I usually go there Sundays for breakfast, for an Avocado Toast, Brekkie Wrap, or Build Your Own Bowl. I'll occasionally dine on a lunch salad (known as Chops, what gives the place it's name) like Greek-ish or Danish. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is relaxed. This place was mid at best. Menu said all bowls came with vegetables but all I got was rice and meat. I got the spicy Korean bbq bowl and it just tasted like overwhelming bbq sauce. Very clean, upscale fast casual inside. I love the concept of a quick and healthy meal on the go.  We ordered a Thai coconut chicken bowl to split. It has brown rice - chicken, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with chicken and a coconut peanut sauce.  It was almost enough to split for 2. Next time I would order extra sauce on the side, as it was a little sparce. I did top it with scallions and peanuts when I got home and that did really add to it. Not sure why this place is popular when I thought it was average at best. I got the teriyaki bowl to-go, which I could honestly make myself; it was just bland brown rice with teriyaki sauce and you throw protein and veggies on top. Nothing special. Decided to check out this place for lunch and was very impressed. On the road constantly - I love to find healthy places for lunch and this is one such spot! Beautiful, bright and airy inside. It a great, clean spot with lots of space inside. I had the Green Curry Tofu! It was absolutely delicious! I do wish it had been served a little warmer and with a little more of the curry sauce as that was so tasty and the was a lot more grain ( quinoa) than curry. You won't regret checking this place out. I always get the green curry bowl. Either with shrimp or tofu. It is super tasty and filling. There's a lot of healthy goodness going on in this bowl. From the rice, cauliflower & mushroom, topped with either tofu/shrimp and green onion.... all tossed in their green curry.... it's perfection. There's a lot of food packed into this bowl. And for the price? Whew. There's usually enough food left over for a second serving. I would give it five stars but my last visit, the customer service was off. This was my first time to eat inside a restaurant since the covid-19 outbreak. Chop Shop felt very clean with all employees in masks. Communal areas are now restricted. You must ask for condiments, straws, napkins, etc, with the exception of the fountain drinks/water. There was not many people here so you definitely had room to social distance. The menu is a little overwhelming at first glance. They do bowls, wraps, salads, and sandwiches. I got the spicy Korean bowl with 1/2 forbidden rice and 1/2 sweet potato hash. The bowls are 32 oz and come filled to the top. It was a lot of food! I love all the fresh steamed/cooked veggies. The Korean bowl had a lot of flavor and was very filling. I had never tried forbidden rice, so I didn't know what to expect. It was hard/crunchy. I have no idea if it's supposed to be like that or not? But mine was. I still ate all of it. There are several other menu items that I am interested in trying next time (shrimp bowl, sweet beef bowl, etc.). If you're going during the lunch rush, I suggest ordering online. The lines move quickly, but extend out of the door. Grab a seat and the staff will drop off your dine-in or to-go order tableside. They offer delivery through your favorite delivery app and I believe they accept orders direct as well. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love it so much I hate it. I could literally eat here every night! The food is so good! I can eat till I'm full and not feel like death! Everything is so fresh. If you have a gluten allergy they have GF wraps and other meal options! The club is my favorite. The gf wrap tastes great and doesn't crumble apart like most gf items. Do not let the name fool you, the Original Chopshop is not your traditional definition of a "chopshop" there is a lot of chopping going on, but it is mainly of veggies and lean meats and cheeses. The menu has a lot of great meat filled as well as veggie, fruit, and vegan based options. There is literally something for everyone here and that is what I liked about it. Honestly the first time I checked them out last year and I did not enjoy the food, but I thought I would give them another try and yesterday was a totally different experience as they now have a year under their belt! I had their red chili shrimp bowl with sweet potato hash and it had tons of spice and was just so super yummy! I could just eat the hash by itself. I added some sriracha sauce and just about burned myself, but it was such a good burn! Was in a hurry for lunch and wanted to grab something to go that was more healthy than my usual. I recalled one of these was going in near me and thought I'd give it a try! I saw they allowed ordering online and in store pick up! I familiarized myself with their menu and opted for the "Moroccan Turkey" (turkey, avocado, roasted red pepper, red grape, cucumber, house greens, yogurt sauce, red wine vinaigrette, multi-grain). I also ordered a "Simple Side Salad" (house greens, red wine vinaigrette), "Pitaya Bowl" (pitaya blended with apple juice, pineapple and banana, topped with granola, kiwi, banana, shredded coconut, agave nectar) and an Arnold Palmer. The site was easy and fast! I rushed on over! Parking just before noon is tough as there are a few large restaurants that share the lot. I got lucky. Going in, I found the To-Go area next to the 2 counter ordering stations with a long line of diners. The decor is nothing special and it is noisy. The To Go counter had quite a few orders with two in line in front of me. I stood there for a few minutes noticing more orders stacking up and no one making an effort to help the 3 of us. Finally I snagged someone who was taking orders out to the tables to get help. It was her first day and she was very eager to help (I think the only one there with any customer service skills!). They began trying to figure out who's was for who. She (friendly one) got someone to help us that was quite indignant about doing anything for the growing stack of orders. Finally they found my order. The ticket on the bag didn't show a drink but my emailed receipt did. The indignant one made an assumption some guy was making it and I waited another couple of minutes. He handed her something and she was about to hand it to me when I pointed out that wasn't an Arnold Palmer. An eye roll and she filled a cup with lemonade (not an Arnold Palmer) and gave that to me. I was in a hurry, took it and left. The food was good. The sandwich was outstanding and the Pitaya Bowl was pretty good! The salad was tiny and they put the dressing container inside which further reduces the content making it not a good value for the cost! The cost for all is a little high. I doubt I will give this location any further business. Bottom line, bad attitude, poor process/layout and not sure who was in charge added to rather pricy food. read more

We were on a road trip and stayed the night in Las Colinas/Irving Texas. It's always a challenge to find decent, non-road trip food. Sonic and McDonalds is great in a pinch, but we're adults and would like some good tasting, decent, healthy food. We found it with the Original Chopshop. What a great little find. This place has a bohemian feel to the place. One orders at the counter and then can take-away or sit there and eat. The menu is healthy, fresh, and really tasty! They offer juices, a good variety of salads, terrific sandwiches, healthy bowls, and breakfasts as well as pastries. Servings were ample. I had a club sandwich which was really amazing with excellent bread, and fresh flavorful ingredients without a lot of "glop" pasted to it. The Boss had the Kale-Quina salad with shrimp. It was ample and they didn't skimp on adding in the shrimp. We also ordered a Sweet Soy Sesame Steak Bowl that was big and delicious and not drowning in sauce that was too sweet. This was an excellent find for road-weary travelers or anyone who would like some fresh healthy eats. Pricing was entirely reasonable. Portions were ample.We were greeted immediately and our order was taken quickly. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and efficient. I really hesitated with this review. With the reviews being so wonderful, I was really excited to stop by during lunch one day. The atmosphere is awesome, the place is fairly new so very clean aesthetic, as well. Comfy and plenty seating inside and out. Staff was helpful and friendly. The food was less than stellar. I'm sure it's very clean and healthy ingredients but that doesn't equate to less flavor in my opinion. I got the red chili shrimp bowl, there was good flavor on the shrimp but overall the dish was lacking. It wasn't until I doused it in hot sauce that I was able to enjoy the meal. The dish was simply put, bland. I really wanted to love this place but I can't say that I'll be back as I was less than impressed. Around $12 for the protein bowl. read more

Confused and Missing Ingredients...I order the Thai salad with chicken, dressing on the side + extra dressing every time I come here. This was the first time I was disappointed. The good thing is I know why. It's because I usually place my own order. This time I relied on a staff member. It was the worst experience ever. Got my salad, all wrong. Tried to eat it but couldn't. She wasn't receptive to what I was saying. I Asked to make it the "to go" way so it would be right. Got the salad again, it was missing cilantro, pickled carrots and jicama. They argued me down that I didn't know what I was talking about. I had to point to the menu before they agreed it was supposed to be in my salad. She came back with carrots and said they were out of jicama. THEN SHE POINTED TO MY SALAD AND SAID THAT SHE SEES JICAMA. My husband asked if the guy in the kitchen said you are out how can you say there is some in her salad. Why did they argue with me? I didn't want to make it a big deal just give me the right salad. Had already left so wasn't able to change it. I considered going back to pick up dinner. Was thinking the American or the Beet salad. I liked that you had the option of getting the salad as a wrap. If you're looking for a quick and healthy dining option, Original Chop Shop is the place for you. Having dined here a few times for lunch I am a fan. On my visits the staff has been friendly and helpful; always willing to answer questions, provide beverage refills, etc. Seating includes booths and tables/chairs. There is also a patio just to the side of the primary entrance. On the visits where I dined-in, the empty seating spaces were very clean. Located in a strip mall, parking is shared with other businesses and is plentiful. As for entrees they have a nice variety of salads, sandwiches and protein bowls. The bowls, which have quickly become my go to (specifically, the Teriyaki Chicken bowl) are all served with roasted broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrots and mushrooms. There are several options for the base; a couple are included in the standard price (brown rice or sweet potato hash) while Forbidden rice or quinoa are available for an additional charge. In addition to the bowls, I have tried the Moroccan Turkey Sandwich. It was tasty but did not compare to the bowls. When it comes to beverages, they offer a variety of iced tea, craft soda and seasonal lemonades (strawberry/ginger was a favorite of mine while available). If you're looking for healthier options have cold-pressed juices and protein shakes/smoothies. If you're a coffee person like me, in addition to regular drip coffee they offer cold brew and the super tasty nitro cold brew. LOVE THIS PLACE! I decided to venture out of my bubble and try something different. I was craving something fresh and healthy but I wanted it to be filling at the same time. I walked in to the ChopShop and was given the recommendation of a protein bowl. I chose to do half brown rice and half sweet potato hash as my base. I'll be honest, I thought this would be a flavorless bowl of chopped up veggies. Man, was I wrong! All of the veggies were seasoned and roasted. SO much flavor! Not only did it taste good, but it also LOOKED good! The portion was definitely worth what I paid! I left the ChopShop stuffed and extremely satisfied.
