It was so yummy!! Overall, I would rate the service and ambiance a 4 out of 5. This was our fourth or fifth time at Bobbie's, and every time we love it. This was our first time on a Saturday night, and it was hopping when we arrived; very noisy and crowded. We had a reservation and admittedly it took a little time to be seated, but Jacob and the other hosts were very gracious and made up for any inconvenience. By this point, we've probably had most things on the menu but every time we go, we're so impressed with the skills of the kitchen. Everything is delicious. Went for birthday celebration with six people, several who had never been before. Service was somewhat disjointed, and although the evening started out well, it quickly deteriorated when 14 plates of food showed up all at the same time. There wasn't enough room on the table, nor could the staff reach, so they kept pointing and asking us to move things and give them things and combine things. Not the quiet, relaxing meal you expect when paying $800 for dinner. We ordered appetizers, salads, and entrées, all of which were delivered together. Service after we placed our order was very sketchy, and we had to wait over 10 minutes to get some additional chips for the ahi tuna. Refills on the non-alcoholic beverages were almost nonexistent, with us making various requests for water, tea, and soda. Loni, our hostess was most accommodating as we asked to be seated at bar instead of table we had reserved. Our servers Alyia (sp) and Deanna wet attentive, professional and well versed on their wonderful suggestions s. I ordered the redfish but they had some kind of issue with the sauce so I had to switch to grouper. No big deal. It also came with potatoes and a very interesting slaw and was fabulous. In the middle of north Dallas is an amazing restaurant in an old pharmacy. The make over is fantastic. Nice dark woods and comfortable chairs make this a go to spot We started with the tuna tartare and shrimp cocktail. I have not seen shrimp this big in a long time. The trout and salmon were both excellent and large portions. Certainly enough to split. The best was last. Incredible desserts. We had a warm brownie with ice cream and key lime pie. Currently, Bobbie's is one of the hot new restaurants and so expect a wait if walking in. Our first attempt to walk-in yielded a 2 1/2 hour wait, so we passed. This time we had a reservation for four and were seated at a nice table right away. We loved the ambiance and vibe of Bobbie's. They have a great bar area and could easily go back for just drinks and apps another time. The service was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, but consistent with several other Yelp reviews, it is pushy. Clearly, they want table turnover but hopefully the manager will change that policy as they seem to read Yelp. Our server wanted to take our food order immediately after we had been seated and had ordered drinks (the wine list is a bit pricey, but cocktail prices are reasonable). We politely said no that we wanted some time (and at least to get our cocktails first). At least three more times we had to tell our server no, we were not ready to order (all before the appetizers arrived). Each time she was fine with it and said no problem with a smile, but she kept after us. We liked our server, but the pushes were definitely a turnoff. The appetizers were all very good. We ordered the Oaks Dip (mayo based spicy sharp cheddar cheese dip with fritos) and the crispy oysters to share. Both were good, but just know the cheddar cheese in the dip is very sharp. Probably would not order the dip again for that reason. They oysters were perfectly fried and presented back in the shell. The order comes with 6 and they were delicious! The manager surprised us with an order of 4 of their biscuits. I am not a biscuit fan per say, but these were the best biscuits I had ever tasted. I highly recommend. They were the best of the three appetizers. The entrees were a mixed bag and nothing spectacular. My wife does not care for salmon and ordered the Atlantic Char. The fish is supposed to be a cross between salmon and trout and taste more like trout. It looked and tasted like salmon to both of us. She could not eat it. I love salmon and thought it was very good, but she just does not like salmon, so basically 2-3 bites. We asked the server after she tried it if it was salmon, and she said no, it was Char and explained it was a cross between Trout and Salmon. She should have picked up on the fact my wife didn't like it when asked at the beginning or noticed she didn't eat it during or by the end of the meal, but nothing was said or offered to change it out. The crab cake was said to be pretty good and very large. My friend had the tuna burger and did not care for it as very bland. He mentioned he didn't like it to the server, and nothing was said. All 3 orders of French Fries were very tasty but limp vs. crisp. I had the pork chop. It is an unusual cut and presentation (long with two bones at the end like a rib). It was the worst pork chop I have ever tasted (reminded me of the taste of a hot dog for some reason). It was very tough and not cooked properly as the very top was well done, but the meat at either end was rare. I maybe ate 4 bites. I did not mention anything to the server, but she probably should have noticed there were issues with 3 of our 4 entrees given how little was consumed. We were pretty disappointed, especially given the convenient location to us. If I go back, it will likely just be for cocktails and appetizers at the bar. read more

After having such a fabulous experience the week before, when I brought a 75 year old for her birthday, I chose to bring the 85 year old lady I care for, in for a late lunch. It was a beautiful day. Even though I had made reservations for indoors, we were able to sit outside since they weren't busy. The host at the front desk wowed me when she started writing down my allergie restrictions for the server. I have never had a restaurant do that before that I have ever been aware of. I was so appreciative of the attention to detail put on my account. We placed our order and I asked if I could have our salmon blackened versus their miso marinade. At first I was told this was possible, but due to my allergy restrictions, the waitress came back out, and said it was premerinated. So I still ordered my lady.The salmon and I got the grilled red fish. We both had broccoli for the side. Both of our meals were good, but the blackened trout that my friend got last week in my salad were to me even better. Please do not misunderstand what I'm saying. These items we ordered today were still worth purchasing and there were no issues. Again, I greatly appreciated the attention to detail, cade and concern.
